  • i can tell this dude gets pussy

  • Good thing Fina adopted a fly kick.

  • Kitajima is amazing these power and technique. Today its his 29th birthday. Hope to see him a lot of years by World Championships and Olympic Games. Best wishes to him for the future from his Fans in Germany

  • i love the announcers when when they see his splits.

  • DÁNIEL GYURTA IS THE BEST SWIMMER IN THE WORLD!!!

  • nice

  • holy crap kitajima comnpletely blew away the competition in that heat

  • Kitajima best tehnique .. i don't know barrowman i just watched the vid where he swams 2:08.. for those years + no dolphin kick + no head under water .. i think barrowman would make it better but still kitajima is my choice !

  • @Hydramiist What are you talking about? 2:08 with no head underwater...first of all, his best time was a 2:10, and during barrowman's career (late 80's through 90's) it was legal to put your head under. However, your general point stands, and I personally agree with it. For having no dolphin kicks and racing in regular briefs, that time is on par with this 2:07.51--let's not forget than any modern racing suits (even non-bodysuits) have a HUGE effect in breast due to the impact on glide time.

  • the best guy for breast.

  • id hate being in that heat...

  • domination right there

  • Kitajima is and was a great breaststroker but no one has dominated the 200 like Barrowman. He held the world record in the 200 breast from 1989 until 2002. World records hardly ever last that long. Barrowman revolutionized the stroke and is the best breaststroker of all time.

  • I love the announcers, reminds me of Ninja Warrior.

  • id rather be a breaststroker than a ball handler

  • i suddenly want cocacola

  • Man he has one circular head but he is way to fast I wish I was him...

  • Breast stroke is one of the most beautiful strokes when done properly. This guy is the man

  • breast of the breast

  • Does someone notice that the Japanese record split at 50, 100 & 150 metres was faster than the world record split?

  • @Rac1ng4Live haha i thought i was the only one who noticed that

  • some day i wil become better than kosuke kitajima

  • @amandotube cool story bro

  • gj kitajima im getting there!

  • i know that technique can overcome the difference in body physics among different swimmers in breaststroke so those of small built have a chance against the bigger swimmers, but does it work for the other strokes?

  • @horosagi

not freestyle..in the 50 free everyones frickin huge..

  • He's got a perfect tehcnique! It's a joy to see his swim...Perfect rythm, perfect stroke, practically no waste of energy when breathing, allways moving forward...Perfect!..

  • yeaaaaa japannnn ftw. truly incredible . i go 1 05 in 100

  • Long or Short Course?

  • scy

  • short or long course?

  • @ghostzapper2006 Have u ever learned counting? if this's 200m and he swim's 4 lanes :P

  • @ghostzapper2006 LONG course!!!

  • this guy is amazing i love his breastroke

  • kitajima's stroke is different. just noticing it now, but his pull comes reallyyyy fast, with his kick following far behind but fast enough to end same with his kick. he has to be real damn strong to keep that up

  • I LIKE THE VOICES HAHAHA!!

  • incredible

  • This guy is a breast beast!

  • the best guy i like!!! amazing breast

  • The imbodiment of perfect form

  • His pull somewhat different to others cos he pulls so early before he out of water - that means he has huge strength - I has try it and copy it, boy, its didn't last long cos his stroke is so slippy so its suitable for someone who has huge strength

  • Wat u mean he pulls so early? I wanna try it so can u explain it?

  • I think it's because kitajima pulls very fast, which is extremely tiring.

  • the greatest breastsroker ever next to mike barrowman

  • The fastest certainly. But I still think no one was/is able to match Ed Moses in elegance.

  • that's true!!!

  • moses parts the waters.

  • yes. moses had the best technique ever in breaststroke. Barrowman and Kitajima are close for second and third though.

  • better than Barrowman. Nobody has dominated the breast like Kitijama.

  • @juandi2570 Except for Ed Moses. His stroke was absolutely perfect. He was the best breaststroker of all time man.

  • Breaststroke, the most specialized of all strokes. Does anyone know of a breststroker who could win a free event too?

  • Like an officially event? Not really possible. Breaststroke is the slowest stroke out of the 4, the breaststroker's time wouldn't even meet the criteria.

  • No i mean like someone who could go to the olympics and win the 100 free AND the 100 breast. It seems that ur either a breaster or a breast/back/freer. Or ur just a freer. U dont see many that can be amazing at breast and another stroke.

  • Oh I see what you meant.

Yea, true. Hansen and Kitajima are only good in breast and only enters breast. And funny how Phelps good in fly and free but weakest in breast. I never seen it either.

  • Well Actually Hanson swims IMs too, but not at International meets

  • Just because he swims IMs doesn't mean he is good at it tho. Maybe that's the reason why he is not competing in international meets? I'm pretty sure all swimmers can do all 4 strokes, just the matter of good enough to meet the standard time.

  • Yeah i know

  • Comment removed

  • check your sources, tainted supplements, incidental positive test.

