My daughter is grown now, she competed in pageants from age 9 thru 19. She has a great career in property management. As a result of winning many titles, she was able to travel to Turkey, Malaysia, France, Hong Kong, Germany, etc, representing the US in International Pageants. Emotionally ruined? No, I don't think so. Pageants opened many doors for her, built her self confidence and gave her the tools to be the educated, talented young woman that she is today. Pageants can be beneficial.

Dressing children up in those sexy outfits and having them wear all that heavy make-up is way too much. Do you ever wonder about what this does to them? Parents hoping that their kid will win so they can support the family. This is role reversal and child abuse.
I just watched a special on VH-1 show titled, "Little Beauties: Ultimate Kiddie Queen Show" and the Host of this Beauty Pageant mentioned to the Judges and crowd that this six year old little girl said that "her goal is life is to become an attorney because she likes to argue." All kids argue!
They are too young to comprehend that not every contestant is going to win and this is hard on these kids. Yes, kids (both sexes) as young as six years old do suffer from eating disorders at this young age and these pageants don't help. Eating disorders are life-threatening
Please tell me, what in "real life" allows every person to win? In soccer, there is a winner and a loser, in little league, one team wins, the other doesn't. My brother played sports his whole life, once on a LL team that went 0 and 10 for the season, he didn't grow up to hate sports or hate life. Same with pageant kids, they are as happy as any other kid, come see for yourself... attend a pageant.
six year old probably dont even know what an eating disorder is. and if u paid attention to the documentary, the girls were eating french fries and other meals while getting there hair done.
i know joanna was sitting on the bed eating a pizza or something and they were all stuffing there faces in shubet and sweets i dont think thy hav eating disorders

These Beauty Pageants Promote Eating Disorders. These are kids NOT adults! In my opinion, parents (mom's mostly) are living their dreams through their kids. These pageants also promote sexual predators. Beauty is only skin deep and that is a major misconception! It's what's inside of people that truly count. These kids are too young to understand what is really happening.
Wow! Fabulous Faces looks like such a great pageant! My favorite pageant girl, Bailey Perez, competed here and won Novice Supreme in 2007! I know a few girls that were there, too. Leila, Journey, Cassadee, Shelby, Taylor, and Brooke. That's really all I saw, lol! I want to go to Fab Faces this year!
NO IT ISN'T YOU! PLEASE KNOW YOUR FACTS BEFORE YOU POST. THE FIRST GIRL WAS CORRECT. THE BLOND IS JOANNA WHITNER, AND THE GIRL NEXT TO HER IS KENNEDY AZUBIKE (PRONOUNCED AZOOBIKAY). Yes, they were both featured on little beauties. a show that MOST true pageant competitors HATE and try to avoid at all costs (they try to avoid any tabloid show). As a coach, i recommended my girls stay away from all of those shows.
I am replying to you dancelife 450...you don't know what you are talking about. That child is NOT shelby Bryant or Journey...it is Joanna and Kennedy. Please know who and what you are talking about before you post. I have known these children since they were babies.
Poor kids. Silly mothers.
