Dear Video Poster, you know that most people who comment on the internet are just idiots who have nothing better to do than attack activists who actually take action to protect ourselves from a fascist government and police state. Which is something I have to remind myself everytime I look at media on the internet. In the real world, there are more of us who support you :) Don't let the sad lonely internet whiners get you down. Most of us freedom fighters are on the streets, not on the internet.
the guy is saying" hey sweetie im coming home early today, i just got off work. Hey listen, can you make me some of that mac and cheese that we had last night? I miss your cooking sweetheart and I can't wait to come home to eat your food. Love you, by the way, there's an idiot recording me while i'm on the phone with you. "XD
We know that this individual is a University police officer for several reasons. First, we have seen him in uniform previously. Secondly, he was involved in a big car accident on 19th and Holloway where a vehicle ended up upside down because of police reckless driving.
cept he walks like a cop and immediately left (on his obviously fake cell phone call, he wasnt even talking) as soon as he noticed he was getting videotaped.
Mr. Fabian, "Getting on his ass?" Did I say anything to him? Using your same logic, as this is a free country, and seeing that this is a public campus, am I not perfectly entitled to go anywhere on campus with a camera? I really couldn't give two shits about what anyone has to say what I do so long as I am acting within the law. Since when was being a law abiding citizen a bad thing?
Cassidy99ful, I know that this individual is a DPS official because I had seen him on numerous occassions as a bike cop on campus. He was also involved in a car accident on 19th and Holloway which was covered by the school newspaper.
you talk shit about them til your punk asses get beat up or robbed at gun point then you winny little bastards cry about where are campus police when you need them. Shit you don't care why should they.
And don't spam my comment either! What isn't true about what I said? 2 CHP officers make what, $200,000 a year max? Now look at the entire worthless campus police department. You take all those "supervisors" and officers and how much does the state spend? Not to mention money for cars, guns, etc. What a scam they got going. I wonder why the chancellor doesn't get rid of them. Maybe they're his own little gestapo. They must be. I'm sure that big-head chief does what he's told.
Have you ever thought about what a waste of money these morons are? The millions of dollars that the state gives these idiots? And for what? Traffic tickets? And what are the supervisors responsible for? How do you supervise a traffic ticket? Nice little scam you got going, you worthless sacks of shit. Here's an idea, get 2 officers from the CHP and make them responsible for SFSU and you just saved a few MILLION dollars! And at least they'll know what the fuck they're doing!
What exactly are you trying to prove or promote????
Let's say if something DID happen, you would of been saying: oh, security should have been there, they're never around...Now that security is there, you're freakin' video taping them. Dumbass, you could of ruined a major case...Fuckin' idiot! You citzens are unbelieveable. If he's an undercover police official like you say...Don't you think he's there for a fuckin' reason?! YOU'RE A FUCKIN' IDIOT!!!!!!
AllAmericanGuy01, Please calm down and take a breath. If something did happen, how do you know what I would say? How do you know that I would be complaining "Where are the cops?" I accept uniformed police but undercover cops are unecessary and only promote mistrust. Anyways, how do you know that he was there for a major operation? Do you think that someone would really pick Mal. X plaza for some major type of illegal operation?
Globalgringo, How can you establish tests of patriotism for other American citizens? They may be a different religion but democracies are about citizenship not "What religion are you?" and "Are you doing enough to denounce others around the world?" No one but God has a right to judge others so I would suggest that you look at yourself rather than look to criticize others in whom you most likely know nothing substantial about.
you sure he just wasn't calling his wife or something maybe calling in sick? to me it looks like he was just chilling relaxing being your average Joe playing hooky on a cold cloudy usual day at state not being able to enjoy a day in Malcolm X Plaza because people are being crazy vigilantes. He also does look like he is undercover getting caught red-handed. You should have gone up to him and just straight up asked if he was "undercover."
lol seems too much like a cop. But muslims are always scrutinized just because a few fanatics out there tend to disrupt modern society. The ones that contribute within the society are held in accordance and in a same negative regard as the fanatics. So whoever took this video has his right to do so. He feels he is under-represented because of certain surveillance provedures such as this. In such a tension filled era authorities are scared they don't know whom to watch. Hence this.
I can tell you that the individual who took this is not-Muslim. I know this because it was I who took the film and for the record, I know that I am not of the Muslim faith because it is very difficult to be a good Muslim as I do enjoy the drink, and sleeping in.
This film footage was taken because this is a open and public campus. This film footage was also taken to turn the camera around and film police. You can see they do not like it.
