  • I have one of these. It is ridiculously effective. I've dressed multiple elk and mule deer with mine. I liked it so well I bought the Ka-Bar too.

  • I'm guessing that most of the people commenting (including myself) worked for Cutco at one point or another. Gotta love that DD edge.

  • ITS NOT SERRATED!!!! GET IT RIGHT FUCKER AHAHAHAHA

  • price now is 158.

call 541-505-0745 if u would like to send an order.

    JoAnna

  • or at joanna.m.gonzales@gmail.com

  • XD thanks amigo mind if i link future customers to this if they are intrested?

  • a hunting knife with sawtooth!? do you use it as a steak knife? A good hunting knife should be suitable to use in wile environment which means it has to be easy to sharpening. As long as you don't use your knife to cut though something on a porcelain, you don't need that. It will be hard to sharpen after then knife went dull.

  • @jj987987987 it wont go dull =3 trust me if it ever would (after yer grandkids get done using it after you AND yer kids) ye would only have to send it to the factory to get it sharpened and only payment is shipping

  • forever guarantee.. theres no 50% off retail for replacement.. replacement is free bro haha

  • @jtaylo74 actually, the Forever Guarantee does have the Misuse and Abuse clause. If you every happen to destroy your Cutco through misuse or abuse, they will replace it for half the current retail value. If it doesn't perform normally, then, yes, you can replace it free. If you break it though, it's half the current retail value.

    I sell Cutco...

  • @shardmindpsion/ if you sell Cutco, then you must know what a CSP is..right? I'm a Cutco Sales Professional, born into a hunting family myself. I have a few hundred customers that use and abuse their Cutco knives all the time in their garages and gardens, and have broken. I have two 45+ year customers of cutco who had their knives burned in a house fire, many who found cutco in flea markets broken so they bought them, and chefs (one in my family) who use the back end of the cleavers to hammer

  • through frozen meat and each chef have broken prolly 3 or 4 of their knives... all of the above our a few of my loyal customers.. and not one of them has paid in any form for having their knives replaced, repaired, or resharpened. Cutco's customer service standards are unfortunately misrepresented by a lot of beginning sales reps. Even below $40,000 in career sales.

  • @jtaylo74 I'm sorry, I do understand all that, but what I present is what I was told to present by my DVM, who has several million in career sales and has actually brought our division out of the relative obscurity it has been in to rival even Chicago in sales every year...I'll trust him...

  • I am a sales rep for Cutco Knives/Cutlery, if you're interested in buying any of them contact me via email or on youtube if you live anywhere I can do the phone Demo and you can see the outstanding Quality of these knives for yourself. James.

  • We also can sharpen them in your own home now! hunting season is about to start hear in KS and MO. Go to Cutco.com and find out how to get into contact with your local CUTCO office.

    -happy hunting

  • the handles not plastic either

  • @Dcsk8er01 yup not plastic its thermo resin

  • 7 people use Henckels

  • do you have the cutco/ka-bar explorer? i want to see a review of it

  • @halorulesyourface It's AMAZING!!!! I've been a Cutco rep for about 8 years now, and I was the first person in Arizona to have one and I was stoked! My son was born May 1st, and I traded Cutco with our doula (birthing coach) for her services. Her husband is an outdoor survavalist and regularly goes out in the wilderness with just a knife and lives off the land. He got the Ka-Bar in the trade and we keep hearing about how great it is and how durable, blah blah blah.

  • @vonnyp2 that's pretty awesome. i got mine in a draw at our office; all the guys there were jealous :)

too bad business isnt that booming for me anymore

  • @halorulesyourface Making a KA-BAR out of 440A instead of 1095 Cro Van, is like making a house out of paper mache, instead of Brick.

  • @RebelWrestler45 the CUTCO KA-BAR only has CUTCO's DD edge near the handle im pretty sure the metal is the same (cant be sure tho but it still has the forever guaruntees)

  • @dblader333 No, the metal is not the same, nothing with the Cutco name on it has ever had half decent steel. The Cutco Explorer is cheapo 440A stainless, not 1095 Cro Van.

