  • i wonder how much power does your rig draws from the mains.

  • can the tuniq tower fit am3?

  • @CyBeRproductionz Should, it fits on AM2 and AM2+ which usually means it fits AM3. I wouldn't get a tuniq tower though. . .

  • fuck with this you can play easely everything on pcsx2

  • computer cases are designed to have maximum air flow there is no point on leaving the side panel off( air is sucked on from the front and sucked out the back). this just makes me laugh. have fun replacing you components after about a year or maybe two of use.

  • lol @ youtube battles. gotta love em

  • good view, now I know that it fits with the Ram cooler installed... thanks!

  • Hmm i dont know if i am Right here but if you have a intel core 2 duo cpu's when they reach 70C they shut down them self :S Or you disabled that from the Bios

  • Good OC! 5/5

    I have the system, but with E8500 @ 4.52Ghz (1.34V) and GTX295 @ 666/1432/2222

  • u said ur cpu temp gets up to 70 C??

    Is that safe?

im just asking because i want to learn more about computers. Btw nice rig!

  • 70C is pathetic, it should have shut itself down

  • No, it isn't. Ideally you should keep the CPU below 50; even lower if you plan to overclock it. It depends on the processor, but the maximum temperature I'd ever want to see a CPU go is 45 degrees celsius at max load.

  • Your joking right? they are designed to run at UP TO 70C, 50-60C is normal for OEM companies machines like HP,Dell,Compaq.

    Were you speaking "Ideally 45C"?

  • Yeah, I was. Although if you're going to overclock, below 45 or so (it all depends on an individual CPU, though) is pretty much a must if you want it to go well.

  • Overkill, dude. Anything below 65-70 celsius is perfectly safe for a CPU.

And you can continually operate at those temperatures indefinitely. They're designed specifically for it.

  • Safe, yes. Stable? No. Especially with overclocking.

Of course, it all depends on the CPU in question too. I use an AMD PII 955, and they like to be kept cool; it actually has more of an effect than voltage for them.

For all I know we could both be right ant we're just talking about different processors.

  • Well you're absolutely right in saying it depends on the CPU. However, for this one in particular, the E8400, it has an extremely positive overclocking reputation. In fact a quick search of E8400 here on youtube and you'll find nothing but overclocked versions of it, because it's terribly easy to do.

Now, 4.4 GHz with high voltage, on air... even for this CPU that's stretching it, but it is possible. It'll just shorten the lifespan of the component.

  • Well, ANY overclocking will shorten the life-span of a component, but it's usually worth it. After all, not all that many people will use the same processor for 10 years, or even 4.

Overdoing it is still very possible, of course...

  • Indeed I agree with that. If hardware is kept cool and treated correctly, non-overclocked components can last for well over a decade, so there's no real harm in a little overclocking.

Even a high-end overclock if handled right can still last for several years, it's just getting the most bang for your buck. =]

  • @UnknownXV yeh i agree, i dont have any fancy cooling or anything with a similar setup to this guy and i can maintain 55-60 which is great.

  • will a AM3 ATX motherboard fit in this case?

  • 1.50vcore....? god! ive been ocing for a few years and i learnt that tempd dont kiil ur hardware but voltages do.... 1.5vcore is realy high...!!

  • I'm running at 1.5v myself. It's fine... as long as you keep your temperatures low, which he is NOT.

  • wow i like his os, nice with the going to the win 98 lol, why do people swich their visual to that vista/xp is sooo much cooler, the win 98 look makes ur nice computer look old

  • you're gonna have to troll better than that

  • g5 is shitty? e8400 is shitty? Shitty tower? you fuckin gay or someshit? you know that 8400 if oced well enough can get to the performance of some quads.... btw if hes running a 32bit os.....then 2 gigs of ram is more than enough....i have 4 gigs of ram in my pc..and i only use 30% of it at max..and i play gta iv and cod5 on my pc and nfs undercover with all maxed out.. there is no need to have a redicoulous amount of ram...fuck off

  • 2 gigs? on vista? you gotta be kidding me you must run xp

  • wanna bet? ill take a screen 4 you right now

  • so you run 2 gigs on vista? lol, your shit must be slow as hell

  • i just said i have 4 gigs you idiot....man never mind if your too stupid it figure it out then nevermind

  • well u stupid bitch y say u only need 2 gig bcuz that is not true for vista or gaming

  • k obviously you have NO idea on how ram works....and what it does....so ill explain it to you step by step ok? i have 4 gigs of DDR2 ram in my rig....i can expand upto 8 gigs, but thats besides my point. Ram stores info from your hard drive into it, so the cpu does have to go to the hardrive to get the info, bassically making it faster...my pc is running around 15 startup programs, and i do gaming, yet my pc says i am only usuing 38% of it, not even half, therefore less than 2 gigs. OK!!

  • naw you think even if it says your only using 38% wen th computer is doing task it can go well above 38%, and games use video card ram before it take pc ram, and p.s. vista takes a lil over 1gb ram by its self , and it aslo depends on how fast your ram is, get regular ram and se how far you get on 2 gigs dont tell me about computers dude i go to school for this.

  • does the gtx 295 require an sli motherboard or powersupply? please respond

  • I dont think so.....i think it just need a motherboard that has PCI-E 2.0 compatable....although a second rail powersupply will be a good choice tho.....(OCZ are best in my opinion)

  • Forgot to mention that my 3DMark06 score is 22380 and Vantage score is 27372. This is with a Q9650 and dual GTX 285's in SLI.

I'm not sure if this applies to the 295, but I am told that 3DMark06 doesn't take advantage of SLI configurations, which your 295 essentially is, so that may be another reason why most 295 owners use Vantage over 06.

  • 3DMark06 doesn't do your rig justice. Retest with 3DMark Vantage and take advantage of DirectX 10. 3DMark06 is more cpu based and Vantage is more gpu based.

Also, even though you have an awesome overclock on your E8400, you would still benefit by upgrading to a quad core processor. I wouldn't be surprised if you are running into a cpu bottleneck with the dual core.

  • only 2 gigs of ram???

even my laptop has 4 gigs

if u can afford a gtx 295, surely you can afford at least 4 gigs of ddr2

  • with all your cooling hardware is it possible to keep it as cool as a liquid cool PC and is that what is letting you CO all your Hardware because you have many fans installed,

  • i have 6 in mine lol!!

  • wow, to be able to OC memory does it depend on what the MB max is_

  • ROFL at the comments. /rant StaticxMako you are sooo wrong. It is 1 card with 2 PCBs and 2 GPUs. Quad SLi doesnt mean 4 cards. It means 4 GPUs. Take into consideration the New GTX295 with both GPU's on a single PCB or CARD as you call it. You still can't have 4 of them. Sli has nothing to do with cards and rather the GPU count. /end rant

Nice PC and score. Im surprised you're not getting more out that card. Nice OC on the E8400 btw.

  • Give me an example of a higher score with similar setup.

  • get one

  • LIFE?

  • i was saying you cant have 4 gtx 295s idoit

your speaking in the sence that the 295 is a single card its not its 2 idoit

if you had 4 in one system i would be 8 not 4 you stupid fuck

thats like me trying do tri sli with one pcie bus

  • lmao i have same mousepad

  • 295 is 2 cards...... srry but typical of a nv user

    had to be said man

  • its 1 card, with one connection to the motherboard, it has 2 pcbs and 2 GPUs, but it is still just one card.

  • if it was one card you could have four of them in a system. and you cant...... so no
