Wish there was a guy as good as David Cook this year (and if anyone suggests Adam is - you need your hearing checked). After David did such a mind-blowing performance of this song, I can't imagine what Danny was thinking do it after David remastered and perfected it.

When I saw his first audition I thought he was good. However, constantly bringing up the dead wife for sympathy votes, the smug grin, the god bothering and the general dullness of his later performances bored me to tears. I'm sure he does appeal to a lot of people who enjoy MOR easy listening, and thats fair enough. Personally I find him nauseating.

It's unbelievable to me that Danny Gokey made it to the Top 3. This guy is not an original, creative singer. He's a charismatic young church guy who happens to have an ok voice. IMO, that does not make an American Idol. When you think of all the amazing, untapped young talent out there, it's really a shame that we're left with Danny who gets all this (undue) national attention. I just hope America wakes up in time to prevent a complete joke of a season.

man he ruins every song the contestants sang last season. Stand by me I personally didn't like it (Archie sang it amazingly last year). Dream On was horrible (Michael Johns' was BRILLIANT). And now Billie Jean.. one of David Cook's best performances.

It's unbelievable to me that Danny Gokey made it to the Top 3. This guy is not an original, creative singer. He's a charismatic young church guy who happens to have an ok voice. IMO, that does not make an American Idol. When you think of all the amazing, untapped young talent out there, it's really a shame that we're left with Danny who gets all this (undue) national attention. I just hope America wakes up in time to prevent a complete joke of a season.
