  • god damnit, a bailout defeats the ENTIRE PURPOSE OF A MARKET ECONOMY.

    shit

  • fuck no we are not give rich people more money to bail there fucking ass's out.. they did it so they have to pay it..

    its just like this

jimmy wants a house but he cant get one bc he's in 30000 million credit card debt..

but l8r jimmy finds out the goverment will bail him out!!

jimmy was happy that tax payers money went to him.

jimmy now lives in a 500 million dollor house and lives happy

  • Let the economy explode,,so it can destroy wallstreet-This economy already destroyed many families and livelyhoods in the u.s. and abroad.

  • with so much toxic garbage, there must have been such an astronomical feast and gravy train going on before hand!!! soon the mainstreet folks will be hiding their hard earned pennies in the pillows, i wonder where would the wall street top exec. hiding their bullions?? moon??gold plated pillows?? offshore banking?? if one take 700billions and give it away to all the citizens it probably will do more for the economy than to a minority of interest...

  • We simply cannot stand there and watch as one of the biggest economic crisis in history unfolds, we have to act and eliminate the threat once and for all.

Wall Street should be punished for its greediness and mismanagement, but not at the expense of letting the entire economy explode. It's not a decision any of us would like, but it is not like we have a choice.

  • Do people actually understand what it is like to live in a prolonged depression, without credit to afford basic needs and unstoppable unemployment figures?

Do people actually understand the consequences of "letting Wall Street burn"?

Wall Street doesn't burn alone; it takes every single one of us down with it.

  • Do people understand that recessions are a natural part of the economic cycle? Do people understand that a 3 page plan hatched over a wknd will not fix anything. The numbers are too huge. More Keynesian interference will make a deep recession into a deep depression.

  • I think Republican ideology is responsible for this mess. It all started with the crazy trickle-down theory that Reagan sold the country that said no government is good government making its only purpose cutting taxes. The government became the enemy, leaving regular middle class Americans vulnerable to the greed inherent in any of us when large sums of money are involved. We need government regulation as a referee to keep the free market fair for everyone.

  • they are forcing us in, i have goods i have guns i have equity in i just don't have sound currency... i new i should have had a huge garden this year and canned food

  • The financial institutions are one of the most important pillars of any economy, if they fall, the whole system collapses with them. How many non-financial companies rely on the financial institutions for their day-to-day activities? How many jobs will be lost if we simply let the entire system collapse just for the sake of justified punishment?

  • Many people are claiming that this bailout is designed to simply "save" the rich guys while letting the poor guys rot -others are saying that the principles of capitalism must be defended and that the government shouldn't interfere with the market at all.

They are wrong- Capitalism is not "the perfect economic system". As everything, its bound to fail. Are people really willing to give up "bread" for the promise of market "freedom", as the old saying goes?

  • First by Inflation, now by Deflation, they have screwed us. They talk about saving us but it is to save themselves. They have a HELL OF A LOT more to loose than us. They have done took what we have. They paid off our politicians to look the other way while they did it. Now there is hell to pay and they want our children to bear the risk. I say "Hell no". Let it crash and we will rebuild.

  • Is it 1929 or 2008? Will tomorrow be another "Black Tuesday"? I knew I should have invested more overseas, oh well...

  • These people are retarded. The main streets voice their concerns and the Bill was altered to address that, yet the Rep. block it!

It means that the Rep. couldn't hear the voice of the main streets people.

  • Democrats control both houses. Many Democrats didn't vote for it either. You know why? Cause we already have lost. We don't have any more to give. You see they put the risk on us as they gambled with OUR money and future. They attempted to now place our kids and grand children on the hook which could have been trillions before it ended. Let ROME burn, we can rebuild it. Better to have Freedom than stail bread.

  • im speachless...totally speachless....then blah blah blah for 20 seconds

  • When the stocks plummet the computers are automatically programmed to sell them off. The market will crash.

  • If Paulson had not shouted 700B earlier, which broke the momentum, the damage could have been much worst than this.
