  • the best part was from 0:00 to 2:12

  • I'm the cymbal line section leader at my high school and I always hated (not all the way) when we watched DCI stuff in class because there are no cymbals...this made my day!!

  • saw them in allentown the other day. I love SCV especially since i'm the captain of my school's cymbal line. it just reminds me that being the cymbal captain isn't lame, ESPECIALLY if you come up with sicka** visuals.

  • 1:33

    Chopping the baby move :D

  • 4 people use sabian cymbals

  • three people dislike this cus BD cant have a great cymbal line like SCV. only one word. WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @drumpeteer12 No, BD doesnt need a cymbal line.

  • they all have butts of steel...

  • @DrmrGuy1979 That explains it thanks!

  • Very good but UGLY uniforms!

  • yeah..marching cymbals is easy?? hmm ....let me think, how about u march with meduim heavy 20' cymbals for the whole summer all day everyday and then u can tell me how "easy" it is. GO CYMBALS!!!

  • 0:22 dayum! dude's about to kill somebody. melting bodies with lazer beams from his eyes!

  • @smokeysmithes

Hey i was there! Did yoy get to see NCA cymbal line? They're so good!

  • nithin is a bad ass!!!!

  • wow nice butt..lol

  • Any cymbal line deserves the right to take a shit over the person that says, " Cymbals are stupid, its just banging two plates together"

Thumbs up if you saw/played at the WGI Competition at Riverside, Pulse and RCC! Congrats Pulse! That cymbal visual jizzed my pants!

  • Oh man, dem SCV boys can sliiiiiiing!!

  • Itried a pair of cymbals a from our cymbal line, and never wanted to touch them again. This and viper is dope :) (juss keep cymbals away from me)

  • 3 people have no idea how hard it is to play cymbals.

  • @193614 Ikr? They're the visual aspect. and adds musical color to the drumline. they're WAYY important.

  • No fucking around here, those were the most intense face i've ever seen, I'm pretty sure that if i had looked one of them in the eyes my head would explode

  • I love how some people are watching just the cymbals instead of the whole line :-D

  • that was sick

  • every one of them looks like they could kill you if you looked at them wrong

  • Prime example why cymbals are amazing. :D I love being a cymbal player in the Drumline!

  • the guys closest to the camera is really scary.

  • @sims2sims2345 lol you have no idea

  • the funny thing is that people who dont march, dont actually know how heavy those are. and what it takes to do the stuff we do.

  • @MrAc2181 My sophomore year someone in my history class was talking about how marching band was for people who didn't do sports. A year later I was in a band he drummed for and I had to teach him the differences between 3/4 and 4/4 time. Oh the irony.

  • My computer just exploded from the sheer brilliance

  • so scary looking though

  • dude closest 2 the camera is SOOOO BEASTY!!!!!!!! i was almost 2 close 2 him while shooting video @ the walnut, ca. show this same year (it gets way crowded obviously :b) and it got scary at times when id feel his cym woosh right by me :b

  • OMG.....LOOK AT THEIR BUTTS :)

  • scv drumline is one of the most aggressive drumlines out there. If all members of that drumline look and act like the guy closet to the camera, I would fucking shit my pants in fear because scv just took being aggressive to a whole new level.

  • @DanReed94

like your comment, but he isnt black haha

  • Omg...2nd one from the right is ssooooooo hotttttttttt

  • Is there any coincidence as to why they're all bald?

  • @EffectiveButSimple its uniform; there cymbals are shiny and so are their heads x]

  • @EffectiveButSimple SCV cymbal line tradition, i think

  • at the end of my feild show we rock the baby cut the baby and toss the baby. im tryin to find a good spot to cock the gun and shoot the damn baby

  • look at their butts!!! :)

  • such perfect timing,tenors,cymbals,and all

  • i love how everyone cheers at the baby killer hahaha

  • Q: Why do SCV's cymbals always looked pissed off that world?

A: Because no one gives them the respect they deserve.

  • @aintmybabyfour

    true story

  • they have a great presence. are their feet marking time or is that just a visual element?

  • @munerere its a mix of both, visual and marking time,we do it at Oak Hills High School in hesparia

  • seeing this live is scary. but probably some of the nicest guys i've met.

  • SCV always has the best cymbal line. They are precise with every movement.

  • Gives me alot of inspiration =)

  • Best cymbal line in DCI but the faces they make are so funny

  • Amo Muito esse VIDEO esse Cara tem q vim ao Brasil !

  • SCV Cymbal line is unbeatable. Its like their trademark.

  • i remember my year in the cymbal line. was some hard stuff.

  • @heinzie5 not scv cymbal line that is xD

  • Playing Cymbals is way more harder than phsysical warmup

  • SCV cymbals are beyond amazing......

  • dude! kill the baby visual!

