guys if you are going to get a projector get lcd or 3lcd which i recomend izm using one now in bright day and it looks like a perfect 200 inch screen. I recomend you get a epson ex 7200 or ex 5200 for 750 to 1000 dollars but im lucky i got mine new for 400
i have a DLP projector and its freaking awesome, had it since 2006, still going strong, picture quality is amazing! just starting to get the lamp replacement warning now, but can still last another 500 hours or so :D
@deputydillhole When it comes to having as many as 7-8 billion of any species living together, they will start destroying each other regardless their knowledge.
we bought a 60" (or something in that area) Mitsubishi DLP TV about 3 years ago and sense we had to replace the bulb (~$200) and now the light engine is leaking a large blue blotch on the bottom left of the screen. considering the fact that it only goes up to 720p resolution, we are disappointed with our DLP television
I am so glad I did not buy a flat panel and instead got a 82" DLP mitsubishi tv,Not only is the color and brightness awesome, The color is actually better it seems. And it only uses 250 watts. A 50" plasma tv uses like 650watts! And everyone that has a flat panel is actually impressed with my DLP.
DLP micro-mirrors have been shown to hinge over 1 trillion times (11 years!) without fatigue. Dead pixels aren't an issue. It's pretty amazing technology really.
Have you guys ever seen a DLP projector with broken mirrors in it? Bad pixels? Some other obvious sign of malfunction due to the number of moving parts?
@stickyfox I have Optoma DLP 720mp...over 3 years in use, all the time in eco mode...not even one bad pixel or any picture problems. Im very happy with it even If is not HD
this system will not be selling well. Now the market is the best LCD and plasma LEDs. They are thin, makes no noise and does not crash so quickly. You will see the market does not adopt this product

@JISINSANE3 I have multiple white dots on my DLP projector. I'm assuming a few these many micro mirrors are jammed?

Aren't LEDs going to make this obsolete?

That is nothing but amazing. How did they figure that out?

DLP FTW. It bugs me when people can't tell the difference between films and digital/DLP. :(

LCD can tend to have a murkier picture. and somewhat pixelated compared to DLP.
DLP technology is even used in movie theaters, so its your call as to what you'd like to pay for. Personally, i'd rather buy a dlp projector.

it's crazy how much smarter humans are than the next smartest species is....except when it comes to not destroying ourselves

A million mirrors moving at a thousand cycles per minute....it's gonna break somehow. I'm not a fan of DLP technology.
fvckUb1tch 2 years ago
to many moving parts. It can break very fast. I dont see future with this technology
arieloflame 2 years ago
@arieloflame new technology requires moving parts, u know earth is round, and there is no magic :| so what else?
