  • Nice music, greetings from Argentina!

  • Sorry to break it to all of you but Hank Williams is the first ever Rocka Billy musician, not country music. Unfortunately he died 2 years before rocka billy music became mainstream. The reason you hear the steel guitar is because he borrowed that idea from Jimmie Rodgers who also used the steel guitar, and by the way Jimmie Rodgers got the steel guitar from 2 hawaiian musicians he met.

  • well what can i say.. i m just so lonesome that i cud cry !!

  • best country star ever in my opinion

  • I think 4 people want Hank willam .sr's Dick........

  • My dad used to be a huge Hang Williams Sr. fan and I grew up listening to this. I have to say, I'm not a country fan at all but Hank still sends shivers down my spine. Turn him on and I'm mesmerized by that amazingly soulful voice. The man was a genius and a true musician. I only wish I could have gotten to see him live. Today has great songs but, of them all, this is one of my top two favorites. What's my other one? Another Hank song: Lost Highway. Still, at 37, brings tears to my eyes.

  • I'm a musician, and as a rule, I respect ALL other musicians - from Mozart to Taylor Swift. However, I would MUCH rather listen to this than pretty much anything that is called "country" today. I don't think modern country artists are bad, it's just my personal preference.

  • Regarding; ldixson45 statement "No, it garbabge". I definitely DID NOT mean Hank Williams Sr or JR. I meant the stuff they play today - it is GARBAGE.

  • Any video of Hanks Williams Sr is fantastic. He had such a voice that it can never be duplicated, however, Junior does a darn good job of it. The older folks of Country Music is the best. I refuse to listen to the junk that is played today. It is a shame and disgrace to the the real Country music of this USA.

  • I have to admit, I don't listen to country at all. But growing up my dad always listened to Hank Williams Sr and my uncle could sing a dead-on version of this song. I really, honestly, ADORE Hank Williams Sr. THIS is what I think of when I think of country music. It is the only kind I enjoy. It is so soulful.

  • living in Nashville ruins this song for you.

down down Nashville is far from effin country.

  • I remember standing on my Dad's feet as a kid and dancing to this song...love you, Dad!

  • i love country music so much. its my favorite. just like this song. great song.

  • I'm more of a Metal music person but, i grew up on this stuff. Still love it :)~

  • This is truly COUNTRY! The garbage that is played today is anything but!!! I am not saying that the music is bad, I am just saying that it is NOT country.

  • @ldixson45 No, it's garbage.

  • he wouldve sounded so much better if he was in a recording studio today still great song wish we could hear his voice on stage today

  • And as I wonder where you are I'm so lonesome I could cry

    My life..........

  • The hillbilly Shakespeare

  • hank williams concerts would have been sold out* if he had lived longer :/

  • @patjennings200 you got that right even hank jr turned into a dumbass with that kid rock asshole all the good stuff came to pass johnny cash waylon jennings the only one left worth a shit is charlie daniels alan jackson isnt that bad for new country

  • Man....the good stuff

  • great song

  • this song is great

  • Remember folks...there's an old saying that if you hear a whippoorwill, then someones gonna die soon.

  • 1 person dislikes genius

  • depression city here i come.lol

  • Now, that's country. Beats the hell out of this pop/disco/country crap that they call country & western today.

  • Gotta love Hank Williams!!!! :)

  • you mean bubble gum country

  • I am 28 and am a huge country music fan. THIS type of country. NOT the pop music today. Such a shame. I miss country music.

  • @TheRedNeckInMN i agree!!

  • @TheRedNeckInMN Nashville is a bunch of sell out clowns. They ruined country. My country stars would have never had blonde tip bangs like today. No one sings from the heart about real emotions. This is why black blues and old country were so similar. They both came from the heart and you could feel the pain.

  • ahh, that's just some damn good music.

  • I hate to see country music fading away from this. I hate how the great country singers of today, are the ones who don't make it all that big. And the singers who don't live their songs, and have been spoon fead every thing they own since the day they were born, sadly are the ones that make it big in the music business.

  • @patjennings200 yeah my brothers like toby keith and brad pasely and say its the best country ever, and i say hank williams, marty robbins, and johnny cash are true country cause its from the heart, and that other stuff is just for money.

  • My dad used to sing Hanks songs too. He also sang with Loretta be for she got famous. Dad's gone now and I miss him, I remember him when I hear Hank, I have a little song I wrote to my dad. Called "He Know More"

  • R.I.P Grandpa. good ol Hank will always remind me of you

  • This is country when country was real country

  • when country was country. feel the heartache

  • Hank sr was the man

  • I'm not a fan of country music but his lyrics are just beautiful!

  • This is true country music, the stuff that people call country now is a complete and total disgrace to counrty music. Hank Williams Sr. was and always will be the one and only king of country.