  • hopefully i sell one of these tonight :p i got 2 appointments to go do

  • Just had a cutco demo in my home 10 minutes ago. Damn these are nice knives. The scissors *drool* :P it cut a penny. I so abuse scissors crafting but these may survive :D.

Now I see a hunting knife. OK that's hot!

  • @shampoovta cutting the penny is so fun! especially when customers say "hey, that's a federal offense!" and i just tell them that it's not; it's only a federal offense if it's a nickel or higher. xD so i'm good with cutting up some copper pennies (ideally made after 1985, as they're softer ;P ).

  • CUTCO is the BEst!!!!

  • And its thermorezin handle, NOT plastic. :)

  • Retail price is 148$ + shipping and taxes. Just saying.

  • @the1holysaint and you never have to buy another one...just saying

  • jajajaja whats up with the animal next to the knife ??????

  • its used in the movie scream

  • My client put all of his knives including this one in barbecue grill for 2 hours nothing melted no charring either.

  • the knives are made of steel the type of steel you find in surgical tools

  • i just quit cutco after three days of working for them two days ago... cutco is a rip off... they charge you $1036.00 for a homemaker plus 8 set... WHAT 1000 dollars for some knives... how about i pay my mortgage instead .. or buy some stock in g.m... They dont give you leads they want you to sell to all of your friends and family.. CUTCO GETS A 2 OUT OF 5 STAR RATING... THE KNIVES ARE EXTRAVAGENT BUT THE PRICE IS WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY WAY TO EXPENSIVE...

  • bro, if you did the henckels comparison you would know thats just how much extravagent knives cost. Dam NOOB

  • @BronerMediaGroup It's high-end cutlery, Henkles, William Sonoma, just to name a couple (sorry if I butchered their names) are more expensive than Cutco and their warranties couldn't hold a stick to Cutco's. People spend 1000's on fine china, and plenty of stuff that only get used at most 1-2 times a year. Why not spend that on something you can use every day, and then pass on your kids to use every day after you're gone, and so froth?

  • If interested in this knife send me a message!

I am a Rep for Cutco, so I can get you any knife you like (filet Knife)

    Thanks!

  • Btw i just started selling cutco, The handle on the hunting knife is not plastic, it is thermo resin. Thermo-resin is the same material they use for football helmets and bowling balls, Plastic is garbage, this knife is way too good for plastic. Thanks for doing this review

  • Cutco sucks, buy something of better quality.

  • It's not a serrated edge!

  • @Clarkelan Yeah, he made me cringe a bit when he said that. But, it's a honest mistake. A lot of the people I do demos for still say serrated even after I tell them the blade cut. At least he said DD- serrated lol. Still a great review of the hunting knife, I'm getting ready to buy my own and compare it to my Buck 1911 Special, and then buy one of the Kabar knives we are now able to sell.

  • @Clarkelan its the exclusive double d edge. the recessed edges are protected by the points

  • @Clarkelan Here's some common definitions of serrations...... Having or forming a row of small sharp projections resembling the teeth of a saw

  • Excellent review, you should get paid by cutco for it.

  • i sell cutco, and i am an expert on cutco.

he's spot on about our guarantee, no matter who you give it to, it still has the guarantee.

but its not called the serrated double d.

its not serrated, its better, its 3 straight edges protected by points.

the points arent sharp because the points arent used to cut.

the handles are NOT plastic, they are THERMO RESIN similar to what they use on bowling balls.

i just used our paring knife, to cut through an Avocado.. (pit also)

    best knives out there,

  • @creamofweat7773 An expert on Cutco, an ignoramus on cutlery. The "double d" edge is nothing more than a serration, as is is a recessed cutting edge. Thermo resin is cheap injection molded plastic. Cutco uses cheap low quality steel, handle materials, and finishing processes; KIA quality with a Mercedes price markup.

