  • @Killaxi21

    Yeah, cool story bro.

  • Thank you S.Vietnam veterans!

    Vietnamese people debt you forever

  • people will always protest wars, but to be complete dicks to your own countrymen because they fought either by choice or draft, is rediculous. They killed for you and you spit on them ,fuckin dicks

  • I can see why this veteran feel that Americans were naive when entering Vietnam. As he stated, there are many people, especially here in the US, that don't understand what life is like in other cultures. I can see why people come back from war changed, like the person in the interview said.

  • I like how he talks about how he came back changed after the war.

  • I'm sure they're never the same persons again :(

  • Sad memories in their mind forever :(

  • This video is an amazing insight to the world of a veteran. Such a sad story most are unable to tell.

  • This certain war was very tough for returning soldiers here in the states. Many protestors felt it was an unjust war and those who took part where part of the problem and not the solution. So there was not ticker tape parades or crowds gathered in salute. Damn shame.

  • This video saddened me and made me proud and the same time. Thank you Veterans for all the sacrifices you made.

  • Vietnam veterans were treated so horribly bad. I think that these people were not thanked enough by the citizens of America. I would like to say thank you and may God bless you. I am sorry you had to go through that.

  • My Grandpa was in the Vietnam War. He was Sargeant in the 101st Airborne Division. He cannot talk about his experience over there. It was just too painful for him.

  • i wanna hear stores from a vietnam grunt vet..no offense

  • I have always loved the use of photographs in videos, along with interviews and an important story. I've heard about men of war "jumping" out of planes and helicopters. I agree with Mr. Larson that the wars, Vietnam and Iraq, have been treated differently in this country. He has many questions, and he is right it will all come out in time. Thank you for serving for us, Mr. Larson. The flute music is a perfect accompaniment to this video too!

  • watch?v=GJxb7CY13uc <--- Watch this.

  • So it's not okay to slaughter civilians but its okay to slaughter those who courageously try in vain to protect them? Not to mention, just like every other invasion by this country, there never was any evil to defeat just recources to plunder and slaves to gain

  • My Uncle was in Nam, and he told me he was incaved in feses for 1 week, and after that he was being sent to execution, but when he was about to die the US army came and killed every Viet COng soldier there. Man, I have a lot of respect for him and it was tough back then.

  • Fantastic video, this gentlemen has more sac than any of us, glad he made it. Great American!

  • My gardpa fought in vietnam but for the vietnamise side. He fought in it because the American soilders Burned his villige killed his family. they killed them by burning their huts at night and they killed my great grandma by when she was running she got shot in the leg and fell and the american soilders just laughed and shot her int he face my grandpa was the only one that made it out.

  • @theclate Good.

  • @TheIronicBanana how when his 9 year old brother died he said to avenge him and join the communist

  • @theclate No, I meant good about the war.

  • Cho Larson, you are an inspiration to all youth who are willing to listen! I enjoyed listening to this video very much and love to learn about wars. this was another great video.

  • All these war stories are so interesting. Nice music choice.

  • This is a great video with great shooting. I find it really sad that if these men had problems and wrote letters and got to go see someone for problems, they probably wouldn't come back. Also, I think that it is horrible that the pilots taking the men to "other" hospitals, would have vietnamese men "jump" out of the chopper.

  • Thats sad. such a terrible war and so much cover up by our government

  • This video was sad when he talked about how some people would push their kids infront of a military vehicle just to get money.

  • More should be done for the veterans. the thought of the pain the endure during and after the war is heartbreaking. I liked how the video was shot though :)

  • the Vietnam war was a difficult time for America and the best thing to do is learn as much as possible from the experience.

  • I Love the moving words across the scene!!! Nice touch!!!! I would reconsider the music. To me it sounded more native American wind pipes then Vietnamese but, maybe I don't know the difference? If I'm wrong I think it rides the line and still would have went with an alternative choice.

  • To have this experiance, even in your own family, is amazing. I wish I would of talked to my grandfathers about their time in there wars

  • Another war I became aquainted with via cinema--First Blood--but I also knew a guy who was in Vietnam. He used to run E and E's Arcade in Seboyeta.

  • Vietnam is one war I never learned much about but this video has given me great insight to this history. I feel for men and women who go away to war and come back what a struggle that must be for them and their families.

