  • what do you need to get started in this i have a receiver and a rig blaster m8 interface

  • @TheVibroplex Hi There, you will need decoding software such as WXtoimage or like myself I use Radiocom 5.2.

Then you just need to download satscape and start listening out for the NOAA WX Sats on 137 MHZ

  • hi again mate,,any chance you could tell me what the software is?as im having big problems with mine,,just get loads of wavy and zig zagged lines, cheers wayne.

  • Hi Wayne, its Radio com 5 software. There is more info at my site and a link on the right hand side. via my channel page.

Good luck (try turning the volume right down for better pics

  • cheers for that mate,,ill give it another go.

  • you need an antenna and a receiver on 137-138 mhz fm. Satellite tracking and decoding software on your PC, some cables into your soundcard. Lots of time but it works well.

See more info at my site via my channel page.

    Good luck and 73!

  • can you zoom? and see my house from there?

  • Not Quite, but some passes provide good signals and detailed images good enough to zoom in and see land marks.

I use it to monitor the weather by watching the movement of weather fronts etc.

  • how do i get those passes buddy?

  • Hi Simon,

  • I've noticed you use Satscape and Radiocom.. In my PC Satscape become unstable so I use Orbitron, and instead of radiocom, i use WXtoImg. They are freeware and easy to use. ;)

    73's

  • I had the same problem with Satscape but then I downloaded the kepler fix. As far as Radio Com 5.2 I find it good to use with great weather fax images. However I use other software for SSTV and Digi modes like psk31 which are also freeware. Ill take a look at WXtolmg thanks for letting me know about it. 73 and I wonder how you got on with your Homebrew antenna?
