  • IF YOU DON'T NEED GAS WHY ARE YOOU BLOCKING THE PUMPS? I HATE WHEN PEOPLE DO THAT!

  • It was funnier when I though he was going to the gas station to buy condoms.

  • i dont get it. what's wrong with going to the bathroom? why doesnt he admit it?

  • haha

  • Id understand if he had to go the the bathroom, but when the kid says "So you have to go to the bathroom",the guy says "no" i dont get that!!!!!

  • Best car, worst ad...

  • Would you beat this kid? And the Father?

  • So if I buy this car....then annoying people will ask me questions?

    Hmmm

  • man what were they thinking with this commercial... you know the one where everyday objects run on gasoline? now that's absolute gold

  • WHY couldn't someone who owns a chevy volt go to a goddamn gas station? what if i wanted something to drink? a quick snack, while on my way to work, or from work, or whatever, why not? this commercial is the most idiotic thing ever, and yes, i looked this shit up JUST so i can voice my opinion on it, its a hated commercial

  • what a douche bag, look at how he parks the thing! he's not getting gas yet he's blocking the pump for someone. inconsiderate!

  • "Yes, kid. I have to take a shit, ok? There, happy? Now I just hope the restrooms are the kind with locking doors."

  • ...I mean, yeah, what is he doing in a gas station?

  • Shut up and drink your soda!!

  • People are annoying in this commercial....the guy has to pee so what?

  • People are annoying in this commercial....the guy has to piss so what?

  • Yeah, I don't get this commercial. I don't understand what the message that you're trying to get across. I realize the volt CAN run off of gas, just an awkward commercial if you ask me.

  • I think that makes the Volt look bad. Not the smartest idea for a commercial.

  • @Katusa1018 exactly what I think

  • The most ANNNNNNNNNNNNNNNOYIN commercial ever .. The man has to PEE for god sakes !! :S

  • Not funny

  • THIS AD IS REPULSIVE! I just saw it on CNBC. It's probably the 8th time I've seen it. What's the message here? Buy this car and rude kids and ignorant people will annoy you??

  • FUCKING rednecks with their gus guzzling cars and their soda guzzling kids...thinking this is their country and they run it. no motherfuckers its a free country. go fuck yourselfs and let the guy take a piss

  • This confuses me. Why is he embarrassed to admit he has to go to the bathroom?

  • Lol. Funny. I've always loved Chevy. So if I were to get an electric car I would get this one..

  • Taking a shot at the "Smug" fad.

  • This commercial blows. The father and son need to get kicked in the balls

  • "so what are you doing in a gas station?" grrrr "LOOK KID I HAVE TO PEE, WHY DONT YOU GO GRAB ME A SLIRPEE. HERE IS A NICKLE FOR YOUR TROUBLE"

  • "so what are you doing in a gas station?" grrrr "I HAVE TO GO TAKE A SHIT KID, WANT TO WIPE MY ASS TOO, DAMNN!!!"

  • haha funny

  • What is the name of the actor who plays the driver of the Volt. I have seen him before in TV shows but can't remember where???

  • @tedlars65 I'd like to know as well. He's also in the Ally Bank stop accepting nonsense ATM commercial

  • @tedlars65 I'd like to know too.

  • WHATS WRONG WITH ADMITTING HE NEEDED TO GO TO THE BATHROOM!?!?

  • I go to the gas station all the time and I don't even have a car

  • "I'M JUST GOING TO THE BATHROOM YOU ASSHOLES! LEAVE ME ALONE!"

Yet...somehow that would make HIM the bad guy...

  • Love this commercial

  • WORST COMMERCIAL IVE EVER SEEN... THIS TYPE OF HUMOR WOULD MAKE BEN STEIN LAUGH (I have a right to use caps lock, im yelling)

  • Hes seein his crack dealer behind the station

  • I absolutely hate this commercial, every time I want to see it I want to slap the advertising team that put this together individually in each of their faces. This ad has no entertainment value and should never have been created.

  • Ok, so i get the point of the commerical, and the economical success that the automobile companies have had when it comes to electric cars... ...but i dont really get this commercial. "So you have to go to the bathroom." "no." "yes you do." that part right there, i don't really get. i mean, ok, he's not there to get gas'... so then whats the point of that part right there? if someone can explain this type of marketing technique to me. if he has to use the restroom, then why is he say no... idk

  • What I got out of this commercial:

Men who drive Chevy Volts are too wimpy to say, "Yes, I stopped at a gas station to use the bathroom. You got a problem with that?"

