Does anyone know where i can download a copy of zune 3.0??? All i can find is zune 4.7 and it won't work with my zune.

Hmm, people who say Zune's suck are very ignorant. Look at the facts, the software and the hardware. The only reason that Apple is doing better is because they got a head-start in mp3's and have come up with something original. If the majority of people could be bothered to research players before they bought them and thought rationally about the benefits rather than what people think about them for not following the crowd, Zune would be so far ahead!

iPod touch and iPhone are exceptions, but the price difference makes that clear. (you can buy music using zune 3.0)

I did think logically before getting my iPod Touch.

I thought that Apple already has an impeccable infrastructure for the iPod, and so it would therefore be easier to manage my media and control my purchases. The iPod Touch is one of the most advanced touch-screen hardware devices out on the market.

Zune however, doesn't exist in the UK yet...

You can, but only with a fake Passport account that doesn't have any Canadian billing info on it. You have to buy US-based Xbox Live points too. Check out The International Zune Users Guide I wrote over on Zune Thoughts, it has all the details.

it works in australia - set your live account and your computers region to US, and then you can use microsoft points which are no doubt available in your country to buy stuff/get a zune pass.

In Canada at least, we can't use the points we buy here - we have to purchase US-based points off eBay, etc. It sucks. :-(

that's the problem i go to the web site click on the link that say download software only and the link doesn't work.

i also tried from the zune software, i went to settings click in look for update and that told me is an error and i can't download the new software

Why, the Zune 120 of course. :-) It's selling for $249, the same price as the Zune 80 was. It will not have the Premium Headphones however...

I mean, one of the reason I love the Zune is because it doesn't have the chrome back like the iPods. It's like Microsoft is taking a step back in a device that makes strides forwards. The Zune 80 is going to be discontinued...Microsoft isn't making any more, so if you one one, buy one while you can. The ones on the market now have the Premium headphones. I agree that the glossy, finger-print prone finish isn't great...though I do love my red Zune 80. :-)

I like the matte look on the front much better and the metal back with my zune original laser etching. Front to back I say my 80 is hands down the looks winner but I would still trade it for the extra 40 gigs of hd :D

I live outside the U.S. so there is no zune here yet...and when I updated my zune software I t shows me an error and now I can't update my firmware or anything!!!! Can anyone help

Yes my zune software version is 3.0...When I try to open the software it opens a window that says "Runtime error R6025-pure virtual function call"

Reboot your PC, search for a tool called Unzoone, run it, reboot, then install the Zune 3.0 software from the Zune Web site. Before docking your Zune, reboot it.

this firmware update is gonna be sweet and greatly improve the feel of the zune it will have more of a fun factor like the iPod. but i think that some new hardware is in need i would suggest that they make the new ones thinner, brighter, bigger screens, and also i think they should make the center touch pad able to just tap on it instead of clicking it. and they should have more colors, brighter colors i like the new blue one!

Yeah, I know that now... But I didn't even know the Zune 120 was even coming out until I watched your videos so I thought it was an extremely new product that no one knew the specs or anything on... There are two games coming for all Zunes with the new 3.0 update that comes out on September 16th: Hexic and Texas Hold 'Em. There's no word yet on games being sold in the Marketplace or anything similar.

Yes, any WiFi connection that is open, or one that requires WEP/WPA. If it's a browser-based authentication system, then no, it won't work because the Zune has no browser.

No, just the 3rd version of the software. The new Zunes are upgraded with more hard drive space and this new update (older Zunes get the software update for free). 3rd Gen Zune's would probably totally different devices, with better displays and more horsepower. Something like a totally graphical Marketplace doesn't seem possible on the current Zune's, including the new ones. Let's hope it turns out to be a phone, or can at least browse the internet. This would flesh out the Social capabilities.

This is Zune 3.0. Third generation software, and third generation hardware - it's just that the 3.0 hardware is barely upgraded from the 2.0 hardware, offering only new capacities. So, not very exciting for 3.0 hardware.

I haven't worn a watch in 10+ years. Not everyone wants to wear a watch - I get the time from my mobile phone, like most people, but quite often if I'm listening to my Zune it's out in front of me, and my phone is in my bag or something - so that's one reason why I wanted a clock on the Zune. :-)

No word on that yet. I haven't had trouble with tags in a while - though I did update my tags to ID3v...something or other. There are so many versions of tags, it gets a bit confusing. :-)
