@GeeWizzers1 Lol, Americans not knowing how to pronounce German last names. Lol. I could just imagine them trying to pronounce the German version of his name [which I'm pretty sure is Freilich]
kiss used Eb tuning for almost all of there songs. up until the love gun album there were only two songs that didn't have Eb tuning, hotter than hell (song) tuned down a whole step, and hooligan tuned to standard. the rest is tuned Eb. for songs after the love gun era you'll have to look up cause they switch off from standard to half step tuning.
Ace... you Magnificent BASTARD !!! that E flat tuning drove me Fuggin' nuts when i was a kid.... trying to play kiss tracks & thin lizzy tracks & Heart etc tuning up & down.... I thought there was something wrong...... You owe me a beer buddy.....
i assume your new to guitar? its basically tuning your strings half a step (note) lower so EADGBe becomes EbAbDbGbBbeb the b's meaning flat (lower). to tune to it put your guitar in standard tuning (you should know how) then tune your strings to the 6th fret instead of the 5th fret
nope. you fret the low e on the sixth fret then play the e and a strings and try to match the pitch of the e to the a. if you fretted the e on the 4th youd be tuning to Bb
@dikocaca no you misunderstood. when you fret the 6th fret on the e string your tuning the e string down, not the b string up, so it would be eb. you dont have to get an attitude, maybe you should read more carefully.
@DimitriVHefley nah he was asking about tuning down and some asshole decided he wasnt going to read my post and instead just blatantly insult me. i was saying you fret the e string at the 6th and tune the e string down to match the a string, thus tuning it to eb when you play it open. or you can fret the e string at the 4th and tune the a string to match the e. its all the same results either way
instead of playing in standard tuning E you tune down to Eb. Very simple. He explains it in this video. In other words the notes are lower when tuned down and when you sing its easier to hit high notes. Tuning down is also a bit "heavier" sounding.
I say "Frail-lee", only because thats how he says it and I would think that if it's how he says it and it's his own name, it would be the right way. If I never heard him say it I would probebly say "Free-lee".
because guitar world talked with Ace Frehley About His New Album Called "Anomaly". yes its just a sample. my guitar world magazine came with this sample dvd and had stuff like this on here. Id like to get his dvd tho. Im A Huge Fan Of Ace Frehley

It's "Fray-lee" because it rhymes with "Haley" as in "Haley's Comet" and that's why his old band was called Frehley's Comet!

rickyjshiznit 1 year ago
@rickyjshiznit You always tune to the fifth fret. Always, except for G to b, then you always tune those to the fourth fret. Thats how it works.