  • @RebelWrestler45 wow have you even seen it? i know people who work with thermo resin, its not cheap plastic. he drops thousands of pounds of rocks on this stuff.

high carbon surgical stainless steel isnt cheap metal, and the double d edge is NOT serrated as i have stated.

three STRAIGHT edged PROTECTED by points. NOT SERRATED. why dont you figure it out BEFORE you make an ass out of yourself.

  • @creamofweat7773 Just because something is tough, does not mean it isn't cheap. Thermo resin is a cheap injection molded polymer. "high carbon surgical stainless steel" is an ambiguous term used to avoid the actual classification of the steel; at best it is meaningless, but it usually refers to cheapo steel with good rust resistance and terrible edge retention; like Cutco's 440A, its junk. Do you think Cutco is the only company that uses serrations with a recessed straight cutting edge?

  • @RebelWrestler45 again, NOT serrated.

  • @creamofweat7773 A serration is defined as a notched or recessed cutting surface on an edge. Just because your vector marketing manager said that it isn't a serration, doesn't mean that it is so. I bet your manager told you that Cutco uses premium high carbon stainless steel; neglecting to mention that 440A is the cheapest, and has the lowest carbon content of any 440 series stainless. Take it from a bladehead, and former sales rep; Cutco is overpriced mediocrity; a KIA with a BMW price markup

  • @RebelWrestler45 Sounds like a bitter rep. Cutco - 62 years and running....must be because it's so "cheap" huh? Ive had my set for over 10 years, it still has its edge, and the steel hasn't rusted, or anything for that matter.

  • @RebelWrestler45 Sounds like a bitter rep. Cutco - 62 years and running....must be because it's so "cheap" huh? Ive had my set for over 10 years, it still has its edge, and the steel hasn't rusted, or anything for that matter

  • @gmont14 Not at all bitter, I made a decent amount of money working for Cutco; there are plenty of companies that market low quality products, that have been in business for several decades; but not that many with Cutco's ridiculous price markup. Of course your 440A hasn't rusted, it has more chromium content than any other steel at comparable HRC; it also has god awful edge retention. If your standard is a blunted butter knife, then yeah, your Cutco still has an 'edge'.

  • im mad at wat vector did to me :/ i loved the company an they fucked me

  • I have one of the black clip point dd's that I got from my ex-g friend. Score!

  • hello i like the knife but can i get one with out the teeth

  • @MrLorenzotrigueros Yes, they come in straight and Double D edges in both the classic and pearl handles.

  • i am actually a sales rep for cutco since may of 2008 so if you anything please let me know and ill give you the best deal. :)

  • Good review. Cutco is an awsome buy for sure. I am a rep in washington so if anyones interested I can come show you what we got, just leave me a message

  • i am a meat cutter and yesterday i cut 600lbs of beef with my cutcos. best knives i've ever used.

  • Anyone looking for any Cutco product let me know

  • Thanks dude.

  • Cutco is amazing!!! Anyone interested in buying a cutco knife let me know! Prices are MUCH less expensive now!

(SOME KNIVES SOLD ON EBAY ARE KNOCKOFFS!)

  • you only have to pay 50% if it is obviously abused, otherwise they fix it or replace it for free

  • these knives are sharp as shit, i accidently cut my middle finger with my paring knife and i ended up getting 4 stitches. very high quality knives

  • @LOCO91291 LOL

  • Grade 440A High Carbon Stainless Steel.

The handles are A Thermo Resin Material simmilar to the material in Pro-Football Helmates and Bowling Balls.

I sell CutCo, I'm pretty knowledgable of my product.

Hit Me Up if you're interested. =]

  • @wolpack1116 it depends on the model, spyderco is grinding some of their zdp-189 knives at a 13 degree angle (ex. my carbon fiber caly 3). Spyderco usually grinds most of their stuff at 15 degrees, but has gone to 20 for some of their softer steels.

