SOG Aegis. You can get these for around $45 on the net. The camo one is really cool but will cost you another $20. Has a deep pocket clip, full flat grind, uses AUS-8, and has a wicked fast deployment. Oh, it also uses the SOG Arc-Loc. Nice little package!!
im telling you duane get a sog trident it is practical tthere is different types of colors and it is spring assisted there are some sweet vids on youtube about it nutnfancy has a good review on it. and its around 60 bucks. trust me its worth it. o an thnx for the sub.
Cool idea Duane such a coincidence I just bought 2 new knives at the gun&knife show today if you had made this vid a day earlier I could try out hundreds of pocket knives for you today xD but I'l have a look. I will also send you a pm about my 2 new knives and something else I want to ask you.
Try out the SOG Flash II. It has a 3.5" blade, it is sping assisted, it is very comforatable, 3.1 oz, 8" overall length, 4.5" closed length, $72, Aus-8 steel, and a handle. 5/5
kershaw composite shallot with the zdp-189 cutting edge. search around and you can find one under $80. much more stout than the leek and it has a great cool factor.
SOG Trident. I know you said that you want it to be between 3 and 3.5 inches but the Trident is just fantastic. I love the tanto personally the second point gives great cutting ability and the 3.75 inch blade has enough reach to be used as a last ditch self defence knife. And you can find this knife on the internet for around $60.
Also the clip is super deep and carries nice. I have carried it for hours and hours and does not get in the way its also about as thick as the Tenacious.
was gonna say sog flash 2. because i LOVE it but i see someone already made a vid for it. but glad to see your making videos regularly. your a good youtube-er
Hey Duane...I was all ready to recommend about ten different knives until you said spring assisted, but I can still work with that. In the AO realm, besides a few Benchmades (which are mostly over $75) Kershaw is going to be the ticket. The aforementioned Leeks and Blurs are great, but I would personally go with a Packrat or Avalanche. Both are G10 with great liner locks. The avalance is s30v, and only around $60-$65. The mini-cyclone is a great recommendation as well. If you want a
Benchmade, check out the mini-barrage assisted axis, mini nitrous stryker, or aparition. They're a little more though. A Zero Tolerance 350 is in the $125 realm, but is AO, s30v, G10 and has a liner lock that looks like a frame lock. If you're willing to go non-AO, you can get a lot more for your money, like the Buck Vantage Pro - G10 and s30v for less than $45! There is also the Benchmade Monochrome, Boker M-Type or Trance, Ontario Rat1, Benchmada Nagara, or the CRKT Drifter. Hope this
helps and best of luck. Oh and I'd also check out the Spyderco FRN Stretch II...it's full flat ground VG-10 for about the cost of a Delica. Sorry I forgot that one. Anyway, good luck.
Or the Kershaw Tyrade...154CM/CPM-D2 blade and G10 for around $80-85. The original titanium handled ones were $200+. Great bargain. Sorry I keep adding onto this I just keep remembering knives I forgot about.
Kershaw Cyclone, the blade is a tiny bit bigger then what you want, but it has an on off switch for the assisted opening, which is handy if you need to take your blade out in public and don't want to alarm anyone, has a great utility/self defense blade shape and looks fairly slim and comfortable for the hand and pocket. The blade steel is decent, and the price is also decent depending on where you get it. Good luck man! hope you get a good one.
Hi everybody! Thank you for all the responses! It's going to take awhile to search through and review all of these. I'll let you know when I pick one. Peace, Duane
Kershaw Blur is the best Spring assist I have ever used it just holds up very well in the hand. plus it comes in many awesome colors. I would suggest that. I have had one for a long long time and it still holds up great
Spyderco Paramilitary, Hands down. Got a new one today and Love it. Amazing steel, Easiest knife I've ever had to sharpen. Insane quality. Worth EVERY penny. And it will last you a lifetime +
Kershaw Leek, I got one in 2006 and it has served me well! Its 440A stainless steel and I really like the blade tempering. In my experience its not the easiest knife to sharpen, but it holds a great edge!!!
kershaw blur drop point blade is about the same size of the spyderco and is very fast coming out. mine is blacked out and looks amazing. the blur is razor sharp and nutnfancy has a vid on it.
hi duane i hope i help i would recomend the kershaw leek its very thin and spring assisted 3 inch blade 4 inches closed very good knife or the gerber fast draw its a preety good knife but i dont not know that much info on the knife tho i hope i helped 5 STARS!!!
I'm going to suggest a SOG Flash II or a SOG Aegis. Nutnfancy has videos on both of these knives. The Aegis is $90 though...
Also, the Kershaw Mini Cyclone like cutlerylover suggested. My friend in college has one and he loves it. Its a little heavy but it is a very, very nice knife.
Duane I would first say try the Mini Barrage by Benchmade. You can get on for about $80 - $85. I know you said about $75. This knife is strong. I would say it's better than the SOG Flash II. That would be my second choice for an EDC knife. It's well under $75. You'll only pay about $40 - $50. It's a fun little knife as well. Good luck with you find. Great videos!
yo duane i posted two knife review that i have made from sog that i have there both spring assisted and both perfect edc'ers and the spyderco tenacious would be a really cool prize to get.

you should definetly check out the kershaw cyclone. it is spring assisted, but you can turn off the assist if you want to. Here are the specs:
•Blade Length: 3 3/4in (9.5cm)
•Closed Length: 5in (12.7cm)
•Steel: Sandvik 13C26 stainless-steel
•Handle: 6061-T6 anodized aluminum
•Weight: 6.3oz.
If the blade is to long for you they also make a mini cyclone. The materials are exactly the same, but the blade is only 3 3/16 inches.
Also it's only $34 for!
mrboredguy2 2 years ago
the price is more if you get the one with the black coating or if you get the one with combo edge, but it is still only around $50.
Also there are many many videos of it on youtube.

Benchmade 585 Mini Barrage
Its in a different league than most if not all the knives listed in previous comments
The 585 was selected to be knife of the year 2009 and for a reason.
Benchamde Superb quality, built like a tank. Has that new Axis assist lock and not expensive.
Handle material is space age indestructible plastic. It is excellent, but not as nice as G10 but for EDC though I think its great.
It is a bit higher than $75 (I saw it at $83.90 on BHQ)