  • Very educational. I learned a lot more of the Vietnam war that i have never heard about.

  • This was a good vid. Alot of good info of a vets memories of war and it actually makes a person think of how hard it is to be a soldier.

  • So many stories and they have the same impact..the courage and endurance amazes me..thank you for all you have done for this country.

  • it was good to see someone explaining how he learned about the evils of the world

  • when my grandpa use to see a vietnamese person you to cuss at them in vietnamese and dunsley or something it means halt, wat they would say before they shot the vc he hated them when the vietnamese ppl moved in across the street from his mom after the war and he was over at her house he use to play patriotic music and yell at the vietnamese "youd be able to see the flag i have if you didnt have to squint so damn hard "

  • After they stirred everyone up in a Communist fearing frenzy for decades on end, Cuba is still there, Vietnam got to be one nation instead of split in two by occupying colonists, Russia has more multi billionaires than anyone else in the world, and China gives us 99% of our goods. Did the sky fall? What the hell did all those people die for?

  • ..and after all of this, it turns out that "domino theory" was a big farce.

the government now has good relations with China, Vietnam, Saudi Arabia. It should be clear by now that they have taken everyone for a ride.Patriotism means nothing when your government is in bed with those they told boys to kill and be killed over not long ago.Patriotism is a lie the corpo-gov't feeds you so you'll go out and kill the next target so you can make them money.Terrorism? What ever happened to Communism!?

  • Vietnam was televised chemical warfare. Every experimental brew the pentagon could dream up was thrown out on soldiers and the vietnamese. Children running around with their skin hanging off wasn't a media invention, it was the norm. DOW chemical was helping to recruit at colleges!

  • Watch the documentaries on how are government routinely abandons POWs. The troops mean jack squat to the gov't save their usefulness in the power and wealth retention of a wealthy few at the top and a corrupt corporate system.

  • They return killers. That's why our government right now lists returning veterens as potential security terrorist threats.

  • I thank God that I live in a time where we can disagree on a war but still support our boys.

I honestly don't know how the hippies got away with the shit that they did. If I ever saw someone spit on our troops they'd be going home with a broken jaw.

  • @jtoon200 The major difference is that Iraq isn't and will never be televised like vietnam was.

They'll never do THAT again. You put Iraq or any other dead end military industrial complex New world order empire expansion on that damn TV ever again and just like vietnam, you'll see upwards of 85% of the US population turn into protesting "hippies" overfuckingnight.

  • Not even going to bother rebutting.

  • @jtoon200 It's hard to argue with the truth.

  • @MotherMagdoline

No, it's hard to argue with someone still living in the sixties.

  • @jtoon200 ????LOL..what the hell is that supposed to mean? Do you really think accusing someone of being a liberal or a hippie is supposed to be affective against the truth? It's lame. I would hope that ignorance and oblivion were a thing of the past instead of enlightenment and information, but it's more common than it was in the 60's, obviously, which is unfortunate. But don't worry, it's not soley the fault of the ignorant. The media is not doing it's job in reporting.

  • @jtoon200 The funny thing is that nothing at all has changed. Politics and Corporate greed are the same now as it was then, and instead of agent orange and napalm they have depleted uranium in the middle east and still the gov't experiments on troops and the civilians of the occupied nations alike.

The soldiers are "following orders" from commanding officers, just like back then, to "shoot on sight" and have a high body count. You are told to indiscriminatly kill, those are your orders.

  • @MotherMagdoline

I've got to say. You are really gone. Want to tell me about the Illuminati lizard people too?

  • Thank you for putting up this video.

  • My Uncle is a veteran. He killed men, delivered babies, I have a lot of respect for him.

  • My Grandpa was a Ranger in Vietnam.

  • @TheWannabeRANGER Awesome... has he told you any of his stories?

  • @dbocaz Yes. I interviewed him in 2008 for a school project. I asked him basic questions about his experiences in the war. He told me how he got wounded, what weapons he liked to use, his views of the war, what diseases he received, what medals he received, and some other stuff. If you want the interview link I can message it to you.

  • watch my vietnam video and suggest it 2 people

  • did you end up figuring out the name of the instrumental song by any chance? "warveterans" do you know?

  • Is it a soundtrack to Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon? I really want to get the full version. help!

  • @black23680 No, it is from a music database. It is a Vietnamese song. I'll have to see if I can track down the title again.