Colber331, Really? Let's see, its been a year and you have yet to find me. I would suggest that you concentrate on your studies rather than being pissed off at others for simply doing activities which are perfectly legal and protected by the laws of this land.
Peace957, I can use your same logic and say, "If they have nothing to hide, then why are they sending undercover officials to monitor students?" How can trust be built if the police conduct themselves in a secret and hidden fashion? I do not expect a reply since you will most likely just rant about anti-war activists. Why so angry? I am just doing activities which are perfectly legal and protected by the laws of this land, just like any good Republican.
@usmonroedoctrine What kind of logic is that? You don't know what their UC operations are. You don't know if they are monitoring the students, or looking for one fugitive in particular. NOT ALL Police are UC. The police are NOT here to keep secrets from you, but to protect the GREATER public. Sure, you "Copwatchers" can remain blissfully ignorant your whole life, and label yourself as a law-abiding citizen. But there is a strong difference between abiding the law, and abusing your rights.
This is Officer Kevin "Mighty Mouse" Thomas of SFSU police protecting you from your ultra-liberal lunatic selves. He is on this foot patrol, in mufti, no cop car, after smashing into a car at 19th Ave & Holloway while responding to a robbery in progess. She flipped over and he wrecked his unit, too.
looks to me like any other citizen on a phone. Besides, if it was a cop they have a job to do. Surveilliance helps police detect and prevent a lot of criminal acts before they go down.
Next time you need the police you might want to think twice about how you think about how you bitch about they do their jobs. Get a clue.
Besides if you have nothing to hide and aren't doing anything illegal than what is the harm in the police keeping an eye on everyone?
First, we must look at the quality of the police in whom are doing the surveying. It is one thing to survey, but it is another thing to consider what is done with that surveying information. My purpose is not derived from an unqualified distrust in police but from a consideration based on historical data and other observations specific to the "police" at this specific campus. This force has shown itself to be undeserving of the job they perform. Logic, not emotion.
Hey..tinfoil boy..take your Schizophrenic meds today? Somebody makes a Rodney King tape in the 90s and now there is a camera focused on every cop in an attempt at vigilance. On the street everybody is a lawyer/do-gooder that tries to "keep cops in line".You have no freakin' clue what cops do or what they go through.I tell ya what..reach down and grab a hold of yourself and become a police officer. Then you can really keep an eye on the cops...Oh what's that..you already failed the background check
Next time, I hope you would wait before making blind judgements, on issues in which you know nothing about, and casting personal comments toward people in whom you have no idea what they may be capable of.
This illustrates the good and bad of the internet. You can communicate with billions of people instantly but it also allows for know-nothings to talk shit and spout their ignorance. I guess you must take the good with the bad.
And if he was an "undercover police official"...SO FRIKING WHAT?? OH-LORDY-LORDY! Lookie how the big bad policeman violated my rights by sitting and watching and using a phone....I know it must be in the constitution somewhere...if im slightly offended by this guy's presence, its not MY problem its the big bad ol' goverment holding me down...after all its in the 4th ammendment that the people will not be looked at! MORONS!
NDAaron, All I can say is WOW! You obviously do not like others who do not think like you. Simply put, our constitution protects dissention and the free exchange of ideas. For some reason I think that you have THE answer and the only answer which is acceptable. Next time, how about being a bit more tolerant of others who wish to dissent, especially within bounds of the law? In closing, I never mentioned this as a violation of my rights. Please do not spin my words.
You dont have the first clue how I think. I was using sarcasm to point out how silly your video is. Even if this dude is an undercover cop the question remains...SO WHAT? Your narrative related that his actions were "unwarranted and unwanted". The fact that they are "unwanted" is meaningless as the police have the right, AS DOES EVERYONE ELSE to sit and observe activty in a public place. Unwarranted? I dont even know where to start...how is what watching and talking on a phone unwarranted?
Further, you mention you wish me to be tolerant of those who dissent..you have yet to articulate anything that you have dissented. There is no guessing here, this individual is an individual in the employment of the police here at San Francisco State University. The purpose for posting on Youtube is so that others can see this and decide for themselves whether such actions are an acceptable set of actions. As for the dissent, you seem to have a fundamental issue with this video taping. You took the initiative to downgrade and taunt someone, you don't know, for doing something you disagree with.
The fact that these actions are unwarranted and unwanted are more to do with historical particulars, specific to SFSU, than an overall generalization of all police.