  • Can u hear the baby crying when everyone goes silent before the start lol:D Kitajima is awesome by the way

  • amazing efficiency. there is not any splash. doesn't have to generate the most power

  • ummm... he is generating the most power... its just the proper way to do breaststroke is to kick when you are completely submerged..in the streamline position so that all your power goes into nothing but moving you in no other direction but forward.

  • AMAZING !! j'adore ce mec

  • i love kitajima, the guy is amazing.kita owns phelps in this event.

  • Phelps isn't a breaststroker

  • i know, the point is kita still owns him, can we agree?

  • haha fair enough =D

  • lol yeah, kita is great nothing against phelps he's great to, but kita is my boy, lol.

  • lol alright. I just thought you were a michael phelps fanboy; feeling the need to compare anything swimming related to phelps =P Kitajima's awesome but i was kinda feeling sad for Hansen...

  • well hansen is cool, he aint ready, but i do wish there is someone who can give kita some competition i like good races like when that old guy from america ran down bernard from france i was like crap. i really wanted france to win that.

  • Hansen should've given him competition. As a former swimmer, I grew up watching and learning for Brendan Hansen's youtube vids....it was somewhat painful to watch him only come 4th...a 1,2 battle between Hansen and Kitajima wouldve been awesome =D. Jason Lezak, that finish was just godly. Yea i kinda wanted France to win too but for the sake of entertainment I'm glad Lezak pulled through =P

  • Don't know what the hell is wrong with Gyurta. He went 2:10 at age 14 and hasn't done shit in the past 4 years.

  • Sweet strokes, so smooth, this guy is the master of breastroke.

  • he is a true competitor!

  • KITAJIMA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • First things first suk my dik TEAM USA HANSEN DID NT EVEN GET A MEDAL does nt have any balls when it comes to play with the big boys.2 kitajima is a legend.3. fuk phelps FUK USA.and lastly daniel gyurta never qualified for the semis.

  • Brits are pussies. Kitajima has 2 world records...how many does Phelps have? That's right..4. No fucking comparison.

  • haha an american calling a brit a pussy - hypocritical retard

  • lol i know what you mean

hansen must be SO pised off - he was the world record hodler should have really won in athens and not only has he not won... he hasnt even got a medal!! i cant believe it tho, swimmers have improved so much this olympics it is getting ridiculous!!

  • Eh... Daniel Gyurta broke the olympic record in the Heats

  • i'm watching it right now. he just placed first and set a world record.

  • Kosuke Kitajima is going to tear shit up in the Olympics with two WR's in the breastroke events.

  • Anyone know where Daniel Gyurta's been?

  • he had participated in EC debrecen but im not sure in EC eindhoven =/

  • ya there doing partially well right now. height is an advantage in swimming but the one stroke that doesn't require height advantage is breast stroke.

  • swimhurl, i know yr IQ is less than 80, but japan is one of the countries who are considered good in swimming in the earlier olympics..together with US and australia. So, pls dont show yr ignorance here.

  • Im happy Japaneses are good at swimming, regardless of the body type structure, short height, short legs, short arms. Not very aquatic, but they still doing it!

  • They're surrounded by water.

  • fuck you douche

  • NO FUCK YOU UNPATRIOTIC BITCH

  • b4 the pale ass skin crackers started to swim. bitch as cracker. U CANT SWIM hahahahahaha. why didnt i see u in the olympic game??? because ur a true loser hhhhahahahahaha

  • hahaha u jelous dumb ass cracker~~~~~ beat dat record bitch

  • you can't talk about a sport you are not a part of, l2da...

leave the swim talk to the swimmers.

    Kita's a beast!!

  • wow hansen came 4th not 3rd r u retarded. kitajima is the best breaststroker period hell kill hansen in the 100 2.

  • unfortunately, hansen can't get him back. he placed 3rd in the 200 m breaststroke for the U.S. olympic trials. he won't even have a chance.

  • He wont have to worry about Hansen in the 200 in beijing.

  • yep cause hansen choked in the 200

  • his pullouts are amazing

  • best pullouts in the world

  • they're really weird cuz he kicks his dolphin kick in streamline and then pulls out

  • That's allowed btw...but only one fly kick

  • he is really a very good breastroker

  • damn!! when he swims, its like there is no resistance...I can never swim like that even if I had the LZR suit on

  • his breaststroke is seamless

  • Damn, I thought he'd never make a come back on Hansen, but GOD! Kitajimaaa!!!

  • hansen will get him back!!

  • ....apparently not

  • yeah. i still didn't believe my eyes when i saw that race

  • nope hes not going to the olympics and he wont be able to go again

  • looks like Hansen ain't gonna do much right......but still, God helps Shateau.

  • idolo....kousuke kitajima...un idolo!!!!

    grandissimo tempo...un WR meritato...rispetto x lui e x il nuoto....vedremo grandi gare a bejing 2008!
