  • No way this movie gets made today.... Sad really... I remember watching this movie as a child. Not once did race enter my mind. Just a fun story.

  • That is one way to get off a camel...

  • Er, but aren't nights in the desert COLD?

  • I come from a land, from a far away place Where the snow-dog sleds roam Where it's flat and immense And the cold is intense, It's barbaric, but hey, it's home. When the wind's from the east And the snow's from the west And the frost in the glass is right Come on up Stop on by Grab a Zamboni and drive To another Canadian night. Canadian nights Like Canadian days It's overly cold This really gets old But you can keep warm In a lot of cool ways!
  • arabia for life

  • you forgot the "to close, a little to close" part xD

  • if there is anything i appreciate about disney is the music, lyrics and visuals. Even though aladdin had some computer generated animation in it, it still was an explosion of color, style and jaw dropping visuals. too bad they became such a shitty company

  • @undeadelite

I agree to an extent, I thought Princess & The Frog had really nice visuals, it had a touch of "old Disney" back.

  • Originally the first verse of this song was:

"Oh I come from a land, from a far away place,

    Where the caravan camels roam,

Where they cut off your ear if they don't like your face,

It's barbaric, but hey, it's home."

It was changed by request of Jay Goldsworthy and Casey Kasem.

  • It still confuses me that in the original story Aladdin is Chinese. Disney's version makes more sense xD

  • cool cool

  • fucking great song, gives u that mysterious egyptian kind of feeling. the setting in this movie is so cool in general. i fucking love it. best movie everrrrr

  • arabian nights are arabian days but only with moon and all those bright starts

  • this aint original

  • 0:58

    Gotta love that part!

  • @2nevery1139 thts my fav part too... love it

  • DID YOU SEE THE LOST EPISODE WHERE GENIE TURNED CARPET IN TO AN AIRPLANE?

  • I am SHOCKED that PETA didn't sue Disney for displaying animal abuse in this scene. After all, they sued Nintendo for much more trivial animal abuse in Mario games.

  • @ZhangtheGreat what animal abuse

  • @ch0wac1, look at that camel. Look at how much it's carrying, and look at how exhausted it is when the peddler dismounted. And how DARE he dismount by sliding down its neck. It's animal cruelty, I tells ya! =P

  • This should be MUCH longer! <3

  • I love Aladin, story was set in Baghdad, Iraq :)

  • Nathan Drake probably sang this while wandering the dessert (I know i would)

  • @georgethegreek13 Desert* ;)

  • @georgethegreek13 yea he probaly did

  • Branden Jordan

  • aladdin is my schools muscial so im gonna sing this to audition.I WILL SING THIS SONG IN THE MUSICAL IF MY LIFE DEPENDS ON IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • "people are full with greed

    they can sell their soul

its material but hey its home...

    welcome to another american day..."

well, if it is so easy to describe arabs as throat cutters, it should also be easy to define americans as greedy&materialist people...

Please, don't take it serious, i just wrote that down to remind u the what is sympathy.

  • i bet someone, somewhere thinks this is racist just because its about arabians

  • Maybe if more people paid attention to politics the world wouldn't be the shit hole it is now!! If you have to come on disney music and politics just happen to be the discussion, I suggest you read up on it a bit. At least you can jam out while you find out how corrupted the world really is.

  • in my country we eat ''salam'' !!! :)) anyway nice intro...

  • they better play this for the World Cup 2022 in Qatar!!!

  • What the-- I had a craving to listen to this song o.O then I see all these racial comments. Umm... It's a kid's movie...

  • as a Kid I always thought Aladdin took place in Egypt but I guess I payed no attention to the opening song I did'nt even know what Arabia was back then

  • @TheSpaniard1521 Arabia is kind of close to Egypt. I always thought it was India, because the palace looked a lot like the Taj Mahal.

