It follows an ABAB structural format and the chords follow basic tonal voice leading (with the exception that this is rock music and follows pop conventions rather than classical). Blink-182 does the same thing. Lyrically it is similar too. Talking about drinking, sex, having erections and all sorts of other similar topics to add a shock value to the music. It all seems very similar.
