  • my betta fish does not want to eat fish pellets , so what should i feed him with?

  • @betyourkok They sell betta flakes, too, but usually they're supposed to prefer pellets. They love frozen bloodworms best. If you don't have other fish and only a betta, you should get the ones that are sold in sheets instead of in little cubes, so you can scrape off a small enough portion and refreeze the rest. You can feed him freeze dried bloodworms too, but they're less healthy than frozen ones.

  • mr scruff ninja !!!!!!

  • would a one gallon tank work for one beta?

  • @GamerGlitches89 Yes, but make sure you change the water at LEAST 2 times a week, if not more. Or have a filter, then once a week would be fine! But of coarse a bigger tank would be better, and I do recommend having a filter no mater what size the tank, I use the: Tetra Whisper. Good Luck

  • @mojodrago08 How many times would i have to clean it with a 3 gallon tank with a filter?

  • @GamerGlitches89 For a 3 gallon tank with filter... You should ether do a 20-50% water change weekly or a full water change every two weeks . It dose depend on the betta though, if the water gets brownish before 1-2 weeks then do full water change! Then at least every month wash out everything in the tank! For a 20-50% water change just take the fish out and replace the 20-50% of the water. I am not an expert but I hope this was helpful and not TOO confusing ;) .

  • @mojodrago08 Alright so to do that, we just put the betta in like a little cup or bowl, and then scrub out the inside, and replace the water? Does it need new gravel each time you clean the tank? Also, how do you put Water conditioner in?

  • @GamerGlitches89 Yes, and to put water conditioner in there should be instructions on how much conditioner to put in per gallon of water ON the container, so look! To put it in you add the water to the tank then put in the correct amount of conditioner then let it sit for about 10-15 min before adding the fish. Make sure you DON'T put the fish in before the conditioner!!!!

  • @GamerGlitches89 And no you do not need to change the gravel, just rinse it in a strainer to get all the feces and old food out.

  • this helped me a lot

  • i have a small tank and i have a blue one tht loks like your blueish one his name is dr.bieber and he always looks tired and or sad but he has the bubble nests all over he plant ive bene thinging about moveing the plant so he can swim around it is this a good idea because he cant move around it because it is up agnst the side of the tank/ please help!

  • My betta had a sickness, but is video didn't help at all!! It's chest got all yellow and puffy, and, and, IT DIED!!

  • What was this song?

  • that was great! good job

  • Good vid can bettas be kept in large flower vases if they have a heater

  • i have a 2.5 gallons tank with a heater. do i change 25% of the water evey week and 100% of the water every 2 months? do i change 100% of the water at all? i see lots of people do that on youtube and the betta seems to be fine.

  • Lots of ways to clean tank. If you only have the one Betta in the tank you wont have a lot of waste 20-25% once-twice a week is fine. Vacuum the gravel every 2-4 weeks with filter changes. The only thing you want to watch is shocking them. Premixing the water with dechlorinator and gettng the fresh water temp room temp- what temp the tank is at will keep your betta happy. Ive known people to change 100% water but that messes up your tanks biology and can kill your fish if its weak

  • i have a beta fish called Sparky and he has a 8 gallon tank with a heater and a filter!

  • Are plastic plants good?

  • They seem to like long leafed grassy looking plants. They'll wedge themselves in them and nap lol In the wild they're found in puddles and small swamps so lots of soft smooth plants. Low lighting cause they anger at reflections. They're fond of doorways or donut-like ornaments protecting their sides but not back or their front. Also they hate fast moving water.. If you have too much current in your tank it can actually exhaust them to the point of killing them.

  • @Hamyshark There's nothing wrong with fake plants, but try silk or something softer than most of the plastic plants in the store. Rule of thumb: if pantyhose would snag on it, it's no good (fins will snag just as easily). There are some nice-looking, inexpensive artificial plants--just be sure to clean them well when you clean the rest of the tank (no soap!).

  • the 2.5 gallon is what kind of tank i have and i have 5 betta fish but each in a diffent tank

  • @WintershamLPcool can you make a video about him

  • is a 1.5 gallon tank good enough for a betta fish:)?

  • @immNOTaBelieber its ok...2.5 gallons is better but its better than those bowls of torture...

  • my friend has the tank at 1:28 i keep telling her it's to freaking small. -.-

  • my blue betta looks just like yours, but mine has a turquoise stripe (:

  • I JUST MY BETTA TODAY! HIS NAME IS DARK DUST :3 I GOT THE 1.5 GALLOON AND NOW WE ARE READY TO LIVE A HAPPY LIFE! THANKS :3

  • Some people might trash talk you saying 1.5g is cruel but its a lot better than the cup at the pet store. You can always upgrade later too. I think a 20g is only $30-40 which is perfect for them plus you can decorate it up reaaallly nice.