  • @NinaQueenofSpades yea the Muslims did control Egypt and brought Islam to Egypt so it does seem kind of likely but in the third film Julius Caesar makes a small appearance meaning it takes place during the Roman empire which makes it the Parthian empire but I always thought it was the Ottoman empire or the Seljuk Turks this I thought when I was in 12 I am now almost 14 turning 14 on December 30th

  • @TheSpaniard1521 first of all you americans are so utterly retarded thanks to your jewish controlled media. secondly, arabia is nothing like india, its the cradle of civilization. 3. egypt IS arabia. 4. during the roman era, guess what syria was called? Arabia. it was arabian before islam.

  • no you are mistaken my friend we are not taken over by the Jews that is lies they feed you Arabs as children to make you hate us but you are lost my friend like in the bible a young boy asked his father for money because he was departing to start his life by himself but instead of using the money wisely he spent it all. You are in that state right now of being lost, and I will pray for you, so you may open your eyes, and be found once again, or be found for the first time in your life

  • No, you moron, I am not mistaken. A. I was raised in Canada. B. Its doesn't take a genius to notice the population of Jews, vs the positions of power and influence that they hold. C. you are an ignorant new age christian, and therefore by default, a retard, whom no one sane would take seriously.

  • @TheSpaniard1521

Yeah to be honest... forbes billionaire richest 100 list... 25 are Jews.

  • @TheSpaniard1521 I thought it was India too!! because Jasmine could walk around in weather appropriate clothing and not get buried chest high and stoned!! lol J/K J/K

  • Arabian nights,

    Like Arabian gaaayyys XD

  • @TheSickRevolt don't like it when they say that the Jews ethnically cleansed Palestine. Did the Jews revoked their residency? Did they make them march to the border while holding guns? Did they deprive them of any rights? Don't think this has any veracity at all.

  • @Hperman09

    ^^^ obvious jew.

  • I didn't come here to hear about politics...I only wanted to hear an Aladdin song :(

Must ALL of you RUIN a kids song with this?

I don't know about you, but I don't think the children watching this movie were debating political control in Israel.

  • @rosy48842

    XD, i meant WERE NOT

  • Dudes its a kids movie, leave the politics behind! Just enjoy the story and the song!

  • @flashuk100 You also ignored the fact that Israel is responding to a threat against the Gaza population which any reasonable country can be expected to do. Moreover, Israel took great steps to try and ensure the safety of citizens including dropping over a million leaflets warnings of impending attacks and calling 10,000s of households to warning them. Hamas do don't that, they don't warning Israelis of impending attacks, all they want in destruction.

  • @Hperman09 "watch /watch?v=wM2S0L6xW5c"

  • @flashuk100 So Israel should allow to the rocket attack by the Hamas? You talk about the disproportionate use of force then states that Israeli's Army is weak. Well i don't know why you'tr whining about the Hamas then.

2nd their goal wasn't about to kill all of Hamas it was to stop the rocket attacks. In a year before they fired 3000 rockets. In the year following they fired less than 300.

Oh ya Israel is monster for allowing "toy" rockets attacks in their country. Ptttffffffff

  • @Wassouf10 Funny thing is that Palestinians didn't ask for a state under Jordanian rule, now all the sudden when Israel ruled them, Palestinians asked for a state. In 1948, Palestinians were offered for the creating of a state, yet most of them said no. So who fault was it for the lack of peace? Even Iran called for the destruction of Israel and backs Hamas to attack Israel. Either it's Arabs want peace or no? When Hamas controlled Palestine, it was very poor compare to Israel.

  • Dude you're kidding? Palestinians in Israel work together with Israeli authorities. They build the wall to prevent suicide murder bombing and guess what it worked. Israel gave back Gaza even though they have no justifiable reason to & what they did get in return? Rocketing attacks from Hamas. Hamas is the reason for lack of peace.

Palestinians were polled in Israel and most of them rather live under Israel as opposed to Palestinian rule.

why don't you Arabs accept Israel right to exist?

  • @Hperman09 Since when did israel give back gaza, you mean after they bombed it illegally and used white phosphorus and killed 3000+ people, and after all that and more!

how can you ask the palestinians to live with a state that is based on the idea of erasing an indigenous population you can never replace, palestine will have its freedom because its theirs to have!

  • SHUT UP. AND ENJOY THE MUSIC. ): you're ruining a kid's day EVERYDAY 'cause you're arguing about politics, on a video which is supposed TO BE FUN.

