I will be alwys eternally thankful to L.Vadiynathan who score the original music for Malgudi Days..i don't knw any other soundtrack in world..which directly evokes the feeling for the subject like this soundtrack..once u hear dis soundtrack..it instantly connects to Malgudi Days..

Evn films like Titanic,Terminator & Blood Diamond has amazing soundtrack..but Malgudi Days is simply sublime...

if i was not a flute player and just an audience, i would have done the same, shove a flute from the mouth of this non sensical singer, there was no meaning of shouting ha ha ha and ta na na na, when the flute was so melodramatically conveying the essence of wholesome music

The singer is none other than Naresh Iyer!! Naresh has sung in Rang De Basanti and several Tamil films. He was selected by AR Rahman from SUper Singer show on Channel V.

if were that flute player ,i would have definately shoved my flute in that singers ass for a minute,and then would have put the same end of flute in his mouth. and why would i do that ,because he ruined a master piece of real indian music.but any way thanks to vikramshastri.keep in touch

Very rare I comment but I am doing this right now just because of that stupid singer. He really kill the music. I have seen this guy in some TV reality show. He is such a bad singer. I love flute and this music is one of the best of my childhood days.

I would like if the flute player is reading this comment, please re-record it without that stupid and crazy singer.

very true mate. he is a spoil sport. the real escence of this tune is in the flute. it brings back those memories of Malgudi days watched over the dinner table and Swami and his adventures ofcourse.
