It's a fact that pupils only react to environmental light differences. Although some narcotics can cause tightening of the pupils too (or loosening) but thats down to being a drugged up moron in the first instance.

a smaller pupil from extra light will alow less light to the retina therefore a darker percived image and therefore less detail regardless of actual light. , i think it would make absolute sense that this would happen when we see something we dont like, btw itis a fact that our pupils widen (dilate) when we find some one atrractive ,letting in more light and therefore more detail of a percived image . i would put money on it that the oposite is true , when we see some thing we do not like
