I say this because brothers will talk a lot of trash for their "perches".. They will squawk, and cut folk off, and condemn folk to impress, but really aren't doing anyhting about the problem.
I've networked with brothers that talk all this "Black folks ain't doing this".. Schizo.
They want to lead, and impress, but do what to do or invest.. Believe it. When the Caucasians come around to talk to "the chief or leader" they don't stand up.. If you make a simple mistake, you're done
Are to lazy to open up businesses to cater to each other so they direct these foreigners right to the black community because since integration our community have been wide open for outsiders to come in & set up shop! i commend brothers like swp & others who desire to network & open up small businesses in the black community! my uncle did it 30yrs ago with a small fried chicken & fish takeout called Harold's he started with one & 30yrs later he has franchises all over Chicago & the country...
@azumanation - that's not my point. Starting your OWN company and then turning it INTO a franchise is a power move! I totally commend and congratulate your uncle. The point of this vid is it irks me to hell when people try to state that indians, africans, and arabs are making these huge business networks and powermoves compared to AA people. The only reason they open ALREADY ESTABLISHED franchises is because they do NOT have the business networks available so they pay for it by franchising!
@vector313 I agree with you brother they do not start off making a power move like most black people think! they have to buy the name of these franchises & follow those franchises strict rules & regulations to a tee or suffer the consequence of that cooperation buying that franchise back from the owner...yes you are correct it's not easy as it looks owning a franchise. my take on it is this! why bother trying to open up a franchise when it would be wiser to start off small & grow from there!
@vector313 I think that you can have the best of both worlds by STARTING OFF emulating the style of a particular franchise that is very successful to easily get your customer base, then SLOWLY change the flavor and add your own twist to it to make it your own.
@diamondlife - Like McDowells on Coming to America, LOL. The only thing is you still aren't plugged into the supply line that franchises are in. This causes higher supply costs, thus driving up costs of the final products, and often causes small business to have to charge more for the same hamburger that McDonalds has on the 99 cent menu. That's why people hate Walmart, because they beat everybody's prices and kill small businesses.
@vector313 Would you think that, let's say, franchises like Blimpies or Subway have a "Exclusivity Clause" with the meat vendors to keep other potential like sandwich shops from starting and becoming major competition.
@diamondlife - not necessarily, but sometimes yes. But it's not so much exclusivity; its just a fact of volume. Suppliers give discounts for the more you order. A franchise is ordering for its locations in HUGE bulk, thus lowering the cost per item. So when Subway is ordering 50 thousand tomatoes, they are getting them at half a cent per tomato, while mom and pop shop is only ordering 500 tomatoes and paying 3 cents per tomato. Once all the sandwich ingredients add up, the cost is more.
cont...to purchase those items they couldn't get in the first store & they do this on purpose that is called networking even dope dealers use that type of system. swp can open up any business & be successful so long as he have done some good research of the demographics of the area he wishes to open up his business in! & it better be in a neighborhood with a high condensed black population. these foreigners don't have this knowledge until they are told by white people that black people
I have watched these Indians for 30yrs now open up businesses in the black community & get filthy rich. shame on us as a people allowing this bullshit to take place! even though these foreigners don't own these franchises they still network with each other. if one Indian owns a mobile & the Indian down the street owns a bp those two owners will work together by storing certain items on one another's shelves... so if one store doesn't have certain items the customer can go to the next competing
It is not a question that Indians & Arabs are opening up 711 & mobile gas stations while networking with each other franchises! it is a fact that they are opening up these franchises not in a Arab or Indian neighborhoods they are opening them in our neighborhoods because we don't see the need to provide these types of services to our community! we don't need to open a franchise what we need to do is open small businesses in a black community that is not racially gentrified
@azumanation - that is not their choice! Except for smaller franchises, normally when you start a franchise, it is the franchise company that identifies the locations and demographics that they are trying to target, then tell the potential franchisee where they would be ALLOWED to open up. Being a franchise owner, especially of a major company such as 711 or mobil gas, is basically being a high priced employee. You have to run the business exactly as you are told, AND pay to have the name.
@vector313 Yes this much is true but from my observation for the past 30yrs these cooperations always steer these foreigners to the black community! because it's always a void that needs to be filled...thanks to over 40yrs of integration a lot of our successful & highly educated blacks have abandoned these inner city neighborhoods & left them wide open for the foreigners to setup shop with little or no competition! it is long over due to get back in the habit that our grandparents were in &
Respond to this video...Was opening up small businesses & making sure that we give the highest quality & products & services so that our people will be proud & obligated to patronize us!
Show me some receipts.
