i use to have one of these,i also had the van with ramp and trailer ,aswell as the drag racer with parachute.i bet they would be worth a few quid today if i had kept them.
why they never fetch some of these great classic toys out again i'll never know, i'm sure as adults now we would be the first to go out and buy one for a keep sake , because as a child we normaly wear them out, break them or swop them and wish we had looked after them better or kept them, also i would love to be able to buy my own kids some of these fantastic classic toys. but in saying that most toys in the 70's were made to last much longer compared to todays rubbish you can get.
wow!! heck ya i had one!! not only did it worked but wow it was fast i would launch it down the hallway and it would hit the wall flip over and come back lol.hey remember the cars with the one wheel in the back and a rip cord?? they were grate for giving your freinds or sisters rubber burns lol
I had a version of this toy ... did not get the snazzy circle of fire but man, this was one of my favorite toys ... i caused so much distruction in my house with that thing
Awesome video! I had that when I was in, like, 4th grade! I remember being so exxcited to get out of school and go to Toys R Us to get it. Thanks for posting this!
I haven't seen those in 30 years! I loved mine! I wish I knew what happened to... oh yeah, I jumped it off the second story porch at my grandparents house and... well, Evel didn't survive.
oh shittttttttt!!!!!!!! brings back the memories..toys were so great and simplistic back then..i remember revving up the bike and the higher the pitch got,the more excited i would get, knowing that he was gonna go speeding away..I also remember that if you held the bike, and revved the wheels on the floor,it would take off also.thanx for the video post.i dont feel 38 years old anymore
This video is HIGH-larious and brings back a lot of great memories too. I had all the Evel toys. I shared this vid on my Facebook. Oh the 70's. Sigh.......
This video is HIGH-larious! Brings back a lot of memories too because I had all the Evel toys when I was a kid. I shared this vid on my Facebook. Thanks!! Oh the 70's! Sigh.....
Stunning... I had one of those, and a Bigtrak, and a Grifter and a Kermit the frog with velcro pads and a bendy Animal muppet and a streak racing set etc etc
I use to make my Knievel jump off the house, all the kids in the neighborhood would come over and watch, kinda like a kiddy ppv event without the bucks but with all the hype!
On Christmas I used record albums to make a bigger ramp.. and faced it at the Christmas tree and busted up ornaments...pop! smash! crash!! glass all under the tree! good times!!
I used to go to Kmart or the corner drugstore and buy the cheapest male "action figures". Then, I'd douse them with lighter fluid, put 'em on the bike, light 'em up, and, let 'er rip!
I never get tired of watching thses videos. Mom used to get pissed when I'd try to get little EK to jump the dining room table. It's safe to say this toyline and Star Wars pretty much saved the toy industry back in the 70's. I recently recieved Playing Mantis blue & red jumpsuit EK from Ebay. Now I need to get my hands on the white jumpsuit EK set.
@sleepyhollowboy27 Actually, I recall that these were all hype. They never ran like the commercials (OK, nothing did, but these never lived up to that).
Wow...creep me the hell out man, he looked over at you before launching! Ha! What are the chances of his helmet vibrating to the side just like that at that exact time?! Save the vid big time, that rocked!
I just saw on the news that Evel's son jumped 24 buses at King's Island. Immediately made me think of this toy. So glad to see it's still be made, and that it's just as much fun as I remember.
there are few men i respect and even fewer that i like, evel knievel made both those lists. and like others who have commented, that toy and the man was my childhood. sure the toy was limited in terms of speed, power and trajectory capabilities thats what our imagination is for. good to see you guys at firebox videos still have yours! Evel Knievel a true American Icon!
Yeah he's alive lol.. he turns his head just before launch as if to say he's ready to jump lol - - well its really his loose helmet moving thru vibration.. but it looks mad
Yeah, way cooler than some junky-ass Rock'em, Sock'em Robots. I remeber winding the Stunt Cycle up an putting in my sister's hair. Not pretty!!! Possible root cause of present day psycho behavior.
That's Funny. The Christmas I got my stunt cycle, it's first jump was right into the Christmas tree and got those silver ice icicle stringy things tangled up in the gear. I could imagine what hair would do.
I had one of those when I was a kid. One of the few toys that could hold my attention for more than 60 seconds. COOLEST TOY EVER. Thanks for the memories, FireboxVideos.
i use to have one of these,i also had the van with ramp and trailer ,aswell as the drag racer with parachute.i bet they would be worth a few quid today if i had kept them.