  • @iiJessx im sorry, its just that you americans, especially the new generation of tweeners, are so confoundedly retarded. it makes me realize that we really are screwed.

  • @issareign Lol, Lets see how im retarded: I Go on a video that is disney, cute, and funny, I read the comments. they're talking about the military and how homosexual people weren't allowed or were allowed in the military in certain countries, I make a comment saying that peeps should chill, enjoy the video, and go back to the news and discuss this stuff. Kids ages 7~10 don't need to know about this stuff.

P.S I'm not american.(: Way to make yourself look racist, and stereotypical.

  • @iiJessx You are a retard though.

  • @issareign Yea, and you're a genius.

  • i am watching a video about an awesome part of the movie and i see comments about gays in the military? why talk about gays being allowed in the military just watch the video, unless YOU are gay or in the military it doesn't need tone conflicted on an ALADDIN video

  • What? I dont know? How do YOU know? Most gays are just secretive in the military in i dunno LIKE EVERYWHERE. And yes saudi arabians SUCK i dont like stuck up UNSENSITIVE people either. But one country's standards on gays is absolutly going to be different from other country's. And i dont think that there is a problem with gays in the military in the ME unlike in the US that which was a big issue.

  • @TheSickRevolt The U.S. already allowed Gays in the military, yes we still have issues but so do most countries. They are still many nations in the west that still don't gay marriage. BTW, gays were trying to get rights in most ME nations most of them denied.

  • @Hperman09 you know this isnt getting anywhere sooooo yea....i still dont like gays

  • @TheSickRevolt Your gay! OMG JUST TOOK PART IN A FLAME WARRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! lolololololol

  • @debluemonkey wow when did this happen?

  • The Middle east is a nothing but religious tribal dump as of today. We should get out of Afghanistan after the Bin Laden operation in which that location happened to be our ally, Pakistan.

I remember this movie was made almost a year and a half when U.S. forces pushed the Iraqi Army out of Kuwait in 1991.

Most of the ME also lacked human a lot of human rights records.

As least the Jewish state of Israel, the only democratic country in the ME, provided gays and non-Jews with certain rights.

  • @Hperman09 The ME is not a religious tribal dump, you havent even been there all. All you've probably seen was on the news like CNN. To know a place you have to first visit it. Israel and "human rights" dont make me laugh. Israel tries everyday to push the palestinians out of their borders even though they were there first. I know a lot more about the ME because Im from there.

  • @TheSickRevolt Personally i don't know much about the Israel/Palestnians conflicts that much because that had to do with foreign policy and this is why I don’t follow politics, because people like you take things out of context and blatantly ignore history just so you can play favorites with groups, etc. For domestic issues, Muslims in Israel have same rights as the rest of Israel as well as allowing gays to serve in the military. Does Arab nations do that? Not really.

  • @Hperman09 Sorry to rain on your parade but you just said you are not into the conflict yet you take sides. but why? let's say Israel is a Democratic country , that doesn't change the fact that Israel was created on the expense of another country . will it make sense to you if we come to texas , murder and kick it's citizens saying " at least we are democracy ? " , BTW there are Jewish PM in Bahrain .furthermore , visit my kids video and watch how the only "democracy" is working .

  • @3asifah Like i said, people take things out of context and spin it to make it support the other side or the other. That had to do with foreign policy, do i fucking care as much? No. Gays in Israeli military was allowed to serve in the military, the Arab nations don't. I mean Bahrain Saudi Arabia, and others have dictatorships with little human rights.

  • @3asifah Israel is no democracy, this is one of the biggest lies. I dont even bother debating on youtube because the zionist puppets are too stupid and annoying

  • @3asifah hes clearly deluded.

  • @Hperman09 LOL so thats what it comes down to? israel providing gays with rights..... israel is not the only democratic country in the middle east. god you people are fuckig hopeless!

you deserve what you have coming america!

  • I actually like the censuerd more XD

  • hell i have family in saudi arabia and i LOVE this song!

