Hi, thank you for posting this.I just bought me a n.a.f. It is good to know the basic sounds. I have one question though. By lifting of the last finger on the left hand at the end there is sort of a 7th tone. Why isn`t this being used?
Thank you so much for making this video. A dear friend just gave us a flute he made and this video has help so much. Thank you for taking the time to help strangers learn this beautiful instrument and thanks to my friend for sending me the link. Bless you both.
This is a little confusing... my flute is a 6 hole flute... tuned to A-flat. So, to get the highest note... I need to take all fingers off all the holes (except for the 4th). If I use your method and cover the 3rd hole... the high note is flat. I'm assuming it's got something to do with the fact that you said these flutes were tuned to A-minor? (Minor being the operative word).
very interesting instrument, i can play the irish low whistle, it has the same number of holes, but the native american flute seems to be based on a different scale/mode, is it pentatonic?
Does anyone know what the equivilent concert notes are? I am trying to expand my flute styles, but I have a different type of flute and can't afford a different type. That was a very interesting video. :)

I have a "G" flute rather than the A-flat so I think the fingering might be slightly different. Would that be right?
