There was no country 90 years before, to claim sovereignty over. Socialist revolutionary Mugabe conveniently forgets this simple fact, as he and his cohort propagate confusing 'God-given' natural resources with wealth, but swiftly expropriate such wealth for personal gain until the capital core is destroyed. Grace Mugabe, replete with diamond studded rings, swanks around Hong Kong. Zimbabweans die of cholera. Love what you've done with the place, Mr. President. You are a Hero, to be sure.
Sir Godfrey Huggins, Prime Minister of Southern Rhodesia (in 1933 the year of Hitlers rise to power) described the nature of black and white relation that he envisaged as similar to that of a horse and its rider.
I would be inclined to disagree with Sir Godfrey Huggins observation :-) The biggest calamity for black-African development has been the persistence of socialist indoctrination by the west, ironically enough. If more black-Africans were of a similar mind to Kenyan economist James Shikwati, Zimbabwe and Africa would be a much better place.
Today to you expect every white Zimbabwean to be entrepreneurial coz every white Zimbabwean has the intellectual prowess to succeed in business and will not work for a black Zimbabwean is reality. This needs to end in the hall of Africa if we want to be free. Zimbabweans need to see that the ownership of the MEANS OF PRODUCTION is the only way to liberate ourselves not to vote for someone to oppress us. The Liberation war for Zimbabwe was for land not for Mugabe or Tsvangirai.
@charlessmyth investments and free market that is open to everyone is welcome in ZIM but the irony is whites used to marginalize others feel uncomfortable in an intergrated society thats the problem. Some left S/A coz they didnt like a blck president (Mandela) in 1994 though he didnt tell anybody to go. Oppressive systems have to change coz thats people lost their lives for. If life was enjoyable for everyone as west is trying to TELL Zimbabweans about, then why there was resistance over land?
There is resistance over the land that the whites developed into productive farmland. Now that the whites are all gone, the land reverting to its pre-colonial state, and Zimbabweans will be fighting over international food-aid. The resistance over this land is a cynical political exercise by Mugabe and Zanu-PF who should have cracked down on the war veterans, not the whites. There were millions of acres of land freely available to be turned into farmland, but that would have required work.
@charlessmyth Probably the millions of acres that needed work is exactly what the white settlers didnt want to put some work on in the first place and reverted to easy solution of annexing fertile arable land from natives hence making them squatters in own country. why should natives do it now and not take their land which was illegally taken from them not by fellow Africans but by colonialists from Europe? Would you accept that in your own country mister or madam?
There was no country to colonise, and because what is now Zimbabwe is the size of Germany, a few thousand whites could not possibly have farmed all of it, even if the land was prime European farming land, which required no intervention during the many times of drought, etc. You and others are arguing your position from the perspective of a Marxist propagandist. And now with Zimbabwean expropriation of the cash-crop farms, the economy has collapsed.
So natives' hinterlands, worshipping sites, seasonal hunting areas were ok to be taken by Europeans? There were inhabitants who used its ranges for various purposes. even if they didnt use it definately wasnt a territory in Britain where settlers could have naturally claim ownership. Whether I am Marxist or not any economy that is built around racial lines is bound to collpase one way or the other anywhere in the world. Integration diffuses potential skirmishes and they didnt so why cries now?
The natives' hinterlands, worshipping sites and seasonal hunting areas were only sufficient to support less than half a million people with a life expectancy in the early thirties, at best. This would still be the case were it not for the international aid which keeps in excess of 10-million Zimbabweans alive, even if for no longer than their early thirties. Unless of course you are a a member of the Zimbabwean, Zanu-PF elite.
hinterlands and other uses is just to inform you that the land the coloniailsts declared as un inhabitted land, as an excuse of their invasion had more use to it inaddition to 90% of arable farm land. so theirs wasnt a viable excuse especially when an invader comes from thousands of kilometers in Britain.People have different cultural based use for land. And no one has the right to negate how people use their land for any reason. PERIOD. Stop crying about ZIM you dont care about them anyways.
save your breathe, they always have an excuse...the Falklands War, the Suez War and the Iraq War just to name a few recent events. It was East and South Africa's fault for letting them settle there in the first place. West African tales tale of eating some early whites...rightly done. i would do it again.
No substance in your pointless noises.. Native land was insufficient in 30's after being taken earlier on and put under commercial farming. life expectancy vs land is a bogus argument. land is issue had to addressed PERIOD. Soon ZIM will achieve food sufficiency as Malawi as things are improving by the day. LIE to people who read nonsense like you and believe it. but you cant lie to me. ZIM isnt part of Britain just forget it you have no business there now. bye
A culture which simply scavenges off the land is culturally unsound. Malawi is destitute, so is not a valid paradigm to base your frankly risible arguments upon. Nevertheless, Britain can be sanguine to the extent that Zimbabwe is now sufficiently stable for the tens of thousands of Zimbabwean refugees in the UK, to be repatriated to Zimbabwe, where they can work under the metaphorical lash of Chinese indifference, now that Zimbabwe has been effectively sold to China, by Zanu-PF.
Savengers or not; doesnt give you the right taking their land. PERIOD. UN has Malawi as an example did so by going against Agrarian Restructural Policies of WB that adviced nations not to support their farmers; You can feed on your wish that Africans can not change their life to rationalize ur oppressive mentality. NO more. a bit too late for that now.
Are U hurting because they now dont have to beg you for trade? So Britain wasnt indifferent to any of her properties? then why the fall out?
You need to read the CIA World Fact Book about Malawi and Zimbabwe, and stop being misdirected by UN propaganda, which both countries, as UN members have an interest in overstating their position.
Continue to hide behind CIA . fact is they dont have food shortage. I happened to work in the Dpt of Economic and Social Affairs at UN in 2008 so what I tell you is hands on info and not the bigotry and CIA fabricated propaganda used to invade other people; How possibly can the organization at the centre of African upheavals, jackals, assassinations and economic hitmen produce positive reports on African countries? Get some help. I think I am wasting my time with you. BYE BYE.
Propaganda simply means to propagate a message. This can be anything, including a postcard about how lovely your holiday to China was, and wishing you were here. So the CIA, by default, would be involved in propaganda, if for no other reason than to tell people about its services. However, Mugabe, and his lickspittles, use propaganda to tell lies about Zimbabwe, and about how many people they haven't murdered, this election cycle.
@charlessmyth aka mr capitalism..stay in Irland and out of people's business, specially African Affairs. We dont need your aids. The CIA, UN and all the other institutions Europeans think are so well organized are not welcome. As a 52year old, perhaps you're familiar with the way they messed Africa up. it will help very much if they stoped playing dirty games and let Mugame speak. I accept that he has not done much but he kicked Ian Smith's ass. That's enough.
Under Ian Smith and when Zimbabwe was Rhodesia, there was wealth and prosperity in the country. Under tyrants like Mugabe and his regional lickspittles, too much of sub-Saharan Africa descended into a genocidal hell-hole, as the millions of corpses, AIDS victims, and the fact that the life expectancy in Zimbabwe is now less than 35, clearly demonstrates. I would suggest you obtain a copy of Ian Smith's Bitter Harvest, read it, and then go and cry with shame, at your wilful ignorance.
