I'm not too crazy about Ayres's Frieza either. I think one of the main reasons he gets so much praise is because his lines are so well written. I wish they would have kept Linda, hearing her perform Frieza with the new, more accurate dialogue would have been awesome. And Clinkenbeard's Gohan.... I'm not even gonna go there.

Linda Young isn't bad in her own right in my opinion, but Chris Ayres does a much better job of capturing Frieza's evil, cold traits. Now if only Clinkenbeard wasn't doing Gohan...
@call4dead3 If you mean the clips to Bohemian Rhapsody, it's from a movie called Final Fantasy VII Advent Children (or Advent Children Complete). Complete is a "Director's Cut" if you will, of the original film. It's the sequel to FF7 which was a PS1 game released in the US in 97.
I think Ayers has come a long, long way. I didn't like the delivery of his one little line at the end of episode 19, but he's gotten better and better ever since then. I love the new Freeza voice.........well, *now* I do, anyway. I didn't at first but he won me over.
@TheShockMaster Yeah, I've heard that he's gotten a LOT better since Frieza first appeared, but I still will always miss Linda Young and her performance (oh well, that's why I have my Season Sets! : D)
Sure, I love Kai, but I'm not giving up my DBZ DVDs. Still, watch him in the later episodes. At the end of episode 19 when he had his one little line, my thoughts were, "I hope we just caught him on a bad line, but what are the odds of that?" Well...turns out, that's exactly what happened. We caught him on a bad line. He's been great ever since.
I watched YU-YU for quite a time when Toonami/cartoon Network had it on, & I love strong, resillent, female characters, like ANDROID 18 of dbz and Genkai of YUYUHukusho...Genkai's voice is very reminiscent of Frieza, yet oddly enough, as comfortable and calming as Genkai's voice surprisingly was to me, until this moment...I never realized it was Frieza that it reminded me of until I did a wikipedia search on 'Linda Chambers-Young', just now. I love all of you, GOD bless us all! DBZ, GOD BLESSit!

But I gotta say, I'm kinda like Frieza's new voice. It's not terrible to me and it's actually rather creepy sounding. Kinda makes him sound a bit more evil. Though I do wonder rather or not he'll work on changing his voice at all for Frieza's transformations.

@Fluteo Linda Young has a good frieza voice but Chris Ayers sounds better and he tries to make frieza his own not Linda's you what happened when the funi dub tried to sound like the ocean dub

I prefer the new Ginyu Force voices and Freeza voices as opposed to the old ones.
As for Gohan, I like his old one better. Yeah it was bad when they first started (which was 68), but the voice actress got better.
