I like to call it the "Page Run" because he's the first person I've heard use it (by first, I mean earliest timewise, back in '68). I like hearing it, it sounds really cool.

I play it sometimes and something I love to do is slowly rock the wah forward as I play it. It gives a nice sound

The similar parts are simply the pattern of the notes, not the actual solos. The Allman Bros did it that same pattern, trumpet players do it, and many other performers. It's not a matter of any one of them taking influence from one another, it's just a common sequence of notes. If I could tab example in this post, I would.

This is actually just a very common guitar exercise of playing notes of a scale in ascending triplets, a lot of players use a similar lick as a warm up.

Remember guys...CREATIVITY! What can you do that no one has done before? How many musicians have you influenced? Does the music convey a "big picture" approach as opposed to playing scales and modes over and over? Example: many jazz/classical musicians are amazingly gifted and skilled, but ask them to write a song that will endure the test of time...It's not easy "making up" something, even if it's easy to play.

I think Rhodes and Page are both great. They both have different styles when it comes to playing guitar. The most important thing is to put their heart and soul into music and thats what they do. When you are passionate about making music, the audience can feel it when they come to shows.

Hammet always blows Randy off as being no big deal...read his interviews! Kermit needs to turn off the Wha for once, instead of using it as a crutch. Listen to You Can't Kill Rock and Roll..that has good use of the that pedal.