  • I have taken apart this commercial on my blog:

    commercialanalysis wordpress com/forgive-them-for-they-know-not-what-they-do/

(Youtube doesnt allow links in comments, so just copy the line above and paste it into Google. The first link will be my blog post)

  • One of the best commercials I've seen. I can watch it over and over... just wishing I had one of these cars!!!

  • This is a super-annoying commercial (well, the kid and dad are). I don't understand why Chevy would want to promote a product by making us grind our teeth.

  • - Hilarious!

  • this was filmed in simi valley. My home town. Just saying

  • WOW... This could be the worst commercial of all time... Every time I see this horrible and overplayed commercial on television, I want to stick a fork in my eye!

  • I actually really liked this commercial. It's different, so it caught my attention. It gets the information across about what it's like to own a Volt, but it's more fun than if they'd just said, "Chevy Volts still take gas just like you're used to, but you won't really need to do that unless you have to drive far."

  • This commercial makes perfect sense. Chevy isn't selling any of these cause they're 40k.

  • "What are you doing at a gas station?"

    NONE OF YOUR DAMN BUSINESS!

  • This is a very clever, fun commercial. How could you possibly see it otherwise, unless you're another boring GM hater...

  • @poneilutube its not clever at all in the LEAST bit, and i like chevy...why can't someone who owns an electric car go to a gas station? he could be getting a drink and some snacks...or really COULD be going tot he restroom....people walk to the gas station....wtf, i dont understand how you dont get how this is stupid

  • Just saw this on tv. had to come to youtube just to understand what this commercial is trying to say. god, we apparently not only make awful cars, but also awful commercials to go along with them.

  • So stupid. Punch that nosy, snotty kid in the head.

  • just tell him why you're at the gas station! jesus christ!

  • I drive 2 lifted trucks, one Silverado Diesel and a Tacoma. The Volt or Prius are making me feel like dumbass.

  • Great ad!

  • BEVs or battery electric cars cannot do what Volt does. Since most folks drive 50 miles or less per day - most of their time will be gas free. Volt does not leave you stranded since when it cannot run any longer all electric - it can carry on like a conventional car on gas at 30-40 mpg. Volts were only sold in 7 states, and full production and 50 state sales won't begin 'til next year. How does that mean it's " not selling well "? Pure EVs are too limited. Volt wins. Made in USA.

  • Focus EV and the Nissan Leaf can go 60-75 miles dependent upon HVAC use, terrain, and outside temp. - Then you're stuck. You can't just "fill up" and go - they take 8 - 10 hours to "fill up", so BEVs are very limited. You do know the Volt is made in USA , designed by Americans and soon, it's battery will be made in USA as well - and it can go as far as a conventional car - but outperforms hybrids - Most people don't drive over 40-50 miles per day. Volt goes the first 30-50 all electric.

  • Just saw this commercial 1min ago hahahha no way its on now!!! Had to put it on my FB page! LOL It was a different version sooo funny! I want this car now!

  • This is the most confusing standalone commercial I've seen in quite a while... terrible marketing strategy. No wonder Chevy isn't selling any of these lol

  • @wallkiwi Chevy must have done something right with this ad. If it was bad people wouldn't be searching youtube to watch it

  • @wallkiwi Yes, oh so confusing. Storm clouds of confusion are surrounding my head and smoke is billowing out of my ears I'm so confused!!

  • @wallkiwi I looked this up as soon I saw this commercial to see if anyone else felt the same way. What an awful commercial.

  • I had an EV (home conversion) and as much as I loved driving past the gas stations, the constant, "How far, how much, how long" questions did get tiresome after a while, though hopefully I never let it show. :)

  • What a mess.

  • I remember stopping at gas stations in my EV1 to wipe off the windshield

  • I drove my Nissan Leaf to a gas station last week to buy a few items I was in a hurry for. It felt weird pulling in since I haven't been to a gas station in 6 months.

  • @adric22 im waiting for the focus Ev. its fully Ev and its American.

  • @adric22 I don't support non U.S. cars but this country really needs electric cars right now.
