  • Sounds like moss from it crowd!!

  • brill review! should I go for this or 500d?? :D

  • great review

  • @KELLZ720 Thanks for watching & commenting.

  • What lens is on this camera?

  • you'll be impressed with the colors and hwo clean the photos are at high iso....you're pictures nare over exposed due to high iso....keep it down

  • I think it would have been better if you had videoed a person as im sure that what most would be using it for! It would have helped me more!

  • will Sandisk Extreme Video HD SDHC Card 16GB for HD cameras work if so i will get one?

  • do you mean graphics card for Camera or for the PC?

    what is one?

  • @jackie20ization PC, you need to speak with someone to ask if your PC is capable of playing back the videos. If you camera plays them back OK there is nothing wrong with the camera or SD memory card.

  • @davomrmac ok thanks for all the help I have a other camera and camcoder and they work fine on the PC just do not get it with this DSLR as soon as i go on the pc it cuts audio and goes very slow can you help me with this which one do i set it on ? • oh thanks so much ....i am really glad i got the answer........thanks so much

  • hi dav, thanks for reply...but i am asking for still photography not video...plz help .i want to see the image before capturing on lcd ,not viewfinder for still photograph.i know for video we have to press that live button.plz answer

  • @TheFix81 Liveview button works for photo too, press to enter liveview then shutter to take photo. This is from memory though as I no longer have the 550D.

  • as soon as i put the video that i took onto the PC it goes slow and cuts the audio what can i do?

  • @jackie20ization What is the specification of your PC?

  • @davomrmac sorry what do you mean?

    PC is Virster

  • @jackie20ization What processor, how much RAM and what video card?

  • @davomrmac not sure about the ram

but my card is a SD 32GB 10Class one

  • @jackie20ization I think it might be the specification of your PC causing the playback problems, does it playback alright on the camera with no audio issues?

  • @davomrmac yes on the camera it works fine but i put it on the pc and it is slow and cuts out the audio?

    what can i do?

do i have to have a loot of GB?

  • @jackie20ization I think this points to a performance issue with your PC not handling the large files that the Canon records. Try setting the Canon to record at a lower resolution (say 720P) and see if your PC plays those back OK.

  • @davomrmac ok i will try that

but if i want to use the 1080p will i have to get a new pc?

how do you find out about specification of your PC?

i have not load the disc just put the camera with the SD card in and look at them will it might work if i lord the disc for the camera in the pc?

  • @jackie20ization Yes try what you said. To play 1080P video back you need a decent graphics card.

  • @davomrmac I Have a 32GB Class 10 SD Card is that ok?

  • @jackie20ization Should be. By graphics card I was referring to what is installed in your PC.

  • @davomrmac it still does not work i will try and get that card

  • @TheFix81 press the live view button on the back of the camera.

  • your hands are sexy

  • @MrBFHfan Thanks :)

  • Now £650 with kit lens! Phenomenal camera.

Video also works very well even in low light.

  • @moshpotpaul Great update, great price.

  • hi dave

    very nice video

tell me did you use any editing program for this video, and and do you compress this video before posting in youtube if so tell me in what proram

  • @mash012 That'll be Final Cut Express.

  • Just thought I let you guys know there was a firmware update released late November for the 550D / T2i. The current up to date version is now 1.0.9.

  • @4funky1 Thanks for adding this.

  • @4funky1 how do i update it?

  • @davomrmac when you shoot in movie mode, when you zoom in and out the exposure varies, this problem still occurs even after i hit the lock button., in movie mode i first lock the exposure-hitting the * button and then start start recording, when i zoom in our out the exposure varies making the video go bright to dark n vice-versa, tried doing this in both AUTO and MANUAL exposure and iam using MANUAL FOCUS

    using 18-55 lens

pls help am stuck here shooting for a proj :(

  • @coolestspott69 Check you have that * button set to lock the exposure in your menu.

  • @davomrmac cant find any setting to set the * ke exposure in menu!!!!!!!!!!! :(

  • @coolestspott69 Hmmmm not sure and I no longer have this model to check. Anyone else help? @theunits3

  • @davomrmac I can check it out in a few days when i get my 550d :)

But i dont think i know why the exposure changes, Some lenses can't keep the same apperture through the whole zoom range, and when you zoom in the apperture becomes smaller (Bigger value) and requires a longer shutterspeed to keep the same exposure :)

  • i have a question,

I can't make up my mind between the 550d and slt a33

    wich 1 should i get?

im a beginner and i am mostly interested in the movie capabilitys

(im tending towards the 550d because of more video options and more manual control)

  • @mbielchris Hard one to answer. I would go for the A55, which is a good price with the Sony VAT back (if you are in the UK).

  • @davomrmac

i do not live in the UK, so the a55 is a little too expensive for me, the 550d and the a33 are about the same price here (belgium) but the 550d is a couple of euros cheaper.

  • @mbielchris 550D is great video and photo combo. I would choose the A33 if you have a bit of interest in sports.

