Music is not set to only specific structures, it is an art form and subjective, and just as one can be abstract visually so too can you be audibly. I love all of the work this trio puts out. Also, appreciate the abnormality in musicians, we need the extremely different such as we need slight differences, without them we are reiterating the same thing over and over.
@marfguy1987 The fact that you would even bother to post here shows how little you know about drumming, even for a "jazz drummer." What about these drums aren't doing it? Is it the creative way he turns around the beat? Is it the metric modulation that's too simple for you? Or is it the melodic lines that he's creating? Also, use punctuation.
I guarantee that these musicians are better at what they do than anyone who watched this video is at doing anything. Dont criticize something you dont understand. By the way i dont give a shit about your opinions.

I cannot say it enough: this "singer"... needs to go. The Bad Plus: I LOVE YOU BUT THIS SINGER RUINS YOUR FINE MUSIC. Get another singer, or better yet, keep it instrumental guys. Please.

I'm speaking as a musician. when the piano played, I barely identified the song's scale.
It is much more difficult to listen to for a non-musician person, though I agree with the people who say that this is not a masterpiece. :)
