It's not correct to say that that's what happens if you have LASIK because I've had it (with the latest wavefront technology) and I didn't end up with stitches. However, well before treatment, the risk of ending up with stitches was made very clear to me and I had to sign a consent form. I'm not sure how it works in the US but here in the UK a consent form REALLY explains all the potential collocations - even those that "never" happen.
I had LASIK at the largest teaching hospital in the state. So I thought it would be safe. But now I can't drive at night. Plus I'm still in glasses. I've had several procedures trying to repair the damage that the original LASIK caused but I still can't drive at night.