  • @dbocaz you know, it sounded a lot like some of the soundtracks from that movie, but I couldnt find one exactly like this one; this one has such an effect on me; it immediately captures my heart. Let me know as soon as u find out please. Thank-u :)

  • Does anyone know the name of the instrumental music at the beginning of the video?

  • I live in Spokane, Washington. Thank you for serving.

  • This guy is one of those few intelligent americans :-)

We need to support those people. I am against all war, but i support the soldiers who fight because they have to.

NOT supporting the generals and politicians, they are the wrongdoers in every case. History always shows that.

  • i got vietnam stories that relate to this video about my grandpa heres one of them

my grandpa was a specialist 4 in vietnam a sniper there from 65-68 after he left he was excited to see other people that werent the VC or in bodybags that he didnt know so he steps off the plane and the first guy he saw who wasnt in a uniform was behind a fence he was a hippie and spat on my grandpa and called him a baby killer

learn the rest of the story by messaging me

  • It is sad how the vietnam veterans were treated. It is hard enough to recover from the horrors of war but to come back to this treatment made it really hard to heal.

  • @warveterans Agreed, even if the war was opposed with a rabid ferocity, It definitely wasn't fair for the poor guys who came home shell shocked, mentally scarred, crippled, broken, or any combination of the above.

  • @spenser828 i wanna here em

  • @spenser828 Hate the war, not the warrior.

  • @spenser828 hey the same thing happen to my dad fucking assholes.

  • @spenser828 can you send the rest of ur grandpas 'nam story?

  • @spenser828 honey I was @ the Miami airport they spit on my brother when he was walking down the ramp I LOST IT attacked the guy and was arrested. My brother is yelling after me, WHAT AM I GOING TO TELL MOM. Just come a get me please. OH! by the way I was his sister.

  • @vsripley i hope you had a miserable life after that you ignorant bitch.

  • @spenser828 So what happened then?

  • @Killaxi21 he went to climb the fence when his buddy grabbed him and pulled him back and told him he was in the army until he left that airport, so after he left airport he left all his stuff with his mom and looked for the guy. the guy had ran away after my grandpa went torwards the exit

  • Its unbeliveable how our government mistreated soliders who represent our nation. The fact that they sent soldiers over to Vietnam without educating them on the type of situation that they were walking into is injustice.

    TheJGibShOW.. FOR FREE

  • Thats really disturbing how our government would punish those men for writing letters to the congressman. That just shows how much our governments deteriorating. "Jumping out " of helicopters, whats our country coming to?

  • Veterans deserve respect.. I wish everybody would watch these videos

  • Wow has anyone realized that this video is kinda about how bad we were. Our government sent soldiers to an unlikely place to survive just because they sent a letter of complaint. How helicopters were dropping of Vietcong patients in the forrest and saying they jumped out . CRAZY!

  • I think the soldiers need to be allowed to talk about these things though. A lot of them are haunted by these memories and need to be able to discuss them. I'm amazed at what they've seen and been through.

  • we werent bad acosta it was the military who turned farm boys or the nice kds into those men nam changes alot of men message me if you want to hear 4 vietnam stories with the words my grandpa told them in

  • I've witnessed a lot of messed up minds coming back from war. I agree that America needs to be more supportive. I feel that sometimes America just uses our soldiers for our country...then when they get home, they kind of forget about them. I know America does a lot for veterans but it still seems like we could do more.

  • I agree. We really need to do a lot more to help veterans after war. The way we treated vietnam veterans is a tragedy.

  • @warveterans Hi, if you look at other countries, a lot of the Veterans don't have the same problems the USA do. I think the US could learn a lesson about veterans.

  • @warveterans Also, I think now people disagre with the Vietnam war. But looking back on it support our troops.

I always see people buying Vets coffee etc. I saw one Hillbilly wearing over-alls who was maybe 15, buy a guy wearing a vietnam hat a burger. The Veteran, was wearing designer pants, and a raulph lauren polo shirt!

  • "Was it justified" he asked Great ending for a video.

  • Great video and camera shots.I liked the question at the end when he spoke about Saddam."Was It justified?"Great ending leaves you something to ponder on.

  • "No one ever comes back the same from war." and this is the most powerful statement. These videos are giving these men a chance to tell thier story, and thats all anyone wants, is a chance to be heard. Even if the story isn't always what you expect. Very well done.

