If Yagami Light could have changed the world on his own, he would have. Unfortunately he had to usre other people on the scale of his task. Those other people failed him, especially Mikami (the idiot). Light defeated L, and would have outsmarted Near too, if it weren't for the idiot.

But what would the people make of Light being victorious? Justice or not? Good or evil? I think he would have gone overboard and used his given power to control the world, rather than help it.

this music, in a way sums up light's journey from the start of the anime to the end

if the acoustic guitar represents light, the student and the electric guitar, kira, the killer. at the begining the music is soft, about a minute in it starts to pick up, becoming more unsettling. in the first 10 episodes you could still sense some emotion in light, then he starts to become more and more ruthless. thats what i always thought.

man this video reminded me the bright side of light...at first episode he was such a nice guy he would even smile happily and not evilly as in the rest episodes once he found the Note..even his face was sooo different....but still i love him!best character ever!

i think most of all people would like it much more if light wins. me too. But could you imagine an ending where kira wins? i think the way they finish death note was brilliant. I felt emotions I never felt before and thought about an alternate ending. Maybe it was not the ending we want, but it was the most epic ending i ever seen