A side fact.. Betta fish are territorial up to one square foot. They wont attack fish that don't look like a Betta fish so some tetra are safe cause they dont look like betta and swim too fast for betta to catch.

  • Thanks for uploading! This video is fantastic!

  • This song is the best! NNNIIINNNJJJAAA TTTUUUNNNAAA!!!

  • NINJA TUNA!

  • @Siththefavourite No that's to small I wanted it too but it was small so I got a 2.5 gallon aquarium

  • That is a hudge tank. Don't u think a 2 gallon tank would satifies. lol

  • @PurpleNeonOwls you do need a heater if you want your betta to live a long HEALTHY life and most tank need a filter.

  • is the marina tank good not the big one

  • Thank you for this!!

  • your fish must be very happy

  • @PurpleNeonOwls They actually do. Bettas are warm water fish and will be very uncomfortable in cold water. I used to believe all the myths about bettas, too, but since I have moved my bettas to 5-10g heated and filtered tanks, they have really thrived. I use a sponge filter in my 10g and a low-flow internal filter in my 5g because bettas don't like strong currents. The sponge filter was less than $10.

  • I have a blue betta just like yours!

  • WATCH MY VIDEOS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i hope you know that bettas in wild live in puddles so they only need about 1 litres

  • @MegaFishguru just because they need 1 liter doesn't make them happy and healthy, they need room to spread the fins and get a good swim on.

  • You also need a heater that keeps the water around 78 degrees farenheit

  • At 3.03 that's not fin loss u retard, that's a crowntail betta

  • SO glad I saw this! I just got my first betta today, and he only has one plant in his tank that came with the little kit. Which, by the way, the tank you said was 1.5 gallons was actually I think only .5 gallons (that's the one I have). My male betta is too big for it, I'm going to go get a 2.5 gallon tank tomorrow as well as the plants.

So excited to make him comfortable. :)

  • @Kagome811 did you end up getting him a bigger tank?:)

  • @mrcheekycheeks I did! :D I got him the Aqueon MiniBow 2.5gal tank with a filter, and he loves it! :) I'm so happy I ended up getting it. He swims around a lot more, and I bought him another soft plastic plant and a nice silk plant that he loves sleeping in. Definitely worth it. ^_^

  • @Kagome811 it is! i got mine in a 5g hex tank, just him and a shrimp. Hes got silk plants too, so they don't tear his fins, and a heater/filter, but if you live in a hot climate you don't really need a heater

  • @mrcheekycheeks Ooh, awesome! :D Are you liking the 5gal hex tank? I'd really like to get Apollo a 5gal tank someday...

As for heaters, I just ordered a 25watt adjustable one that had lots of good reviews. I live in Ohio, so it's pretty cold here in winter xD And even in summer we have the AC on which makes it cold in here basically all the time. lol

  • Is it better to have gravel or rocks? I've had 4 Bettas total including the two I have now and I have always used rocks because they are easier to clean. Please reply

  • HEY WATCH MY VIDEO NEW THINGS AND TELL ME IF MY TANK IS TO SMALL

  • Comment removed

  • athank you! very helpful!

  • The thumbnail pic is exactly what mine looks like. I named him Posiden (like the greek god of water) and got him yesterday

  • Well I bought the divider tank, the Bettas are very small so hopefully they wont be sad before I can buy a second tank. I had no idea that was too small as I have never owned a fish before. For the gallon and a half tanks with the pretty lids, how much conditioner should use use. That is the tank I will be buying and I think once I take the divider out they will both be gallon and a half tanks. Is one capful enough per gallon?

  • i have the exact food

  • do you really need gravel? reply ASAP

  • @spontanous91151 Yes, you can buy a small bag for like 3.50. My betta actually lays on the gravel. It is also where all of the waste goes.

  • If 2 betta fish can't be together, then how do they breed?

  • @Lightning12R you only put the female with the male after he built his bubble nest, after that you seperate them because he harrases the female so much that she dies of stress, iv made that mistake once hehe

  • @Lightning12R You need to condition them. Usually dividing the tank or placing the female in the tank via a large cup (transparent)with the female inside. This way they can see each other but not touch. Once the male builds a bubble nest and the female develops signs of eggs you can usually place them together.

  • Nice educational video keep up the good work, this shows your passion in taking care of your betta.

  • my fish is depressed what do i do??

