I love the way this is done. The narations and the composition, so perfect. It kind of reminds me of Peter and the Wolf in the way that it highlights each instruments uniqueness. Mike had such a powerful grasp of tone and color, a true musical painter.

I love the fact that Oldfield refused to write Tubular Bells 2 for Virgin Records because they tried to pressure him into it, then went to another label and immediately wrote TB2 just to annoy Richard Branson. Class. Thank goodness he did write it though. What a lovely song The Bell is.

Vivian Stanshall is the bloke in this piece who did the MC intro on the 1973 original, appropriately for Virgin Records' first record release. Inspired by the Bonzo Dog Doo Da Band's 'The Intro and the Outro' , dated late 60s featuring Viv as the band's lead vocalist.. It's on you tube

After reading up on it a bit, I found that Alan Rickman was the MC, though alternate b sides have both Billy Connolly and Vivian Stanshall.
