  • SWEEET! you got it m8, perfect, I dont use a Plectrum (Learned the Mark Knopfler way), just needed to ask, what strings are you using? If I bend mine that far they tend to snap.....I use Dean Markley's Lites, 009 for top/bottom E, depends if your talkin aboot guitar top or musical top, lol ..... but if I bend them that far I usually end up with it buried in my right arm , lol, please tell and Id be so happy.......cheers from a serious Gilmour/Knopfler fanatic............

  • MAaaaaaaaaaaaan ! that's an awesome cover!!

  • i wanna see this man play the whole song. how are you so clean every time??

  • Boy this guy really nails Gilmour's solos! Every nuance is there and it's much appreciated, bravo.

  • You make it look so easy, and make it sound so beautiful.. Dude I'd be the happiest woman on earth if I was your wife. :)

  • Very good, congratulations! David Gilmour is more than a great guitarist, he is a school actually doing good students.

  • not dissing Gilmour but why have his tone?...create your own tone!!You'll never get tired of that tone for sure and if you do you can always tweak it a bit.

  • One small note correction: At the exact 1:30 mark, you should be playing an open E

  • One of the best solos ever done...

Funny how it's all in Pentatonics.

  • The only thing wrong with this was the slide at 1:01 where he plays 14 on the B and G and slides down DX its the best part of the solo!!!

  • David would def approve!!!!

  • great skills and everything but the backing track and the way the gy plays it makes it too relaxed and happy !

  • thank your for just continuing to bend at 1:17.... people shortcut that and move up a whole step, and if you are playing a Gilmour solo note for note you had better have the intonation and strength to do that. way too many people shortcutting that, and it diminishes why Gilmour's touch was like 90% of the solo's difficulty.

  • @boonexy That 1.5 bend, which is a trick that David Gilmour made his own IMO, is probably what makes this solo for me. I've seen "tutorials" of people skip that bend too, and I just follow suit and skip their videos.

  • jamie very good...prety

  • jamie very good...

  • Wow lovely ,, perfect!

  • david is the definition of epicness!!!

  • Wow. Take a second look at your bends.

  • pls what effect that he use ? i think it's a fizer non ?

  • @ahchouch hi there, Jamie Humphries talks about getting the Gilmour sound in our 1st issue of Guitar Interactive Magazine. Will send you the link to the first issue of the magazine. Hope it helps with getting close to the Gilmour sound!

  • @licklibrary could you send me that link too?

  • @ahchouch it sounds like a phaser, i could be wrong tho

  • His guitar is fucking weeping!

  • It sounds like sex

  • And you run and you run to catch up with the sun but it's shinking!! xD

  • And you run and you run to catch up with the sun but it's shinking!! xD

  • @TheEtoimos Racing around to come up behind you again

  • Wow, even I can play this solo better than this. Painting by numbers or what, even cuts off some notes early like they don't matter and the bends don't particularly flow. I wouldn't moan if this wasn't a special channel claiming to give lessons. If you're "teaching" this solo, in particular, it's all about the feel. This guy's stiff as a board.

  • @DoYouFeelLucky you know what you should post a response video so we can all see you play better

  • @low72 Exactly. Jeez....everyone's a critic.

  • some of his bends are a bit flat... 0:26 and 0:35 especially!

  • @metOLIca 0:26 orrible!

  • The important thing is showing the notes. The lessons are great. The tone is not as good of a match as that used in your other lessons. There is too much distracting phase shifter which is not used in the original song.

  • You've got some sexy hands, there, bud. Great playing, too! :P

  • Is it just me or did some of the bends sound a bit shallow?

  • @hyndzy ye i think too it could be a bit better feeeling here and there but overall itrs good

  • Great playing ... but the tone sounds like a wasp in a jam jar.. sorry.. :-)

  • /watch?v=RKSYts1mWLU&feature=youtube_gdata

    tell me this isn't better

  • Magari i bending intonati però....

  • Ao,avesse azzeccato 'na nota...uahahahhaa

  • Hi Jamie, Really great sound with the Blackstar gear What Fx racks are you using? cheers

  • Buying the dvd tomorrow!!! NO TODAY!!!!

  • David is a legend, and with Roger they became Inmortal!!!

  • @chichipotle

    David is angel

    Roger is satan

    Roger is a pro-palestine shit!

  • @EranProductions David is angel, Roger is angel, you are israel shit, thats all

  • @chichipotle HEY!!! Don't forget Mason and Richard (may he rest in peace)

  • Why do you have that thing above the nut...the thing that looks like a girl's hair thing....does that help in some way control the sound?

  • @vaibanez17 I'm pretty sure it's used to dampen the strings to prevent excessive noise.

  • @vaibanez17 Yea, It's a srcunchie. It's used to dampen the excess string noise during two hand tapping solos. It's abviuosly not being used here, because it would be slid down over the 1st or 2nd fret.

  • not bad

  • Love David Gilmour

  • @DarkedBlackSoul117 yeah, David Gilmore is a smooth diamond.