  • even if u get a 2.5 gallon tank its still small if u dont got a fitler

  • That was a crown tail not fin rot but good vid btw

  • Also leave them in separate tanks or they will fight no matter what fish Betta stay alone

  • u dumb shit when u were talking about fish diseases and fin loss the picture u showed us was of a perfectly healthy CROWN TAIL BETTA thats how there meant to look u retard

  • Why don't you put both fish in the same big tank instead of on there own?! :/

They will have lots of space to swim and grow up happily!

  • @Hotlips4000isback coz they fight u cant keep males together

  • @AwesomeAssassin1000

Oh OK, i didn't know that they would fight each other.

I have two Comets and one Shubunkin, never had Betta's.

  • nice video ! Thanks.

  • @reininghorses57 thx! how could u tell if it's a gallon? this is the last one im asking.

  • I have the Blueish one ^^ Tail just like that , Blue and Red . :D

  • 1.How do fish get ich?

2.Is it ok when I put it in a big large fish bowl?

3.Do betta fish eat any kind of fish food?

4.How do fish get fin rot? o.0

  • @JcmJanah answers to your questions 1. A fish can get ich by bartiria, or paracites in his water 2. yes, you can put him in a large fish bowl as long as it is at least 2 gallons, has a heater, and a filter, and enough shelter inside 3. no, bettsa dont eat every kind of fish food, mine will not eat pellots, but any brand of betta food is good, i recommend topfin 4. they get fin rot the same way they get ich, but you will notice small bits of fin rotting off of your fish, get it treated ASAP

  • congrats my friend :))

  • Worst video ever

  • Mine kinda looks like the bluish one but mines alittle more purple lol! go us for allmost matching fish!

  • gravel in walmart 3.95

  • Do they get used to cold?

  • @bugsybunnny Not really...shoot for something bigger..a 2 gal. is decent. :) and a 5 gal. woud be even better!

  • How worm should the Walter be!

  • @tluce2 Should be high 70's 76-80*F is good.

  • This video helped alot!

  • Thx it really help mima (my baby betta female) she's rely happy

  • @epicmickeymouse123 I would definitely recommend using conditioner. Just because water conditioners are specially designed to remove harmful bacterias and chlorine. With boiling you can never be too sure how much have gone. I recommend using tetra Aqua safe water conditioner. In this video it shows betta water conditioner, which is actually just a weakened version of regular water conditioner. The reason it is like this is that Bettas are commonly kept in tanks below 5 gallons (unfortunately),

  • @epicmickeymouse123 you go out and buy some. If you absolutely can not get any I recommend boiling the water you are putting in the tank. Please make sure that you don't put your betta in water straight from the tap, the chlorines etc in the water can be lethal for your betta and can kill them. If I were you before the next water change get some conditioner, if your betta is currently swimming about in straight from the tap water immediately take him out into a plastic tub or something (which h

  • what do you do if you have no water conditioner and do you abselutly need it

  • @epicmickeymouse123 Yes you DO need it. It dissipates chemicals like chlorine and heavy metals that can kill your fish.

  • my turtle ate my betta

  • @eminem0082 this was unexpected???

  • I have the 1/2 gallon tank and my fish loves it

  • idk nything abt fishes >x< but wut does a filter do? does it keep the water clean so u dnt hav to clean it?

  • I have a 1.5 gallon tank with real lants, and the betta leaf hamock. He loves it! Can I put a guppy with them? if not the males, how bout my female?

  • Can I use river water instead of using tap water? I stream runs 500 meters from my house and it´s crystal clear water that comes down from the nearby volcano that has a snow cap year round. can i do that?

  • i just got my betta and whenever there is somtin luod it freaks out why is he doing this? and why doesmy betta quiver his fins real fast and spread out when i look into his tank?

  • @TheFunnybunny234 he probobly isnt used to u yet so dont do anything loud around him or startle him. he just needs to get used to his new tank. i would recommend putting some long plants in there so he can hide. Good luck with ur new betta!!

  • i bought the same fish food today :P

  • i just got my first one.beutiful blue...thinking of naming him george..informative vid thx

  • I got a betta fish! I named him Prince Andre Carlisle Hareton Clyde Gatsby Buchanan the First a.k.a Clyde. =)

  • i got mine yesterday at petco. he is a crowntail betta. i named him Zipper

  • NINJA TUNA!!!!!

  • I am so happy now....

  • Is the ich and fin loss treatment espensive? Are little things like mountains with holes good for Betta's to sleep in? Or do they prefer flower things like you had exampled?

  • @RoMiGre the last time makeup012z answered a question, was 9 monthes ago. i would be thinking the same thing. Not trying to offend you. :)

  • @mikeyg17368 top fin is a horrible brand

  • I recently got a betta fish and had him for about two weeks. He was in a 2.5 gallon tank that I did 50% water changes in every week. This morning he was dead and the nitrites were 10+. I don't get it...

