@BDevilScholar Guile actually only has 2 specials, so most of his game is turtling and trying to catch your opponent with sonic booms. This is not an amazing Guile (I didn't see a single combo in the entire video, and obviously his attempt to wakeup ultra to escape was a bad idea).

1: I always laugh when I see the "go down like a G @ 5:41" comment. 2: To all the "I hate when people play defensive with Guile" comments: Guile is actually a naturally defensive player by design, as different fighters have different stles. some are flashy like Ken, some are naturally built for offense like Juri and Ibuki, some are close range like Gief, some are all-around players like Ryu, etc. It's all about what you prefer. Not meant to be an attack. Just some extra info.

Dude...I main guile thanks to this video. And totally demolish cats online. As far as my "unoficially uninformed" opinion goes: Guile seems to be a naturally defensive fighter. I suppose that's what the "charge back" thing is all about. I use that logic to always catch jumping enemies as I'm moving back. I hit them with a boom on their way down at least 5 times a match and they don't know how to respond to it...

Guile has many isues as char, and is not about just people complaining all over him, it is a fact. His flashkick can be beaten easily, even EX version (Try it against a Jump MK form abel). It is completly useless vs cross ups... recovery time on same move is awfully big, even on EX version (compare other recovery times like balrog's,vega,sagat,etc,etc). Guile's MK range is so short, cant even be compared against previous versions of this same kick. Ultra is weak. Want more?

simple solution, if you beleive all of those as a problem then dont use him. me i only use the flash kick in a combo and if they jump in down fierce works just fine. you people need to learn how to adabt to somthing, if somthing dosnt work good then use somthing else, its not rocket science

@AlienBusDriver You need to set it up with teleport, that's why he has it. His fireballs are slow, but that allows him to jump into his fireballs as bait as well. Close the gap and use it, it's not meant to be used from far range like the Metsu Hadouken.

Guile could have simply woke up on dash back when Dhalsim went for the Ultra chip finish. I'm pretty sure I've pulled it off brfore but \i don't have the game so I'll need to double check!

No , he had to get up quickly just after he hit the floor. Because he didn't hit the button just in time, he had to wait. And Dhalsim timed his ultra perfectly that only thing that Guile can do about this ultra would be guarding himself and for that the would die because of chip damage. I played more than 500 games with guile online and i think he played very well however in 3rd and 4th game he didn't set the space right. He had to get close to Dhalsim no matter what.

Actualy, Looking back at the video, Dhalsims Ultra chip attempt was more than escapeable. In fact, I went to training the other day and if the ultra is not directly above your body on wake up or you're not against the wall, the dash back will get you away. The only reason i'm thinkin he didn't dash back is because he was expecting a yoga teleport. Now you do know the dash back has an invincible frame right?

I didn't know that it had invincible frame rate. Then I guess like u said he was either expecting a teleport or he was in panic. Losing consistent rounds sometimes causes players to panic and do stupid things.

Jeez you are soooooo spot on with that comment. I loose too many rounds in a row and I can often loose form too. But yeah, the invincible frame on the dash back is great for escaping tip throws and block string combos. You just have to be careful because the frame is pretty short. Have to learn to master the timing! I still haven't!

Both players are pros. This Guile is very good, he actually beat the Dhalsim back twice after this, search for them. Dhalsim got the upper hand later due to his newly vamped teleport otherwise this Guile would own him. Very good match.
