No offence, but you'd have to be pretty narrow minded to believe Africa as a whole has no hope. Yes, there are massive problems in many places, but it's a HUGE continent. There's more there than war and poverty, and there are plenty of places where things are going in the right direction. Look at Sierra Leone; the conflict in the movie officially ended in 2002, and the country has since become a democratic republic. Not saying the problems are over, but there's definitely hope.

Remember, Europe needed to have it's borders redrawn and entire governments to be brought down (i.e. Tsarist Russia and the Kaiser) to change. And even, the people of the Balkans still butcher each other like animals once every few decades.

Yes, Europe had to go through hell to get to the (relatively) stable state it's at now, but IT STILL GOT THERE, which is the whole point. There are a handful of democracies in Africa today, and there are plenty of places that are defined by more than war and poverty.

Not really, you could tell the love was long gone. When the Colonel was stressing Danny about messing up the sale, wanting the stone as payment, and still hardly budging even though Archer did all the hard work in finding it. Danny knew it would come to this especially when Solomon didn't readily reveal the location.