  • dude those guys are ripped that takes a lot of muscle

  • Wow, I just saw the "kill the baby move" this vid is pretty scary and amazing at the same time.

  • that was so intense. a lot of people in my marching band thinks its whack to play the cymbal. thats why we only have two. i wish we had more so we would be able to do something like that. great job.

  • lol i see this video in a different light now

  • Kill the baby at 1:30!

  • oh i get it now.. I didn't know what guardgirlerin was talking about .. but now I do.. I saw them craddle an imaginary baby, then they cut it's neck twice. Then they threw it onto the floor and cocked their shotgun back and shot the baby in the face and licked up all the blood in an evil way. O_O

  • i love "kill the baby" just thrown in there!

  • @BlindAsian Second in from the left?

  • god, their vibe is so scary.

    it's so awesome.

  • SCV cymbal line = gods

  • Got chills watching this (: if you look at their biceps, you will see that usually, cymbal have to have the greatest amount of arm strength in any line. I miss my section. It was alot of hard work and many hour satnding with our cymbals suspended but it paid off when we made finals at WGI regionals in Indianapolis, Indiana lol SCV.. two words.. Beast mode :D

  • @DrmrGuy1979 Ahh. I know, thanks. Sometimes people accept my knowledge and sometimes they're just to stubborn to listen. xD

  • ass grabbing pants.

  • kill the baby lol

  • Comment removed

  • its called being motivated to look and be the best.

  • why they all bald?

  • Demm Niggasss IS NASTY!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • SCV Cymbal Line is more intense than the war in Iraq. It takes YEARS and years of training just to play it Correctly. Let alone play it Good. These guys are the best of the best in the Bay Area.

  • SCV's and PC's platelines are the ones to watch next year.

  • no, just scvs

  • umm...not really. PC's will be one to watch for sure, you'll be surprised just be a little open. Unless you play cymbals then, then i guess I can't really talk to you about it.

  • look at those tight asses.

  • do you know where i can find good gloves for cymbals? we need some some

  • Is there some kind of rule about the cymbal line having shaved heads or are they just that badass? ;)

  • SCV Cymbals will and will always be BAD ASS.

  • Guy closest to the camera = Intense

  • beautiful technique is flawless omg.

  • Dude. It's not about playing the cymbals as much as it is being brothers and having fun being good. It's about tradition and keeping certain elements of excellence alive in what has come to be Vanguard's cymbal line. You do it because you love doing it, not whether it's necessary or not.

  • congrats, but im pretty sure the all of the tallent in your entire cymbal line added together is equal to about 1/4 of 1 of these guys. its not about how many notes you have. its how well you play them

  • Well, I'm not taking away from they're talent on cymbals, but honestly, it's not exactly as dificult to be good at them like it is to be at tenors, snare, bass, or a keyboard. And I forget if I already posted this, but I think my HS cymbal line is pretty good, check 'em out: watch?v=sutbfbGStcg

  • to play like these 4 guys takes an insane amount of skill.

  • Nothing...absolutely no instrument that is being marched on a field is necessary. A group can put battery instruments in the front if they wanted, it doesn't have to be on the field. It's not necessary but it just is there for effect.

It's almost like how people say marijuana is bad for the body, and they drink hard liquor.

  • Yes, because cymbals sound EXACTLY like bass drums. *sarcasm*

  • Okay that wasn't even what I was getting at but at the same time you've made it even worse. At least bass drums all sound different, unlike the cymbal line. I mean, there's probably a reason why most corps' percussion ensembles don't have cymbal lines anymore.

  • All I have to say is that you don't really know what you're talking about. Plenty still use cymbals. They add a different sound element to the ensemble and have some crazy, awesome visuals. You clearly don't know what it takes to play cymbals.

  • Different sound element? How much so since the pit already uses them?

  • Lots of front ensembles have racks with many of suspended cymbals, which sound different than marching crash cymbals. Also, if there are crash cymbals in the battery, it lets the pit mostly focus on their hardcore mallet playing.

  • KILL IT!!!

  • Anyone who disses any DCI or marching instrument has no idea what it takes to march.

  • @JTSHHS i am a cymbal man myself

  • i love the intense look on their faces. EPIC

  • this is the best camera angle EVER.

  • its scv dumbass

  • SVC has a amazing cymbal line always.

I love the baby killer visual.

  • They are killin it! Intense!!

  • lol the guy on the right looks like carlos from The Benchwarmers

  • abortion visual xD

  • lol from 0:22 to 0:24 the dudes face is like fuck you! but this is damn good.

  • tht guy has a wedgie

  • sick

  • ..if it wasnt illegal I'd totally tap that lol..

  • yeah you would you cheating whore....lets see what me and Jeff think about that....I love you Jk....that is freaking awesome

  • Thats Bad A

  • WOOOT Kill the baby!

  • was it just me or did they kill a baby at 1:35?