  • this song tells what my life is like. all alone no one who cares, so I do cry cause thats all I have

  • wow this isn't shit

  • One person needs to seek psychological help since they are delusional and dont know good music when they hear it. 15 cent wont ever do music as good as this.

  • i love jr, the third is ok but no one beats the true king of country.

  • Thanks for posting an excellent audio version with accurate lyrics.

  • This guy literally drank himself to death in the back of a car on the way to a concert. He was a raging alcoholic, yet my hero. R.I.P. Hank King Williams Sr.

  • Hank was the King of a genre.

  • 1 person couldnt understand English ..

  • I'm a rock fan mostly, but Hank has to be the greatest of the greats. This is a song that everyone can relate to, and respect. Sadly, there's no more artists of his level of talent. Never forgotten...................

  • @goesfastandfar Listen to his grandson..... Hank 3

  • @z28931 hes good but wont be as good as his dad or his dads dad.

  • @slashboy346 I beg to differ. Hank jr doesn't sing real country music, but his son does. Maybe you should listen to more of his material. I like hank jr, don't get me wrong, but it isn't real country like hank sr.

  • @z28931 yea hank jr made his own variant of country which was still great, his style was much like other country greats like charlie daniels, hank the 3rd wont match up he cant sing as good as his grand pap and he aint got the emotion in his lyrics like his dad.

  • guess one person has never got drunk and jammed out to hank lol......LOVE THIS SONG

  • Don't listen to country much anymore because its just not as enjoyable, but I still like to occasionally listen to some Hank Sr. This song will have a place in my heart because I grew up listening to Sr and Jr.

  • niceeeeeeeeeeee

  • who could dislike this song????

  • @3385loulou justin bieber fan

  • Love this old Hank Williams song. This is a great upload. My thanks to SweetCountryGirlx for uploading this classic.

    5 *****++++ !!

  • @donkey3214 Some people do not understand beauty of country songs... They consider country music too primitive. Perhaps melodies are really simple, but words always are very beautiful, sensitive and true to life... ♫♪♥♪♫

Thank you so much donkey3214 for sharing this lovely song and thanks SweetCountryGirlx!

  • Love Hank sr great music

  • Lol thers one person who must be VERY lonely

  • thank you!!! thank u so much

  • Great sound quality! Thanks for posting this! =)

  • this should have 75 million views, im a music love of all genres, rap, rock, classical you name it i love it. but i have to say that hank williams sr is my favorite singer of all time. personally hes one of the greatest songwriters of the 20th century. i know all of his songs by heart and will love him forever!!!

  • That is just a great song!

  • i grew up to listening to country, but ive always hated it!

but these country classics give country a different meaning than this poppy crap they have now a days

  • great song

  • country legend, song is the epitome of what country music should be.

  • Best song ever with no doubts. There is no other song i nthe history of music that compares. : )

  • J'aime toujours les chansons d' Hank Williams, j'ai toujours entendu ses chansons depuis que je suis jeune et me rappellera toujours mon père.

  • I just caught at the where someone said I love you Hank....That was really beautiful. Thank you for this tribute.

  • Great song. Also Ged Clampets favorite too!! :-)

  • learn to spell but i like the song its spelled wipperwill

  • @BeXxOo i hope your kidding. if not, your a complete dipshit, its spelled whippoorwill

  • @boomhauer15 Ya that wasent me. my friend had my account for 3 days and is really stupid so ya he is a dipshit.

  • Chiggedy Check out Volbeat's cover :)

  • hank williams sr. is greatest singer ever in my opinion!!!! love him!!

  • @420horrorfreak His grandson Hank III sounds pretty close and is pretty damn good too. If Sr. were around today, he'd be a proud man.

  • @magich8ball whoz his grandonson i wann here it ??

  • @leannad9 Hank Williams III

  • @magich8ball thanks mate

  • The midnight train is whining low---was blind but now I see---Amazing grace how sweet the sound that saved a wretch like me, I once was lost but now I'm found---I'm so lonesome I could cry!!!

  • poor hank, a legand for sure

  • Many years later I listen to this song and realise its beuty! Hank was a great poet.

  • for an ol cowgirl this is my serinade...

  • man i grew up with song as a boy and i still love it

  • This guy is a poet. The imagery is powerful and is much better than any country music around today.

  • good song

  • another legend in his right

  • Best country song ever written.

  • @basenjib123 your funny boy?

  • hard to believe he was only 29 when he left this world he seemed a lot older

  • REAL country music, all you have to do is listen to words!!the man sang with his heart, too bad todaay's artists are in only for the bucks..keep singing in heaven Hank we love ya still..