  • @wolpack1116 No doubt, even though I'm a Spyderco guy (I just love their blade shapes and edge geometry) I have yet to find an edc blade with better ergonomics than BM's grippy; and I love all of their Osborne folders too. I am in the process of getting a neck sheath for my BM 210 Activator (Limited 500 production, woven g10- looks like green carbon fiber), as I don't like the bulky friction belt sheath it came with; but you can't go wrong with any knife in BM's blue class.

  • @wolpack1116 No doubt, I'm a huge BRKT fan, and while I think the Cold Steel blades can be a bit overpriced, they are built like tanks. Lately I've fallen in love with my Benchmade activator 201 in D2, Mike Snody's design might just be the perfect hunter; drop point, heavy belly for skinning, flat grind, reinforced tip, thick spine, slight recurve near the heel. I used to only like Benchmade for their folders (though I'm a hardcore Spyderco fan), but they make a damn good fixed blade too.

  • @wolpack1116 You're exactly right; I have several knives in 440A, and they're great for light-medium use; but for the $100 + price point this knife is nowhere close to worth it. I used to sell Cutco, and used this knife on a 3 1/2 year old buck, big mistake; chipped the tip cutting through the sternum- which was hard enough to do, considering how thin the blade is. 440A steel, stick tang, cheap handles (slippery when wet), thin blade, poor finish, weak tip; everything you don't want in a hunter.

  • ummm..... it's thermo-resin; not plastic.

  • i sell that knife for about 150.

  • By the way they're made with surgical stainless steel, It's the worlds stronggest and most reliable knives out in America!! If you guys got any questions on any kind of knife send me a message and I can actually sell you any product or set you want. I'm an advanced sales representative so I'll help you guys out!

  • @PVPFilmz you forgot to tell this man that the handle's not plastic. and it's high-carbon surgical stainless.

  • @FadoDeo4444 i.e. crap 440A steel, and cheap injection molded handles. If I'm gonna cough up 100 plus bucks for a hunting knife, it better have VG-10 steel at a minimum (hell I can get a buck in S30V for the price of one of these Cutco ripoffs), and if the handle is a polymer, it better be micarta or g10; no thermo resin, polypropylene, frn or other cheap polymers.

  • @RebelWrestler45 okay... 440A is not crap steel and for American knives it is simply higher than average, besides it does retain a good edge and won't corrode. vg-10 is primarily japanese and you might have to pay quite a bit more especially if you want micarta; and what guarantees you that the edge won't dull? nothing because every edge dulls even vg-10/ but Cutco puts a guarantee on all their steels and sharpen for free as many times as is desired (about once every 6 years). buck does not.

  • @FadoDeo4444 440A is the bottom of the barrel, especially for American steel; it is a grade up from 420J, comparable to 420HC; 440B, C, 154CM, S30V are all

American steels which are far superior to 440A. 440A has horrible edge retention, and any martensitic steel will corrode. When you calculate tax and shipping, Cutco is around the same price as Shun's classic line, in VG10; there are several companies who sell kitchen knives in 440A, that don't exceed 30 bucks for a standard Chef knife

  • @FadoDeo4444 First of all, Cutco straight edge knives will go dull in a week or two, their DD edged knives a month or so; not even ZDP-189 or Cowry X will make it a year without becoming dull. If it can't pop hairs, it isn't sharp. In addition, Cutco will sharpen your knives for free (as will many other knife manufacturers), you just have to pay shipping both ways, which is like 5-8 bucks one way now; plus companies like spyderco and benchmade will put a way sharper edge on their knives.

  • @RebelWrestler45 and they even cover their resin; so you can have it replaced even if damage occurs to it (which I doubt); no other brand covers their product so much. so you can pay for another knife but you will be held responsible for any maintenance.

  • @FadoDeo4444 Once again Cutco is not exclusive with their guarantees, most good companies, including Buck, will replace a broken blade, handle scales etc. from use and abuse. The problem with Cutco's thermo resin handles is not their durability, but their lack of texturing; if you get them wet, bloody, or use them with gloves on, they are prone to slipping out of the hand.