Under Ian Smith, when black Zimbabweans were working on white owned farms and being called all sorts of names, there were no researches undertaking. So how sure are you that those blacks then were not suffering in their ghettos? The prosperity was only enjoyed by and for whites.
The prosperity enjoyed by the whites, had to be capitalized and worked for by the whites during the good years and the losses in the frequent drought years. The black workers were always free to return to their tribal lands, but must have found it more worthwhile to remain working for those evil whites, since as well as wages, they also had schools and hospitals to make use of. Under Mugabe, who is unfit to lick the sweat of Ian Smith's balls, they have nothing, , but a name on a grave marker.
our country is called Zimbabwe not Rhodesia. The land you are so bitter over, was never given to you freely. white people stole it from the blacks through the use of force and intimidation. life is a bi+ch though, coz about a 100 yrs later they lost it in the exact same manner. what can i say, thanks for the hard work, sweat and tears you put into developing it. i will spare you a thought ,next time i drive up to my new farm. It was NEVER yours, so get over it. Zimbos are resilient we'l recover
@drkchocolatguy No you won't recover. You're too stupid to farm it. You will end up just like other 56 nations in Africa. POOR. Zimbabwe will never be what it was when it was Rhodesia. Because blacks as a whole cannot do anything right.
@krellings First of all you need to make comments that make sense if you are going to comment. Second of all it sounds good to be able to say that, but the problem is you will not be able to do it. Again, look at the other 56 nations in Africa. How much proof do you need?
@jwednall My comment made perfect sense. Your response is typical of your kind, Condescending and dismissive. You came on a youtube video with the sole purpose of insulting an entire race because you are full of hate and ignorance, just look at your comments. How much more proof do you need?
@krellings I understand. So it's okay for you all to be racist but if I am I'm a bigot. Typical. I don't see you getting onto any of your black buddies for making racist comments about whites. As for me asking how much proof you need, how is that ignorant and hateful? I am just stating the facts but I am ignorant and full of hate because I'm white. If it were the other way around it would be fine.
@jwednall you're racist because you are purposefully ignorant and hateful towards an entire race of people. You make sweeping generalizations and then chastise me because I didnt "get on" any of my so called "black buddies" for saying equally hateful and ignorant things to white people. Well ok here it is. Shame on you black buddies for getting on youtube and calling white people names and accusing an entire race of being evil. Oh yeah, and stop crying about everything, it ticks jwednall off.
@krellings Just to let you know Zimbabwe does not rightfully belong to the blacks that are there now any way! You all stole it from the bushmen, but I guarantee you if the there were enough bushmen around to come back and kill you and take your land that you stole from them, you be crying just like you cry about everything else.
@charlessmyth note only that this is your opinion only, it is not a fact statics showed that only one percent of population owned wealth in former rhodesia, this is changing now under majority rule, however zim remains a developing nation, please separte your personal opinions from facts
/Freidun Taravosh teology student, uppsala univerisity and a furture candidate for a master in human rights
Under Rhodesia, what is now Zimbabwe, WAS a developed nation. The 1% ownership came from the earned wealth that came from doing work and risking capital. The increase in ownership that you talk of, is the temporary ownership of expropriation, as discussed in George Gilder's 'The Israel Test', which Zimbabwe miserably fails. The only direction that Zimbabwe is developing, is in the direction of a humanitarian, disaster area.
@charlessmyth charles. I suggest you obtain a copy of mugabe's our war of liberation, we are obviously of different opinions, and must learn to accept each others differences, I will visit the nordic africa institute tomorrow and look for the book you suggested again, but you should keep yourself updated on the HIV situation, it's getting better, and by the way, I guess we can only agree that we disagree with one another, you have your perspective I have mine, I admire mugabe you admire smith.
Very True.. as some people are using FOOD as leverage. They think Zimbabweans are only about FOOD which they can grow themselves with access to land and implements. Give them food colonize them.? Yeah till when??
GHANA and co. have to start processing their COCOA and get rich.. coz they dont need oil to get rich.
@charlessmyth When you discuss such issues never mention Kenya as an example my friend as they have the same problem of land being held a few settlers..the commotion during the last elections has its roots on the land issues as well as pro Kikuyu govt is necessary for the status quo to persist.. I suggest you find another better example. Kenya isnt.
Talk about rewriting history :-) This is straight out of the Chinese Communist Party propaganda playbook. Somewhat ironic now that Mugabe and his cohort have sold off Zimbabwe to the Chinese and laughed all the way to their Chinese bank. The only trade ever to occur with Arabs was when they raided that part of sub-Saharan Africa for slaves. A double irony since China supports the Janjaweed in Darfur via Khartoum. And triple irony: How do you like life in the evil, that is the UK.
im on a boat in the French Carribean not UK.Rewriting of Zimbabwean history is something the Rhodesians tried (but failed).I'll leave the twisting of facts to propaganda machines of the west like the BBC (B for Bullshit). But of course people like you swallow it all up. As for the slave trade, since you're in America i'd keep quiet about it if I were you. Money from China is being used to prop up America right now and Brown was kissing ass while signing trade deals with the chinese last week :-)
Have a nice time on that French yacht with Mugabe's daughter. Champagne-propagandists like yourself are always keen to twist history to your advantage, since you do not have to suffer the consequences of your propaganda, as was/is propagated about Rhodesia. I live in Northern Ireland, so you're wrong, again.
Thank you. Have a nice time too in Northeren Ireland - an outpost of true freedom and democracy free from political tyranny and violence where all are free from the effects of colonialism. Where there is real unity and a common purpose and where all have been free to express their political views without fear of harm befalling them. Lets leave all that and the murder and kidnappings to the Africans right? In Northern Ireland you are above that right?
@charlessmyth Now everything's so westernized and all the problems they face are a direct result of colonialism and its inferiority complex. They looked down on the lives of Africans and that was the same problem with Ian Smith. He thought his forefathers did africans a favor by colonizing them and bringing civilization. Which's clearly on the contrary. Its like saying "Ohhhh you're not good enough, try being more like me"
@charlessmyth yu're right abt your other facts but I must correct you on the point on country. I conclude yu mean,"Not westernized therefore, not a country." There were people living there in their own terms, making it a country. Not being westernized doesn't mean that the brits had a right to westernize them and build schools for them, roads & other stuff. They were fine on their own. They had food, and things that mattered to them.Think about it. how can yu miss a life yu never had
@charlessmyth you must be nuts to claim there was no country 90 years before, your ancestors didn't exactly conjure the land and it's inhabitants out of thin air i.e. assuming you are white.
if todd was alive we zimbabweans would give him the best fertile farm in zimbabwe