  • @davomrmac i don't think i'll be shooting alot of sport, mostly just random moments with friends i guess, maybe make an amateur movie and such things.

    I guess i'll go for the 550d.

Anyways thnx alot for your help : )

  • lol the intro music sounds like a dog barking

  • should i go for this or the d7?

  • @rottweiler1993 7D btw. you have to see if you are still learning or is already not bad in photography.

  • do you think that this would be a good camera for a beginner ?

  • @MissZofiee Yes, put it in auto to start off, then P mode, then gradually learn it and the camera will grow with your ability.

  • help..may i noe..was it because of my memory card is new that why when i was trying to take out the card..it stuck..and i have to pull it out..while i use some other card..it doo stuck but not as worce as the first card..wad happen?

  • Whats the size of a HD video? Lets say a video recorded on 1080p on 1 minute?

  • @vasbyollu 330MB/minute, quality is pretty good

  • which is the best memory card that you recommend for this camera??

  • @fanihaha Any class 6 or higher should be good. I would recommend the Verbatim Pro range.

  • hi i just want to ask why is it every time i use the video it stopped at after 10secs??thank you

  • @didzjm23 This is probably due to using a slow memory card. Try a class 6 card.

  • I would so go to your recommended camera store, but i'm in aust so thats a slight problem. however AWESOME STUFF

  • I want to do expressive portrait/nature photography and im looking for main features such as fast shutter speed, really clear and defined images, and aperture priority. Im tossing up between this camera and the 50d (both in kits). Im just a beginner, but really really keen. What do you recommend?

  • @lizcmify I will leave this open to more experienced photographers to answer, thanks for your comment though.

  • @lizcmify Every DSLR has fast shutter speeds (most have up to 1/4000s), aperture priority mode and good image quality... More important for sharp images are the lenses and the photographers skills ;)

  • @microwawe Great comment.

  • I laughed so hard when he said that the memory card gets stuck some times. thats the problem with the best of the best. people start to cratique even the littlest things.

  • @AblueTee :)

  • I Have question and it's very important for me i want buy the canon EOS 550 D .you have nice experiences about this camera and other things . is it ok if i buy memory Delkin SD PRO 32GB 150X class 8 and 22MB/s for this camera for full HD recording movie . because just is it in my country . please answer about this message . i love this camera and i want use of every thing of this camera and i don't know the Delkin SD PRO 32GB is it?

  • @profsorxxx Anything Class 6 or above should be fine for HD recording. So the memory card you are saying should do it easy :)

  • Is it worth buying the 18-55mm kit lens with the body for someone who just started with photography?

  • @jhnlay Yes, this offers very good value.

  • Are you able to take a photo when youre recording a movie?

  • @sfuk89 No, you can't it is a separate process.

  • @sfuk89 Yes you can!

  • @sfuk89 Yes, actually you can. It takes a seperate picture as a seperate file. The video actually freezes for about a second and loses the audio for that second as well.

  • I was going to address that lighting issue problem you mentioned, but then its good that you realized the exposure lock wasn't on.

    Good Review.

  • @productfeedback Thanks.

  • Good videos Dave. Don't understand groomlakes comment. I found the 4 in the set to be a super introduction to the camera and of great help in making an expensive decision. As I posted earlier - I purchased one and and they helped me get a quick understanding of the many functions - as just like all real men - I rearly read manuals. Thanks- Alan. South Africa.

  • @Badmoodboy Thanks Alan.

  • Hi Dave, just a question. Are you sure that it was the exposure changing and not the lens aperture? If the lens is for example from F4.0 to F5.6, then wouldn't the lighting change either way when you zoom in and out? Just wondering, because then the only solution really would be to buy an expensive zoom lens that has a fixed aperture.

  • Good point, you are right.

  • knid of a thin review in 4 Parts.

Basicly a commercial for some website.

  • Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but a lot of work goes into the reviews. I hope that viewers find the info useful.

  • like the music at 2:00. What is it?a very usefull set of reviews since there seems to be a shortage of 550D review videos at the moment. If the sensor on the 550D is smaller than the 5D MKII, does that mean that the quality of the high definition video will not be as high on the 550 as the MKII, even on the same 1080p setting?

  • The music is called Jaracanda, it is an Apple Loop. As for the quality question, not sure. Maybe it would determine the low light performance more, so well lit scenes should be of equal quality. Anyone else care to answer this one?

  • Thanks for the review... Did you use lens stabilisation on the video shots, and does the mic pick up lens noise?

  • Yes, I had the IS active on the lens. Also, if you listen carefully on this video you can hear the IS working in the audio. It is only just audible though.

  • props on the review

  • Cheers.

  • Thanks so much for these review videos Dave, I'm pretty much certain I'll be upgrading to this from my 450D now. Very interested in the video modes, along with the better screen and wider exposure compensation and ISO ranges.

  • you seem to live near a very beautiful coast! :D

  • awesome video as always dave ive got the same cam and its totally awesome

  • Thanks for the cool comment. The 550D is great isn't it!

  • how much was it?

  • It is now £769 with the kit lens.

  • hihi