  • nope they did haha

  • haha at 0:48 the second guy in tries to scratch his nose...bad form when at attention...

  • i think if u were in their cymbal line and playing at this magnitude, i wouldnt give a crap what he did.

  • daaaaaamn they are quick!

  • SICKKKK

  • nice....they look mean like they ready to kill somethin

  • KILL IT....YEAHHH!!! lol...1:35

  • They didnt forget to shoot it either! theyre fukn grest!

  • that guy on the right looks like hes going to cut my head off with that cymbal

  • Do any of those flip tricks involve the cymbal ever leaving the grip?

  • the placement and amount of pressure applied varies but the hands never come even partially unstrapped.

  • hands down the best cymbal line

  • not to mention the most BADASS cymbal line too, no one can touch these beasts right there.

  • YEEE NITHIN N NICK

  • SCV cymbals get work done, straight up

I think they are the most popular lot to watch because of the cymbal line.

  • that and they have the sweetest warm-ups......There isn't a line in DCI OR DCA that has a warm - up better than Double Beat or Their Jammin Exercise....

  • FIERCE.

  • scv cymbal line is friggin hardcore

  • I'm learning to play cymbals for a PIW-class indoor near chicago...our tech just says "watch scv on youtube"...now I know why! I'll definitely be learning from them.

  • yup, to be awesome at something, u gotta learn from the best

  • yeah i agree. i march cymbals and i watch them to learn some things. amazing cymbal line!! they make people think cymbals isnt just crashing.

  • cymbals rule all day

  • that guy's face says "i want to eat your most prized possesions in front of you."

you could babies in there if you want since everyone's saying they want to eat babies.

  • oh my god, the dude on the end, closest to the camera looks like hes about to eat 100 babies...its soo intense.. I LOVE IT!!

  • balls to the wall, baby!

  • very clean.. i can learn a lot from them and a few other cymbal lines from dci..!! check out my channel

  • holy hell

they all look like they just ate like 10 babies

    intense

  • they must be ripped after finals...

  • thescream22 i play cymbals the 20in. to be exact they only hurt untill you break the strap in i did think the change from 18 in to 20 was a big deal but omg they are waty heavier

  • yeah my hs uses 19's and, we dont use gloves though, we have to clean an buff the finishes every night... we do need to start though, lolz.

  • Dude Classic Orchestral cymbals are so clean and amazing. So much better than the stadiums also a bit heavier like he was saying in the other video. Damn SCV, so amazing!

  • the cymbals are so hard to play.

im playing them right now and they are harder than a motherfcker.

and you definately do need some loves so your hands wont hurt.

  • i agree!!!

  • I dont think i have ever seen a cymbal line as intense as SCV or Crossmen..

  • Nobody is as intense as SCV. I saw the SCV cymbals live, I marched Crossmen, and I must say that they are way more intense.

Our cymbal line is just as good, though. Their visuals this year were crazy. Whenever I marched near them I thought I'd get hit with cool ass cymbal visuals.

  • I love cymbal lines, and im a bass player lol.. I didnt get a chance to check out SCV in the lot when i was in san antonio this year

  • every one thinks cymbols are easy id admit tilo i started playing them i did so too its kinda funny how snare and tenors gets all credit when we do the most work i play the 18inch i bud playes the 20 but yea just being called to "Set" is alot of work

  • Wow so many fellow cymbal players. Love ya all. SCV <3 They're so ridic its awesome.

  • SCV Has the best cymbal lines ever but....

1:49-1:50 the second cymbal player looks like he's humping his cymbals like Quagmire

  • hahahaha thats awesome

  • Absolute love to the Cymbal line - the bling of the drum line.

  • I'm tired of people saying cymbals are really easy because all you have to do is "bang them together." But no one who watches this will think that!

I'm loving the visuals. Very inspirational. =]

  • thank you!!!! i can't tell you how many people say "all you do is bang them together"...i bet none of them even know how to hold the cymbals correctly!!!

  • EXACTLY! i switched from trumpet to cymbals this year and i think it's awesome, but all my friends think of the little wind up monkey toy that just hits the cymbals together... i'd love to shut them up by making them watch this video

  • Haha, exactly. They think cymbals are just a matter of hitting them together. Haha.

  • oh yeah! they mustve forgot about waving them in the air.

  • yeah cymbals never really get that much credit like in normal bands. it sucks haha everybody thinks its so easy but when they try haha i just laugh at them. cymbals freaking wreck!

  • i just started cymbals in my marching band, they r way harder than expected, u gys deserve ur rep

  • SCV's cymbal line is soo baddass!!!

  • costume? they're bibbers, that is part of the uniform the entire corps has to wear... and how does anything in this video make them gay? you see them with another guy? didn't thank so.. have a nice day...

  • The best cymbal line i've ever seen