And now with Zimbabwean expropriation of the cash-crop farms, the economy has collapsed.
charlessmyth 2 years ago
So natives' hinterlands, worshipping sites, seasonal hunting areas were ok to be taken by Europeans? There were inhabitants who used its ranges for various purposes. even if they didnt use it definately wasnt a territory in Britain where settlers could have naturally claim ownership. Whether I am Marxist or not any economy that is built around racial lines is bound to collpase one way or the other anywhere in the world. Integration diffuses potential skirmishes and they didnt so why cries now?
intrepeco 2 years ago
The natives' hinterlands, worshipping sites and seasonal hunting areas were only sufficient to support less than half a million people with a life expectancy in the early thirties, at best. This would still be the case were it not for the international aid which keeps in excess of 10-million Zimbabweans alive, even if for no longer than their early thirties. Unless of course you are a a member of the Zimbabwean, Zanu-PF elite.
charlessmyth 2 years ago
hinterlands and other uses is just to inform you that the land the coloniailsts declared as un inhabitted land, as an excuse of their invasion had more use to it inaddition to 90% of arable farm land. so theirs wasnt a viable excuse especially when an invader comes from thousands of kilometers in Britain.People have different cultural based use for land. And no one has the right to negate how people use their land for any reason. PERIOD. Stop crying about ZIM you dont care about them anyways.
intrepeco 2 years ago
@intrepeco
save your breathe, they always have an excuse...the Falklands War, the Suez War and the Iraq War just to name a few recent events. It was East and South Africa's fault for letting them settle there in the first place. West African tales tale of eating some early whites...rightly done. i would do it again.
cataliciouscat 2 years ago
No substance in your pointless noises.. Native land was insufficient in 30's after being taken earlier on and put under commercial farming. life expectancy vs land is a bogus argument. land is issue had to addressed PERIOD. Soon ZIM will achieve food sufficiency as Malawi as things are improving by the day. LIE to people who read nonsense like you and believe it. but you cant lie to me. ZIM isnt part of Britain just forget it you have no business there now. bye
intrepeco 2 years ago
A culture which simply scavenges off the land is culturally unsound. Malawi is destitute, so is not a valid paradigm to base your frankly risible arguments upon. Nevertheless, Britain can be sanguine to the extent that Zimbabwe is now sufficiently stable for the tens of thousands of Zimbabwean refugees in the UK, to be repatriated to Zimbabwe, where they can work under the metaphorical lash of Chinese indifference, now that Zimbabwe has been effectively sold to China, by Zanu-PF.
charlessmyth 2 years ago
Savengers or not; doesnt give you the right taking their land. PERIOD. UN has Malawi as an example did so by going against Agrarian Restructural Policies of WB that adviced nations not to support their farmers; You can feed on your wish that Africans can not change their life to rationalize ur oppressive mentality. NO more. a bit too late for that now.
Are U hurting because they now dont have to beg you for trade? So Britain wasnt indifferent to any of her properties? then why the fall out?
intrepeco 2 years ago
You need to read the CIA World Fact Book about Malawi and Zimbabwe, and stop being misdirected by UN propaganda, which both countries, as UN members have an interest in overstating their position.
charlessmyth 2 years ago
Continue to hide behind CIA . fact is they dont have food shortage. I happened to work in the Dpt of Economic and Social Affairs at UN in 2008 so what I tell you is hands on info and not the bigotry and CIA fabricated propaganda used to invade other people; How possibly can the organization at the centre of African upheavals, jackals, assassinations and economic hitmen produce positive reports on African countries? Get some help. I think I am wasting my time with you. BYE BYE.
intrepeco 2 years ago
@charlessmyth
and the CIA WFB has no propaganda? remind me but how many African representatives do you see in both cases? tss grow up
cataliciouscat 2 years ago
Propaganda simply means to propagate a message. This can be anything, including a postcard about how lovely your holiday to China was, and wishing you were here. So the CIA, by default, would be involved in propaganda, if for no other reason than to tell people about its services. However, Mugabe, and his lickspittles, use propaganda to tell lies about Zimbabwe, and about how many people they haven't murdered, this election cycle.
charlessmyth 2 years ago
@charlessmyth aka mr capitalism..stay in Irland and out of people's business, specially African Affairs. We dont need your aids. The CIA, UN and all the other institutions Europeans think are so well organized are not welcome. As a 52year old, perhaps you're familiar with the way they messed Africa up. it will help very much if they stoped playing dirty games and let Mugame speak. I accept that he has not done much but he kicked Ian Smith's ass. That's enough.
cataliciouscat 2 years ago
Under Ian Smith and when Zimbabwe was Rhodesia, there was wealth and prosperity in the country. Under tyrants like Mugabe and his regional lickspittles, too much of sub-Saharan Africa descended into a genocidal hell-hole, as the millions of corpses, AIDS victims, and the fact that the life expectancy in Zimbabwe is now less than 35, clearly demonstrates. I would suggest you obtain a copy of Ian Smith's Bitter Harvest, read it, and then go and cry with shame, at your wilful ignorance.
charlessmyth 2 years ago
Under Ian Smith, when black Zimbabweans were working on white owned farms and being called all sorts of names, there were no researches undertaking. So how sure are you that those blacks then were not suffering in their ghettos? The prosperity was only enjoyed by and for whites.
cataliciouscat 2 years ago