  • I love this song; I was listening to it at work one day and and a black dude said nothin worse than a crying cowboy and I told him there was too something worse and he said what? And I told him a smart assed coon.I pissed him off but he pissed me off talking crap about one of the best singer/songwriter's ever.

  • @blitzspeer are yous sure he was making fun of the song? and even if he were to use a racial remark like that as a comback just makes you an asshole. no matter if he was making fun of one of the best country singers in the world to say something like that was very poor judgement on your part. i am ver disappointed in the wold where everything has to come down to racial epithets.

  • @blitzspeer dude thats fucking hilarious

  • I love this song! Reminds me of my grandpa.

  • @1:41 he says "like me he's lost the will to live"; not "that means he's lost the will to live." I'm only pointing that out because there was a slight controversy over that. See for yourselves and tell me what you think. It's obvious what he's saying, though.

  • @TrumanPolly Ive always thought it was it seems, but like me is deeper and sadder. More like HANK!

  • @scumgod13: Thanks for checking that for me, man. I think so, too. I see that you're a musician, too. Very good music. You know that song you're playing in your profile sounds like "I am weary, let me rest," from O Brother where art thou! Good job. :D

  • @TrumanPolly hey, actually the big video on my profile is a friend of mine. The song that says Dont weep for me is written and sang by my good buddy Chris Carter. I am Christopher Scum, and Fifty acres of Pain is my latest album released last year. If you type in my name and album name that should bring a few songs up.Are you also a musician.I'll have to check your channel out too!

  • @TrumanPolly Yea, I always thought he said It seems he lost the will to live, but I think youre right. Makes more sense that way anyway.

  • @scumgod13 Everyone who covers the song says ,that means ,too.I guess theyre all wrong!lol

  • @slicknicknirvana I dont know, I dont wanna get in an argument about it. Its a beautiful song, cant we just agree on that and let it go?

  • @scumgod13 I dont want to argue either.Im too old for that.Im not some dumb teen writing nonsense here.It is a beautiful song and thats all that matters.Peace.

  • @slicknicknirvana Good on you mate. It's beautiful and one of the most influential country songs of all time. But, I guess any Hank Williams song is.

  • hey I'm a latino I think this is the best country song I ever heard!! Hank Williams mi respeto!! :)

  • As much as I love Hank Williams Sr, I can't really see how this is so often called his best. I'd take Kaw-Liga or Your Cheatin Heart any day. But is there any special reason why this one s so often called his best? (not that I don't like it, it's still great)

  • @FidelioRoo Cause its so emotional, you can hear it in his voice, its real! My fsvorite is Just told Mamma Goodbye or maybe something off Luke the Drifter, but this song is special.

  • this song makes me feel so lonely...me and my bro listened to it every huntin year. we loved this album. now hes forever gone and i listen to this just to remember his voice. im so lonesome i could cry....

  • @madsexy69r Yes it speaks to the heart each of us feels blue and alone sometimes. Hank says it perfect.

  • Touches deep in the soul,a classic from day one.

  • A heartbreaker from way back but they new how to sing them then, sadly not so much now.

  • hank ill be tipping the beer tonight,an out of EACH OF THEM a sip for you :) lets do this brother!!!!!!ITS FRIDAYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!

  • This ones for my Dad... he used to sing this song to me as a child...makes me cry now just to hear it.

  • I remember my mom singing this, I grew up in the 60's and my taste was a bit different but I still love old country.

  • Hank lived a 100 years in his short life...What a talent. Thanks again, you know good music. take care, winston

  • sweet country girl your a glass of cold water. it gets me aggrevated wghen folks try to be as ghetto as they possably can even tho they were born in the suburbs or country

  • Thank You for posting this.

  • My Dad used to listen to Hank Sr. all the time when I was a kid. I came to love his music as much as he did. My Dad is gone now, but these old Hank sr songs help keep his memory alive for me. Thanks for posting this song.

  • Thanks SweetCountryGirlx- I love the Hank, and his suits!

  • i could be mistaken but are the words, like me hes lost the will to live. not, that means hes lost the will to live. not sure sounds like hes sayn like me not that means. either way its 1 of the best song ever made. all before he turned 30 yrs of age.

  • @countryheros pretty sure its hes lost the will to live. Its very possible though that it is what you think it is

  • #1 country song of all time not that pop bullshit they shove down your throat and call country fuck taylor swift darris rucker carrie underwood all of them

  • I agree 100%

  • In all fairness Darius Rucker is better than most of the contemporary country artists, and is more country than most of them too, but you do have a point. What's gonna happen when George Strait is gone? Country will never be the same.

  • Greatest song, or atleast country song ever!

    5*!

  • young lomandyo,amasing.

  • Great Video & Song - Thanks for sharing Hank Williams with us :)