    ARABIAN NIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGHTS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • I love to sing this. Too bad everyone get upset when I do.

    ARABIAN NIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIGHTS,

  • @HeimdallTheFalcon what animal abuse ?

  • @YouStupidSonofaBitch ....Huh? I have said nothing about animal abuse......What are you speaking of?

  • as a child, i always thought that the guy was changing the tone of voice. i guess thats not the case anymore

  • Barbaric but it's home...that could be used to describe the trailer park I grew up in! lol

  • Everything's racist, remember? The background colour of YouTube is racist.

  • That poor camel...

  • I am an arab and i don't find this insulting at all, in fact i luuuvvv this brings back soo man memories <3

  • Den svenska är bättre! Tumme upp alla svenskar!

  • i want my kids to grow up listening to how we cut off other pplz ears

انها عنصرية ، لكن مهلا منزل

  • this reminds me a bit of Poor Unfortunate SOuls..

  • please listen the italian version :) his voice sounds more harmonious and powerful and sweet and... ok I can't describe it :)

  • i really love the beat of this song

  • @Shoavak, Originally, the lyrics that immediately preceded that line went, "Where they cut off if they don't like your face," in the theatrical release of Aladdin.

  • i dont get how people would say this movie is Indian when they are clearly singing Arabian nights.

  • @sharif237 it's the clothes.

  • @ThePaperPineapple: Yes absolutely. I have the original soundtrack album and it exactly says as you mentioned! I was surprised when I listened to this video!

  • This video is the censored version. They changed, "where they cut off your ears, if they don't like your face," into "where it's flat and immense, and the heat is intense."

  • the original version of this song say "where they cut off your ear if they don't like your face"...disney had to change it. stupid lawyers.

  • this is the best disney cartoon

  • I like how Disney made movies about different cultures.

  • Where they bite off your ear if they don't like your face, it's barbaric but hey, it's home. ;)

  • I love how the composer Alan Menken is the very first one credited. ^-^ <3

  • @Shoavak

Oh yeah, because they're such a kind and open minded people that like and accept you for who you are...

  • @Shoavak Barbaric is referring to the harsh weather/environment of the desert...how's that racist? I am from the Middle East and I can assure you that the desert can be merciless.

  • @metalheadlass Well, actually, the original lyrics before that line said: "Where they cut off your ear if they don't like your face" So, the line probably referred to that. Some anti-discrimination group made them change those lyrics.

  • @MidoriFlygon omg, really? Well, then I agree with you.

  • @Shoavak lol that's hilarious and true

  • @Shoavak Another example off the top of my head: the brown cow (Bessie I think) was the only one portrayed as black

  • @Shoavak How exactly is that racist?

  • @Shoavak

How? They're talking about a hot desert.

  • @Shoavak is the tipical example of person who doesn't know what's mean "racist"

    sory for my wrong english

  • Comment removed

  • @Shoavak he's talking about the heat dumbass canadian

  • im cut as and this is fukin awesome

  • reminds me of when i use to live in the desert for 10 years, 10 years ago. it is a place for adventure at day and the night is a wonder for your imagination to roam when your a kid.

  • india =/=arabia

  • "please, please come closer...TOO CLOSE!"

one of my favourite lines of all time :)

  • AHHHHHH salaam and good evening to you <3

  • arabian cockssssssssssssssssssss

    like arabian dickssssssssssssssssssssss

  • @issareign

I cant believe you said that, its rare to hear a non arab say that, but yes I agree.

  • This is slightly racist . "it's barbaric but hey its home", Americans still think it is like this lol.

  • @shamoil4444 A) It's Disney. You want to talk about inaccuracies? We can go through half of their movies at least. B) This isn't modern Arabia. Besides, to a lot of the world, those are pretty harsh conditions to live in.

However! I'm not saying there aren't ignorant people out there who think this is totally accurate. >.<

  • @shamoil4444 in more ways than not it is still like that. I've lived in the Middle East for ten years and trust me, things do get barbaric. Plus, what do you expect? it took place in the hundreds AD. Of course it's gonna be barbaric in that time period.