  • my uncle came back from Nam all messed up. he's still not the same. they tied a VC to a tree and took a slice out of him every hour for 2 days until he gave up info. He never talked and they cut his throat. my unc still has nightmares of getting his throat sliced

  • That's why we really need to be supportive of veterans. They've seen so many horrible things. They need a lot of help and understanding to get through it.

  • It is sad that soldiers were expected to take lives and offer their own for a cause they were unsure of. Misinformation, deciet, hidden agendas...some of these stories are just mind-blowing...pushing your kids in front of vehicles for a couple hundred dollars...wow...

  • That's so true that they never come back the same from war. Anytime my step-grandfather hears a loud noise, he falls to the ground and takes cover because of the bombs. It makes me sad.

  • It is sad how misinformed both the soldiers and the public can be during a war. There is no better message against war than a veteran who has served his country and questions the decisions made by our government. War is certainly an ugly thing and devastating to both sides in the end.

  • How horrible about the Vets jumping out and killing themselves. I believe they could be saved and they just needed to be disposed.

It would be awful to live with those memories and recapture of flashbacks.

  • they didn't jump they were thrown out

  • I was drafted in 1966. Wanted nothing to do with it but had to go so as not to dishonor my dad. He spent almost 3 years in jungles in WWII. I was led to believe the north was attacking the south ignoring a peace treaty. After I got there our interpreter told me VC threatened villagers to get their help. They didn't have guns to defend themselves so they helped VC out of fear. Almost a million people left the north because they didn't want to live under communism. They voted no with their feet.

  • But dear old Ho chi min had a dream. He would reunite Vietnam. It didn't matter how many people would die. I was with a good outfit. There was honor there. Not one violation of the Geneva convention. Honest soldiers all around. I saw none of the alleged "massacres".

I talked to a grunt who went into Hue city after they drove out the VC. Hundreds, thousands of civilians were slaughtered.

Why did that barely get mentioned in US news? Google "massacre at Hue" finally news of that is coming out.

  • I was in nam during the TET offensive. The VC had been brainwashed into believing the people of the south would help them if the opportunity arose. Tet failed because the people did NOT want communism. The Hue massacre was part deliberate, part frustration at being driven out, and part fear. The vc killed to leave no witnesses. Communism is all about power to hell with people.

I wish they had bombed the north into oblivion. Cambodia tried to stay neutral. Much of the VC trail was in Cambodia.

  • That's a great quote... "they voted no with their feet." Thank you for your service. I see Vietnam as a lost battle in a winning war. Even though Vietnam was lost, the Cold War was won. The US drew a line in the sand and said it must stop. It's like the Spartans and 300. Their sacrifice and loss enabled the Greeks to win the war.

  • I had guys tell me the VC were grabbing kids and men, forcing them to join. I think the Taliban learned terror from the D@mn VC. Guys told me they saw women and kids killed by VC to scare other villagers into helping them with food and hiding them. They were cutthroat bastards from the start. Someone needed to stop it. Lying north commies made treaties never meaning to keep. HO Chi minh got a whole bunch of his "countrymen" killed because he wanted to reunite north and south. Way to go uncle HO

  • Vietnam was the birth of a new kind of warfare that we still fight today. Vietnam taught us a lot about this new fighting and enabled us to win the Cold War. The sacrifice of the US soldier in Vietnam enabled us to win the Cold War in the end. Like the 300 Spartans who laid down their lives to slow down the enemy and give the Greek army time to organize and rally and win the war.

  • that guys awesome

  • Thanks for watching.

  • i once hear you shouldn't mourn for the dead. but mourn for the ones alive

  • Very true actually. Many veterans struggle with haunting memories of war.

  • How could I possibly be angry at the vet? Especially when they got so hoodwinked by the political suits! They pull the strings yet have no clue at the costliness of war, it's all about blood profiteering. Terrible waste of lives and time and money.

Young men should be out chasing skirt not bullets!

  • War is waste...period.

  • We're not trying to justify war, but honor the people who lived through it. Many soldiers don't have a choice. You should direct your anger at the leaders and politicians who start the wars, not the people were following their orders. Vietnam did so much damage to that generation and our leaders still want to help them through it. Don't been one of those people who makes it difficult for them to heal from the wounds of war.
