@LozoRozoDX I believe that official so no neckerchief, but I don't know. the kid who looks like Lloyd is Loid (I know, similar names.) and the Paula looking girl is Ana. I guess Nintendo couldn't come up with original designs so they used Mother 1s. But the Games are still fantastic.

Earthbound sold terribly in America (See the commercial and you'll know why). And the final sequel mother 3 was made in japan and never made in america, but has an english rom.

Mother Fans, look, you're all missing the point. Don't you all find it strange that Nintendo has done NOTHING about the ROMs floating around on the Internet? Don't find it at all peculiar that they've neglected said illegal activities even thought they have to know it's going on right now? Personally, I think it's them giving us a gift--they can't publish it themselves so they let us circulate the ROMs in exchange as a way to apologize and let us have what we want.

However, the demand for these games is so little that Nintendo is most likely just not bothered to take the work to release them in any way shape or form. I recall the mother 3 petition which had like 30,000 signatures. So if these people are guarenteed to buy it, then maybe a few more will buy it if it gets good reviews and that's still an insignificant blip as far as videogame sales are concerned.

@VincentValentine1313 Believe it or not, Mother 3 was a commercial failure in Japan. It sold far below the expected demand and bargain bins were filled to the brim with them...kinda like Earthbound. A while back you could import Mother 3 on play-asia for like 15 bucks. Yea, the series is a hidden gem but there' no denying that most people either don't know or don't care. I'm a huge fan of the series but take that for what it is.

I have Just recently Finished Earthbound and am Now playing through Mother 3 I loved Earthbound the game is darker towards the end. and Nintens Quest is different than Ness's although they seem similar. They are great games too :3

eh, I got waay too carried away on the last comment but I still believe I'm correct. I'm pretty sure mother was probably designed to be more optimistic in tone than other rpgs at the time. Mother is a not about slogging around in a dungeon but rather about a group of superpowerful children that eventually have no choice but to beat the final boss with a lovely melody. Is it silly? is it even more absurd than the usual RPG cliches? who cares, mother is just like that and it's fine that way.

On the note of Ninten,Ness,and Lucas, Does anyone else feel that Mother 3 didn't live up to the first two? Not gameplay wise,heck, it's probably my favorite out of the trilogy. But style wise. Mother 1,2 was happy,about friendship,etc etc.

But mother 3? The hero loses half his family, the girl falls in love with the other guy,and the friggin world blows up. Mother 3 IS my favorite outta the 3,but it's...different.

oh, well... the series isnt as good... (at all) without being able to understand the plot/ what the characters are saying. especially mother 1. since it was out for the nes, it was very limited, so if you cant understand what theyre saying, youd probably have trouble doing something as simple as interacting with characters, or withdrawing cash from an atm. heck, even in battle, all it is is a pictue of a sprited villian, a black backround, and words.

Well yeah, I'll pretty much be going through using an English walkthrough, so it should be fine. That should translate all of the text and whatnot. Id say its worth it for me to be able to play the games, lol. But im mainly getting the game for Mother 2.
