ive used a flip top caberg until recently when i got a full face helmet for my cam, anyway ive found myself using the full face one more and more, the wind noise is annoying sure but i feel more snug in the full face helmet. (plus it looks cooler) lol
Yeah, another downside to fliptops is: any street cred you happened to have on your bike with your leathers etc you instantly lose as soon as you flip up your helmet and look like a dork :)
Yeah, I'd stick with full face DP. They do have their advantages when re-fueling though or at a long red light on a hot day. But I must say the wind noise cons outweigh all their pros.
You mentioned in your reply to Zavochkin that wearing glasses was the main reason for your trying out a modular helmet. I've pretty much always worn glasses as well, and have never really had any issues with using a full face helmet. While I suppose that it's nice not having to remove the specs in order to pull the modular version on or off, I'll stick with a regular full face. Especially after hearing your report on how noisy the flip up ones are.
lol, I think the term is more along the lines of "not so bright" than "kamikaze"...lol. The kamikaze's actually knew what they were doing, dont think pigeons have ever been know to have a lot of brain power...lol
Never saw what was the big deal about modular helmets. They are all known to be more noisy too, but I just don't have any desire to flip it open like that unless I'm parked and trying to talk with someone.
The attraction for me was due to my glasses. It's a real pain taking them on and off with a full face. After owning a modular now, I doubt I'd buy another. At least I have both now though.
Interesting. I've read that the OEM pads are best for my bike. One thing I'm unhappy with is that the brake lever is getting softer. I have to pull harder on it to slow down. Of course I don't have a sport bike.
Yep, I will go with the OEM pads when I replace my rotor too. I will be getting a wavey disc on £99 compared to the £149 Honda OEM rotor price. Sounds like you are due to replace your brake fluid and/or upgrade to steel braided lines.
Given the price, the wavey rotor sounds good. Is it metallurgically as good?
Apart from cosmetics, do wavey brake rotors offer any advantage on a street bike? I understand they are good at clearing the mud off on dirt bikes. Any extra surface area for dissipating heat doesn't seem realistic. Rotors are pretty thin to begin with.
Still, £50 is £50. You could probably go from Cardiff to London on that.
Yeah, especially as I spent so long trying lots on. I'd heard they were noisy but didn't expect then to be so bad. I always ride with earplugs anyway so it's not that big of a deal I guess. Snow is very over rated btw :)

Hello Swipe. Got Allergies? Thanks for the ride.

Hi Mr C. Not sure, I always get a dry throat when I talk on the bike. If I stay silent I'm ok.

Yeah, I know. I always get that cough when I'm vlogging. When I'm off the bike it goes. Weird. Must be something to do with the wind.

Good vid Swipe. What brand of helmet did you buy? Just want to make sure NOT to get that one if I'm in the market.

It's a shame the new lid isn't working out for you. I have never seen snow before haha.

Dodgy breaks you say? Sounds like a day out to me haha! the Aprilia seems to eat break pads.

The problem in my case is those sintered pads eat discs :)
