  • Such a sad ending, but appropriate & relevant 4 the times. Love this movie, love this song, love the whole soundtrack & arguably one of the best movie soundtracks of all time.absoultely loved the photography&cinematography, just beautiful.everytime i see this movie, makes me want to go to mardi-gras,but in the lt. 60s, not now.

  • * * * * *

  • as the saying goes you had to be their, long hair and texas in 69 did not mix.

the ending tried to show the reality , of the times sad but true good ending great

flick one of a kind .rip dennis and thank you brother. peace

  • The beginning of the "Bummer"endings that polluted the movies of the early 70's.

No wonder so many people ended up self medicating and being numb to the reality of the times.

  • @teetosh It's better than having every movie magically work out in the end and everyone smiling walking off into the sunset.

  • The best heaven is Biker's Heaven!

  • R.I.P Dennis from Italy...

  • hooper what a great actor i hope he has his humm dinger on at his funeral

  • RIP to the original Easy Rider Dennis Hopper! Thank you Mr. Hopper for making me see how it was to be an Easy Rider. I know today what you knew many years ago in the 60's! RIP my friend from your biker family

  • This changed my LIFE!

  • R.I.P

  • Bye Dennis... :(

  • Wyatt & Billy forever !

  • Certain "lives" are made to have a Positive or Negative influence among each other. Certain "illusions are a product of our a)misbelief b)sadness c)subconscious and many more to mention."I suppose we are all here for a reason. I wish the best to the people with Good Heart and Good Mind to enjoy every minute of it on the world that we live today.

  • there are still intolerant people, some things never change.

  • And they say we have the bad attitude???

  • the ending of the movie reflects the sub-title of the movie:

"A Man Went Looking for America -- and Couldn't Find it Anywhere...". If you lived in those times, you'd understand what it means.... But AMERICA's STILL the greatest country ever!

  • or it could be called two drug dealers fail to connect with life

  • @tumadoireacht ---> ... and which life would that be?

  • @Pasdeaux a life of decency, productivity, and social awareness perhaps-though i will admit the soundtrack was the first album i ever bought !

  • @tumadoireacht .... oh yeah... the True American Credo: "Participate Or Die"

  • Well, well, the "ending wasnt very pretty" and "me go cry to my moma".Thats life you dumb fuckers.

  • sad but good ending!

haha it's kinda funny if you check the change of Dennis Hopper in Easy rider and in Giant

  • We saw Dennis Hopper in Taos... First words outta my mouth were why dont you get a haircut

  • Really sad ending!

  • Man, what a crappy fucking ending this is. Leaves an incognito to what the film is about, until someone goes and tell you it's about the freedom that they DIDNT have.

  • This was one of my favourite movies. Yet, it was one of the worst endings I had ever seen. I mean...WTF!

  • What?

    It Wasent a Bad Ending.

It Was Just a Shocking One.

I Couldnt Imagine a Diffrent Ending.

A Worse Ending Could of Been If It Ended With Them Jus Riding Their Bikes Into The Distance.

    Thats Boring.

  • A wonderful spiritual song. "Escape". I wish that river would take me away.

  • wonderful song..love it - together with the end of easy rider...the camera work has so much soul for me!!

  • Very similar feel to the ending from Thunderbolt and Lightfoot.
