Thanks so much for posting this video.. I just recently heard water buzzing in my pipes and knew it had to do with the pressure, but couldn't recall which direction to turn the water pressure reducing valve to increase the pressure and stop the buzz. This video provided the necessary instructions that helped me make the adjustments.
Thanks for posting this video. We are trying to diagnose why our water system is knocking recently. Turning down the pressure might solve it. I appreciate you took the time to make this video available to your customers.
@JDBOTS Maybe you could fit a properly sized.. 'Pressure Expansion Vessel as this may help to relieve the locked in pressure in your system as same can damage fittings and connections... .. might be worth a try or even crack back on the main valve very slightly,to reduce the flowrate coming into your property either way try to get professional advice, and address the problem before something could....... Low water pressure at a faucet, unless it is a tub faucet, is often a problem with the aerator and not a problem with the pressure reducing valve. Remove, clean, and probably replace the aerator. It is a cheap fix easily done by non-professionals.
My Watts regulator seems to be leaking as the downstream slowly rises to 130PSIG and then suddenly drops back to the set pressure of 65 PSIG. I took it apart as I thought there may be trash stuck in seat. I cleaned it out and reinstalled it but it's doing the same thing.
@WmRios: You may not have one in your house. It's not a standard feature. I'm about to add one, but I've lived in 4 houses and have never had one before.
I just hope mine isn't under the house in the crawlspace. I hate going under there... But I'll brave it just to increase the pressure so I can take a real shower.
@WmRios it should be located right after the main shut off for your house. Look in your basement for the single cold line coming in or you can trace back the cold line from your hot water heater (usually the first fixture after the PRV)
Thanks! I followed your instructions and increased my pressure with no problems. Nwt it is just right...

I had a watts water pressure reducer on my house for 6 years.
I replaced the original watts water pressure reducer with new watts reducers 3 times in the last two years.
Why is this?

Does the reducing valve have a diaphram and can u use it in place of a water pressure regulator like a radiator cap?

Check your main line/water spigot. Mine is on the water spigot on the side of my house nearest the front yard.