  • @RebelWrestler45 even wood is a polymer....

  • @PVPFilmz Go look up Ka-Bar. They'd easily take "most reliable knife" in America title.

  • @WirlWind494 Not a chance; I have had the stacked leather handles on KA-BAR's degenerate after exposed to the elements, and KA-BAR's 1095 isn't quite as tough as other companies', like ESEE for instance. Also, the black finish that KA-BAR puts on their blades is crap compared to the competition. Busse easily takes the "most reliable knife in America" title.

  • @WirlWind494 KA-BAR is actually made in the same factory as cutco... They're the same company technically...

  • @gromann they are the same company cutco is actually selling it to people now not just the military

  • If you guys have any questions and want even more special deals on Cutco cutlery items, send me a email at ericdanielphillips@yahoo.com I can send it out to you guys in 2 - 3 days so don't be shy to ask! CUTCO!!!

You can also just talk to me through youtube.

  • I know you mentioned you have been corrected but in more specifics;

    1) the double D is not serated XD

    2) the handle is a thermo-resin handle :]

  • actually iwitht he hunting knife if it breaks while hunting if can be replaced for free.

  • not made of plastic. its thermo resin that wont melt til exposed to 350 degrees

  • This is fantastic! I've been selling Cutco for two years, and I love hearing from customers! If you ever need anything, shoot me a message and I can help! By the way, thank you for your service, sir.

  • Poorly designed hunting knife; the blade is too thin, the tip is too delicate (chipped it while going through a doe's sternum), the modified serrations of the DD edge make skinning difficult, the thermo resin handles have no traction when bloody (esp. if you are gloved), and the 440A steel dulls quickly. This is what happens when a company tries to produce a product for a niche which they know absolutely nothing about. Coupled with the outrageous price, this is a no buy for me.

  • I just started selling CUTCO and when my mom bought her first set she bought me one of these =D

  • Score for you! I love this knife...

  • Not serrated....DD edge

  • Oh wow I have this knife.

Back when my father used to sell cutco he had to get one as a demo (and Like all of their kitchen knives I love them) so Ive got like a 20 year old one.

  • @littlemog92

    Still under warranty!

  • @Iraqveteran8888 not warranty, guarantee.

    no time limit. =)

good vid btw i like hearing how people like our product

i sell it, and love it.

i use my kit for the demo's and at home as well.

amazing investment, and its the last set of knives you will EVER by.

    im sure you'd agree =)

  • @creamofweat7773 No such thing as a guarantee. For all you know, they could go out of business tomorrow :P

  • @WirlWind494 Truuuue but.. theyve been around for more than a couple decades, it's safe to bet they'll be around for more than a couple more :p

  • give it in!

and they'll sharpen and polish it for you

mabye even replace it with a new one :)

  • high carbon surgical grade stainless steel. high impact thermo-resin handles...sorry force of habit. i work for cutco lol

  • No thats cool. Like I said, I usually do firearms so yeah, any input is great.

Cutco makes a really good product and the prices are pretty fair provided you buy a lot. You get raped on single items though.

  • "surgical"..multiple grades of stainless are used for surgical purposes. The term surgical stainless steel is meaningless, because there is more than one stainless steel used for surgical instruments. Other elements added to steel to improve hardness, toughness and wear resistance are cobalt, manganese, molybdenum, nickel and vanadium.

  • I have used the Cutco Drop Point Hunting knife for almost twenty years. Orange cushion grip and no blade seration. You are absolutely correct it is a fantastic buy. I use it strictly for skinning, butchering and cutting food. For heavy-hard knife use I carry my old Air Force Survival Knife. Not too big and stout as nails.

    Good videos.

There is a book missing on your list; Unintended Consequences by John Ross.

Put your faith in God and keep your powder dry.

  • Thanks for sharing. The DP hunting knife is really cool I think. I've never handled one, but I have heard really good things about them.

I have Unintended Consequences on order. Thanks.

  • @Iraqveteran8888 full tang?