  • I have a 3/4s of a gallon nd it's a pretty good size and my betta is happy but I think maybe cuz it's like 1 in long but idk i'm not a fish expert

  • I even think that the one with 1.5 gallon is too small. The petbox is okay. Mine lives in a 3 or 4 gallons tank with a heater and a nice lightlamp and much plants and stones. watch my videos to see what im talking about ;P Nice video by the way!

  • your blue betta looks just like mine =D

  • I had a betta in a 10 gallon and i thought you could put goldfrish with it so i put 3 with it and then my fish ate my betta.:(

  • I have 3 bettas. And they are REALLY healthy (:

  • For everyone who's wondering about why bettas are kept in blue, green, yellow, and purple water in stores, it's so the bettas won't see each other and fight, it's easier to keep males together that way. (I do NOT work with any pet companies) :)

  • Ok, I have a q: will my Betta ever stop staring at his reflection??? Also, how do I no when he's hungry? Btw, my Betta looks JUST like yours, except fuller fins. :D

  • all betta tank should be atleast 2.5 gallons 1.5 is too small

  • I have 3bettas(:

  • I have a 4 gallon tank, will i need a heater? The lady from the petstore said i wouldnt but i put hte tip of my nail in the top and it was a little bit cold! Also, ive been feeding her but shes not eating? i dont know if this is from the coldness of the water if its to cold or if shes just eating a little??

  • nice job i have a 2.5 gal i dont have to use water codit but alot of people will

  • I have aa question; before the betta fish die, do they sink to the bottem? Because both me AND my brother's betta fish sank to the bottem and the next week or so they were both dead. Just wondering :) Oh, and, I'm getting a NEW one today!

  • Why are Bettas kept in blue water at the store?

  • @HIMnHER666 It looks blue, but its just normal water.

  • i have the one at 1:28 for both of mine. lol

  • haha ninja tuna?

  • I've never seen a yellow betta before. Yellow is my favorite color:).

  • awesome video

  • Room temp is not the best for your Betta/s, they are tropical fish meaning a temperature of 72-76ish is ideal. And why do ppl always buy bettas and trap in tiny bowls or vases. Yes they can survive like that but it is not ideal. In their natural habitat they live in rice paddies which are like small swimming pools and many paddies are connected. I use to breed Bettas, it is extremely easy if you know how to provide the optimum conditions and let it thrive instead of barely survive in its own sht

  • anyway i got my betta fish at NOV.2nd 2010 its a girl named lava i also have food and when u give it 2 her or him it will become more colorfull

  • Great video thanks so much!

  • @BakaniBoko your welcome (:

  • wow lucky fishy XD i aplaud you for having such a nice setup =D

  • 5/5 kool video thanks.... But some question since I'm starting one soon.

Whats the best water temp ?? And can I keep a female and male together ??? I have this thing about fish being by them self lolz

  • @xDAVMANx If you keep a female & a male together they are going to mate & have children. & the best temperature is room temperature. the night before you change the water set the water out on the counter & the next day it will be room temperature.

  • @makeup012z tecnacly no.........you can keep them together while they mate......but then they will fight eachother

  • @makeup012z im sorry but you are wrong, the best temperture is 78 degrees they need warmer water and the only time you can put female and males together is when they are mating. putting them any other time and male will chase the female and stress it to death

  • @makeup012z I release that your comment is old now, but I still need to reply to it.You absolutely shouldn't EVER keep a male and female betta together - they will 9/10 times fight like two males will, and the female will often kill the male. Breeding bettas and introducing a breeding pair to each other is incredibly difficult. Room temperature is actually too cold for bettas - they can survive in room temperature water but it is better that they have heated water, as they are tropical fish.

  • @makeup012z sorry to point this out, gut your wrong..bettas need 80 degrees

  • @KidMumba BUT*

  • @xDAVMANx - well, you can have a male and a female together if you have a realy big aquarium with lots of plants. if you put them together in a small tank, the male is gonna hunt the female until she dies of stress. =/ Dont worry about lonliness for the fishes. =) The betta-males are just feeling safer when they lives buy themselves ;)

  • sweet vid. very helpful ;)

  • I feed my betta the freeze dried bloodworms. they love them.

  • @HollywoodDitz hello, can we feed the betta with bread???? becausee of my betta loves it

  • can we feed aor betta with bread??? because my betta loves it

  • @HollywoodDitz me too (: i just forgot to put it into the video.

  • awesome, nice, thx!

  • awesome, nice, thx!

  • The pellet food sinks rite to da bottom... I don't reccomend it.

  • @flippydog101 The fish will go get it if its hungry.