Zimbos are resilient we'l recover
drkchocolatguy 1 year ago
@drkchocolatguy No you won't recover. You're too stupid to farm it. You will end up just like other 56 nations in Africa. POOR. Zimbabwe will never be what it was when it was Rhodesia. Because blacks as a whole cannot do anything right.

krellings 1 year ago
@krellings First of all you need to make comments that make sense if you are going to comment. Second of all it sounds good to be able to say that, but the problem is you will not be able to do it. Again, look at the other 56 nations in Africa. How much proof do you need?
jwednall 1 year ago
@jwednall My comment made perfect sense. Your response is typical of your kind, Condescending and dismissive. You came on a youtube video with the sole purpose of insulting an entire race because you are full of hate and ignorance, just look at your comments. How much more proof do you need?
krellings 1 year ago
@krellings I understand. So it's okay for you all to be racist but if I am I'm a bigot. Typical. I don't see you getting onto any of your black buddies for making racist comments about whites. As for me asking how much proof you need, how is that ignorant and hateful? I am just stating the facts but I am ignorant and full of hate because I'm white. If it were the other way around it would be fine.
jwednall 1 year ago
@jwednall you're racist because you are purposefully ignorant and hateful towards an entire race of people. You make sweeping generalizations and then chastise me because I didnt "get on" any of my so called "black buddies" for saying equally hateful and ignorant things to white people. Well ok here it is. Shame on you black buddies for getting on youtube and calling white people names and accusing an entire race of being evil. Oh yeah, and stop crying about everything, it ticks jwednall off.
krellings 1 year ago
@krellings Just to let you know Zimbabwe does not rightfully belong to the blacks that are there now any way! You all stole it from the bushmen, but I guarantee you if the there were enough bushmen around to come back and kill you and take your land that you stole from them, you be crying just like you cry about everything else.
jwednall 1 year ago
@charlessmyth note only that this is your opinion only, it is not a fact statics showed that only one percent of population owned wealth in former rhodesia, this is changing now under majority rule, however zim remains a developing nation, please separte your personal opinions from facts

