Why do so many Tennessee Walkers love something so much they aren't allowed to do. Pssshhhaw! My mare has great form when she goes over the jumps and tucks in her legs better then my friends belgian warmblood.
She does seem to love it. My challenge now is finding time to work with all the horses I've rescued and care for them. They all seem so grateful for a good home, but you never get them trained up like you would if a person just focused on one horse.
Where were you showing. I compete with my TWH in Open Hunter/Jumper events as well. Last weekend in Franklin, Tn we were 2nd place in the Jumper 2'6" rounds out of 14 Thoroughbreds. . .
Now that's impressive! And yet, I'm not surprised, I feel like TWHs can do anything--including dressage, but they have to be trained differently than a walking horse trainer would start them for dressage.
No kidding? Wow, you rock! I always felt they could do anything, but I experienced a little breed prejudice with a dressage instructor, but have since met some open minded instructors, too. I'll be cheering for you!
