... Going on fourteen, fifteen years now, and this track STILL makes my eyes tear up when I hear it. I've yet to find another game with a soundtrack as powerful as what Yasunori Mitsuda crafted for Xenogears.
@ddryll Lol. You say it like it's just one option you face "Yea, I could do, Or I could fall into a river and the water makes me immortal. who knows?"
this song reminds me of the things i am most uncertain about.. i just feel that by playing this song somehow gives me uncertainty and the courage to take that uncertainty away
For anyone that doesn't know, Yasunori Mitsuda also did the song Far Off Promise which is a music box melody as well. You can tell that probably influenced this one, but this one is much more powerful. Xenogears is that game you'll never forget...The story/characters/soundtrack and experience I had playing this game is something I'll cherish until I die.
i remembered when my dad was playimg the game and heard this song for the first time i cried cause it has so much meaning to me and yesterday when i was listening to it i cried cause its such a nice song and the game is awesome and i like playing it over and over cause it reminds me of a lot of old memories and im very sappy but this soundtrack is awesome
I feel like Fei when I heard this... reminisced. happy. and sad, all at the same time. Such wonderful composition by Yasunori Mitsuda, I used to have this song played as a lullaby. :"""""""
When I first got this game I was almost thirteen. I would play it in private, by myself. Not because the story was confusing, that my friends thought it 'wasn't cool', but because this theme would make me cry every single time I heard it.
@Drawomancer hey video games that actually mean something arnt cool to most people because they are shollow, i too am a deep rpg fan amongst a bunch of shootem up hippys,
Xenogears would not be the same without its ridiculously mood setting music; now it shall forever be my favorite game of all time and the only game I can actually stand to play more than once (despite it taking 60 hours per play-through).
Am I the only one who found the combat to be actually pretty damn fun?
@TheGreatCandyman I enjoyed Xenogears' combat. Equipping Billy with an Ether Doubler and letting a barrage of square attacks was obscene. Not as much as Elly+Ether Doubler+Power Magic+Aerods though.

@EpiphanyINC yea i'v thought of that but i'd usually prefer cd quality, but i might just buy the cd some time. might i share, i barely ever touch this game though. i always wonder if i should get back to it. final fantasy vii (the only FinalFantasy and rpg game i'v played all the way through) was a pretty cool rpg, although my older brother who introduced me to it had to help me a lot through it
having to choose where all materias and weapons and everything go to is a bit much 4 me
@92soothsayer me and my brothers played all of them i've only personally beat FFVII, even after all these years I still needed help from big bro to get through it, but he passed away in January so going back on all these is like a nostalgia trip filled with memories. I have almost beat Legend of Dragoon, now need to go back on Legend of Legaia and Xenogears, maybe even FFVIII. Might go through FF7 again but its just not the same without big bro there.
@92soothsayer when i came back to the game as an adult it was easier to understand what the materia did and all the slot crap. Its like adding fire damage onto weapons or fire resistance onto armor
@EpiphanyINC dam dude sry to hear. i'v been distant from my older bro ever since he moved out. we'v had all kinds of differences, more than we'v even probly made clear to eachother. its only got as personal as him calling me names and as if hatefully trashing me in front of everybody with his words, making me look and feel shit. sometimes i think about telling his ass to go ahead and drink himself to death and calling him worthless as he appears to think of me. i dunno. had to share
@92soothsayer Its alright, thanks, I'm no expert on families. Me and my brother had been in a situation where we was angry at eachother and stopped talking about it but we realized it was silly years ago and laughed at it. But not everyone is the same. If your bro don't want to act like family, if you've tried to make things better (if you wanted to) and he threw it back in your face theres just nothing you can do. You tried your best by being the bigger man. But I do wish you two luck.
@EpiphanyINC thanks man. hey, don't sweat it. i wasn't expecting any expert-like opinion, although u got some good input on it. our relationship isnt really bad, we just fall into some dark holes sometimes, like i'v heard from quite a few directions that it's just how siblings are
i'v got my boundaries and hes got his as really do all people individually, the way i see it. if distance really seems like something to try to reduce flames, let it be. decent times come around i guess

Hey everybody! I have released my new album 'Progenitor' which has electronic music inspired by great games such as Xenogears. You can check it out and download it for free on my youtube channel if you're interested!
@NguyenTriThanh1989 So true. Xenogears is Squaresoft's best work imo. I cant stand Enix for the bullskit games they pump out under Squares name. The Xenosagas really upset me,. I love CC,CT and all the FF's but not one of them lay a finger on Xenogears!
I thought with myself: I'm gonna search for that lullaby from xenogears, but i don't know the name. So I typed Xenogears and clicked in the first video. Hell, here it is!
wish they made an anime for this game, i always felt like i was inside the world of xenogears when i played this it was such an emotional game felt so real y cant we have a world just like these games or make more games like this?? wish there was like virtual reality that were so real and vivid where u go inside these games and explore and play the story man would be the best ah its good to dream i need to grow up lol :(

@Kiyumori that speech was so emotional. Also, music box songs evoke emotions regular music sometimes can't. This song is amazing. Hey, open a new tab of this same song, press play on one of them, wait like 15 or 20 seconds and start the other one. I had an awesome layered harmony going, more complex but it worked well. Wish I knew how to explain it better, or better yet knew how to combine both songs into one with a program...
Actually, it's the music box that makes the songs similar. If you noticed, Mitsuda did a music box song for Xenogears, Xenosaga, Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross. Seems like some sort of tradition for him or something Kato and Takahashi always wanted him to make, I don't know.