The only direction that Zimbabwe is developing, is in the direction of a humanitarian, disaster area.
charlessmyth 1 year ago

Kenya isnt.

They have the same problem, for sure. A bankrupt country, and totally corrupt government. Well done Kenyans!

And triple irony: How do you like life in the evil, that is the UK.
charlessmyth 3 years ago
im on a boat in the French Carribean not UK.Rewriting of Zimbabwean history is something the Rhodesians tried (but failed).I'll leave the twisting of facts to propaganda machines of the west like the BBC (B for Bullshit).

I live in Northern Ireland, so you're wrong, again.
charlessmyth 3 years ago
In Northern Ireland you are above that right?

it is all those who understand the history of Africa that do back leaders like Mugabe, not necessarily propagandist, you fool.

Its like saying "Ohhhh you're not good enough, try being more like me"
amakaha1 1 year ago
@charlessmyth yu're right abt your other facts but I must correct you on the point on country. I conclude yu mean,"Not westernized therefore, not a country." There were people living there in their own terms, making it a country. Not being westernized doesn't mean that the brits had a right to westernize them and build schools for them, roads & other stuff. They were fine on their own. They had food, and things that mattered to them.Think about it. how can yu miss a life yu never had
amakaha1 1 year ago
@charlessmyth you must be nuts to claim there was no country 90 years before, your ancestors didn't exactly conjure the land and it's inhabitants out of thin air i.e. assuming you are white.
