billy you speak to me. iam skint , and struggle from day to day . my dream as a van man is to do what you express so well, music , art , poetry, free myself . thankyou for the hope. love lagden x
I first heard about this guy through a "GQ" article. This is my first time watching a performance and hearing his voice. this guy is awesome, much more interesting than this virtuoso wannabes.(fyi, I didn't know much about him before, I'm not from albion unfortunately).
The way he talks is brilliant. "Then punk rock came along, and I liked that." No virtuoso 'the chordal tonation is brilliant' bullshit, just a real man talking. Plus the song is awesome.
There is nothing wrong the chordal tonation, even in punk, blues. or rock n' roll, its just another aspect of music. A real man would realise its stupid to disregard an area of music, just to sound like you have an 'gritty' attitude on the subject, ignorance isn't cool by a long way. Melody is cool, harmony is cool, rythm is cool, expression is cool. Music is cool, if the person doing it is real.
Thanks for posting these. The memories are kicking right back in! I was at both of these shows and helped these guys out with equipment at their shows in LA. Notice that Bruce Brand is playing with little brooms. He wanted drum brushes, but we didn't have any. At the end of the Jabberjaw show, Johnny and Bruce joined in for a short rendition of Interstellar Overdrive. good times!!!
If I could grow a mustache it would be his!

You Fucker! You rock, my brother!
I was at both the Jabberjaw show and the reading/art/gig at LACE. I still have the flyer I peeled off the wall!
Just the fact, that you remember Jabberjaw says everything!
