For the ones who's having a hard time listening to this. I would advice you to do some freeform stuff on your own or with a friend. I doesnt matter if you can play or not. Maybe you could visualise your favorite scene of a film or something. Once you get used to that, listening to this will become easier.
It's not so much that you get used to the dissonance, but you get used to emotion having a larger role than scales, theory and groove
I'ts like making your grandfather listening Georgy Ligeti (it depends on the person ofcourse)... but most grandfathers would not like it,,, it sounds like stupid but it has a lot of true in it......... so it happens in this kind of music
This might sound like noise but judging by your name your not an in demand session bassist, So why don't you buy a real bass and learn to play it then say something.
That was nice! I hope he allows a filming next month. I'm having to send my cohorts. Thanks for posting, though. Wow, Mobile yet I always end up flying at least 1,000 miles....LOL.
Impressive!

I love the use of marimba mallets on an upright bass...
If someone were to make funk fingers like that for a regular bass, I could picture quite a bit of different tones being able to be obtained.

Not to sure about this one... I'm a huge fan of Dunn, but this is a bit too much for me. Never was a big fan of Improv with a Harp&Bass Combo LOL
