The first minute or so, I had no idea what was going on -- and then I hear the celestial heartbreaking intro of the song...you're good. Wish I had a chance to play the damn thing.

The intro was okay...

The beginning of the song was great, for the first minute or so you really had it spot on, and there was plenty of room for improv... But after about 3:30 in, you kind of lost me. Yeah I know the song, and i know a lot about piano improv, but I think you lost the spirit of the Tori Amos song after a while, and were just musically stroking yourself by the end. It was nice though, for what it was. :J

Well, I think it's a little "too much" at times and gets sour because of that. Feels like a lot of melodies are thrown together in a pot - and they don't really mix...

But the original song is very well balanced in its intensity.

Originally this song, as you know, is on harpsicord and there is no sustain pedal on harpsicord, there is something on it that will prolong the notes and just the opposite there is something that makes the notes dry. But this song on piano is deff. a sustain pedal song. I'm sure you agree.

Your rendition is making me nastalgic in so many good ways. I still to this day play tori music at least several times a month and always make her songs my own. Who wants to do a 'cover' or pop song, just like the way the artist does? for open mic night maybe, but for musical savey peeps as her fans tend to be...a clever cover rendition is the way to go. DO