  • Comment removed

  • @shamoil4444

I know, its true, lol. The media wants you to see Arabs as uncivilized barbarians with oil.

  • best musical..EVER

    <3 CA Adventure

  • Where they cut off your ear if they dont like ya face its barbaric but hey its home, its barbaric but hey its the original lyrics Disney Jerks

  • Do anyone have an instrumental version?

  • OK is it just me or can everyone hear the difference in the voice where Disney edited the original lyrics "where they cut off your ear if they don't like your face, it's barbaric but hey it's home" at :21`1

  • @UchihaSurvivor360 that's an epically bad voice edit.

  • AAAARRRRAAAABBBBIIIIAAAANNNN NNNNIIIIGGGGHHHHTTTTSSSS!!!!

  • say does anyone know what instruments are used for orchestrament for the aladdin movie theme song arabian nights

  • so doing this as the opening song for the arabian nights panto I'm writing (:

  • Unde pot asculta varianta cantata de Horia Brenciu, care era pe TVR 1 prin 1997-1998 ????

  • I know this is said alot, But I'm so happy that I grew up with all the Disney classics. Kids these days are truly missing out.

  • @coifgx I don't know, I'm under the impression that these retarded kids wouldn't like it if they watched them.

  • I had the biggest crush on Aladdin when I was a kid :D

  • Best in Norwegian...

  • love this song

  • classics... they should never have stopped these

  • german version is much better.

  • I liked the old lyrics better. "Where they'll cut off your ear if they don't like your face, it's barbaric but hey it's home"

  • we r sinsing this in choit its a solo fingers crossed i get it

  • Please come closer...IED!Boom!. hahaha. But seriously, I missed being a kid.So ignorant of the pointless violence in this world.

  • @imnotfrommilkyway how old are u now?

  • Arabian Niiiiight!!!!

  • hahaha... arabian niiiiiiiight

  • Wow, remember when the Middle East was a magical place with geneis and flying carpets, and WASN'T a huge war zone? If this was made today Jafar would probably be in kahootz with Al Queda or some bullshit like that...

  • @megamuffin15 That still sounds better than 99% of the shit Hollywood puts out today.

  • @TheShammyShammy I know...

  • @megamuffin15 What are you talking about? Historically, the Middle East has ALWAYS been a huge war zone. Just read the bible and already you have an endless number of massacres and wars. Let's not forget the Romans trying to get Jerusalem and basically conquer everything. And then we can't forget the Crusades. After that a bunch of war because of the ottoman empire trying to survive...

  • @classifieds103 no, the middle east hasnt been anything the rest of the world already isnt. the whole world is a war zone, its just that the middle east has the most history, because..... duhhh american turd, its the cradle of civilization. how about europe? its been the exact same thing, only worse because the people were, are, and will always be ignorant savages!

  • @megamuffin15 actually when this movie was made the middle east was a war zone

it's been like this for more than a century now because of the imperialistic greed for it's wealth and fortunes

  • @megamuffin15

Appearantly someone doesn't remember Russia in the 70's and 80's, and mayhaps needs a copy of Charlie Wilson's War for a refresher course.

  • Also, the middle east has always been in conflict in one area or another. The struggle among the Palistinians/Muslims/Israelis dates back several hundred years.

  • @megamuffin15 The Middle East has always been a huge war zone, particularly after World War 2. We just had less of a reason to focus our attention on it.

  • @HumanSockPuppet The main questions who is the responsible of all these wars in the Middle East? and who create Al Qaeda? and who destroyed a country like Iraq killed more than a million ppl and more than 5 million refugees?? who give the green light to Israeli occupation forces to kill as much as they like from the Palestinian children and women!!

  • @megamuffin15 LOL ..Is that the only thing in your head about the Middle East on this time? the west media success to wash the brains of a lot of ppl

  • @SAMSAL10 Alright I'm suck of this shit I need to clarify. When I say "and WASN'T a huge war zone" I don't mean it literally. I know the Middle East has been plagued by war and conflict for most of its history. What I mean when I say it is how we, as CHILDREN, imagined it. Only to grow up and realize the sad truth about the world.

There, not STFU and leave me alone people.