  • @krazy4knives yes all cutcos are full tang

  • what's the golf ball trick for skinning deer?

sawzall is great for going through bone.... it's what we used on my neighbours moose

  • Tie a rope to your trailer hitch, then put a rock or golf ball in side the hide and tie the rope around it on the outside of the hide.

Take off slowly in your truck and the skin will come off in one big peice in like a split second.

  • that's awesome!

sadly i didn't get a deer this year... shame too because i was using a nice M44 carbine

  • Hey, I don't watch tv, and this is like seeing what pals all over the country are up to, so show what ever you like IV. that edge is good for joint material. I still use a sawzall for bone, since it is hard on the gear. More than you wanted to know? My apologies if so.

  • Thanks for the kind words. I try not to make any vidoes that aren't at least marginally interesting or pertinent...lol..

I never thought of using a SAWZALL!!!! Thats a hell of an idea!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Will have to put that one to use!

(Do you use the old golf ball trick to skin deer?)

  • No, with me pulling(deer hung) and one of my pals working a blade if necessary, that task is quick.

All kidding aside, the sawzall has the carcass ready for inside the home processing in no time at all. Of course, it works best if the weather is cold, stiffening the tissue. Water rinse removes "bone dust."

  • Thanks for sharing...Sounds like you've done it quite a bit.

  • No...American, originally out of New York, but not sure if they still are or not.

  • A little change of pace . . . excellent! I enjoyed the knife review.

  • Thanks for the support doc...

  • Looks very nice and quite serious.

  • I love cutco I used to sell them door to door. Yeah their expensive, but the quality of the materials and fit and finish are great.

  • I agree...Great product and priced right provided you buy a lot.

  • Hit as many topics as you can. It just means more great videos for us to watch

  • lol....yeah....I have a lot of stuff to cover, so they will get random.

  • Cool knife! I'm not really an outdoorsman so I don't really have use for such a knife. But pretty cool!

  • handles are polypropolene. . .same material as some bowling balls and football helmets. . . i used to sell the knives and i liked them soo much that i actually bought the whole kitchen set.. . .i never had much experience with the hunting knife and i was considering buying one and my question to you is how well does the double D edge cut through bone?

  • Thanks for clarifying that fact.

The double D edge makes short work of cartlidge and bone.

Thick bones like in the quarters are tough to get through, but for cutting through limbs, it does a great job.

When I shoot another deer, I'll do a demonstration for those that are curious.

  • Cutco makes some damn good scissors.

  • Damn right they do!

    No penny is safe!

  • That's a really nice looking knife. I use Cutco kitchen knives.

  • How do they perform?

  • Their some of my best kitchen knives. I do have a slightly better set but they need to be sharpened more often than the Cutco knives.

  • Thanks for sharing your experience. I'll be looking into some Cutco steak knives. I f I purchase any, I will make a video, of course.

    Thanks

  • Beautiful...

  • I wouldn't even pay the 90$ that would be the half price point for it, just so many other knives that di just as well.

  • You know how list prices are though.

It isn't for everybody. I bet with a little haggling, you could get a rep to hook you up very fairly. I'm just reporting the facts.

It's just like people that pay more for Matco or Snap-On when they can just buy Craftsmen. They are all lifetime warrantied, so why pay more, right?

  • yes for sure, also, I am more of a "if its to expensive to buy, try making it first, then if that fails buy it" type of guy, and for almost no money I've made knives that aren't as nice looking maybe, but would do the job just as well or even better.

  • I hear you there man. I'm the same way, but since I am no knife expert, I have to fork out the change. I am a "buy it once" kind of guy.

  • looks like a good knife but idk about spending that much on a knife

  • There are cheaper options that are just as good in many respects. Look into CRKT.

  • Great review, short sweet and to the point. some knife reviews go on and on and I just don't have that kind of time. Thank you, happy Thanksgiving

  • Thanks...I try not to let the talking ramble on too much and too needlessly.

Happy Turkey Day to you too

  • thats hot
