  • Never really been a Drew Carey fan, I mean, he's okay, but there were a few parts where I really liked Clive... Well played, Mr. Anderson... well played.

  • So I finished watching multiple play throughs of the American Whose Line and over the past couple weeks I've been grinding my teeth and jittering in withdrawal. Then I remembered there was a previous airing in the U.K. It's like I weened myself off cocaine and someone dropped twenty pounds of heroine in my breakfast bowl.

I'm happy but I think I'm in need of professional help.

  • @ManicRevelation me toooo!!!!!

  • This has nothing to do with commenting on this video. I didn't know youtube has this reaction button now and I was curious. Completely ignore this post, lol

  • Either Archie is American or he does a pretty convincing American accent. Could someone possibly help me out here cuz I'm honestly not sure. Thanks!!

  • @animegal2686

    Archie Hahn is American.

  • @LadyShadowDragon

    Thank you : )

  • "Those guinea pigs are my pets!" Paul Merton and Tony Slattery were the best Party Quirks hosts.

  • "Those guinea pigs are my pets!"

    Brilliant.

  • Wait...so here the point DO matter?

  • Was this episode like that just because they were nervous or something over the premier? Because that was pretty sad. I didn't even laugh once. Everyone seemed so up tight and not relaxed and it didn't seem like anyone had much fun like in the US version.

  • I like the UK version and US version :) They're all funny in their own style.

  • so the points matter here/ :P

  • At least there's a point to the whole reading the credits thing in the UK. In the US, the audience just cheers over it, and none of the performers really take it seriously. Lol.

  • Clive looks so ecstatic when he rings the doorbell xD

  • Holy crap! The points actually matter here?

  • @dovepaw0228 I didn't get that impression, but they did fail to underline their uselessness.

  • Paul is bloody brilliant later in the show, but I think he was really nervous since it was the first episode. He's great when he finally relaxes: There's somebody at the microwave...

  • Hey John sessions the dude from willy wonka or does he just look a lot like him

  • @griffmonkez

    Gene Wilder played Willy Wonka.

  • What the fuck is wrong with Josie's hair?

  • @MichelleOo93 A terrible affliction known as the 1980s.

  • @MichelleOo93

Well the first season of this show aired in the late 80s so it was probably just the look of the decade.

  • it was funny but i like the american one better

  • For some reason, it looks like Clive was actually enjoying himself at 4:06

  • wow... clive wasnt so good back then....

  • Damn those credits went by fast 0_0

  • Ahhh, the twiglet joke is born!

  • what twiglet joke?

  • Wow. In the early days Clive had a whole second between his goodnights during his sign off! LOL!

  • You're going to stick this WHERE?

  • Yeah, I like her, too.

    She's funny and can sing!

I like John best when he acts a bit silly and smiles big.

  • I've never seen the original Whose Line before...

but it looks good so far.

I don't really know any of these comedians...

but my favorite so far is Paul.

I LOVE the US version and I can't wait to see the rest of these.

The basics are the same, but the style of comedy is different (of course). I like both.

  • The worlds thinnest man! XD

Clive looked quite happy about using his different buzzer. ^_^ He was so nervous in this episode, but still made a great host!

"There's somebody at the microwave" ROFL

    Richard Vrance? LOL

This was a brilliant first episode for Whose Line a.k.a. the best show ever!

  • Is it just me or do they all seem a bit awkward? I guess it's because it's the first ep.. I probably shouldn't say anything as I've only watched this ep of the UK version so far, but I (unlike everyone else) like the US v. better. I think it's because I've always loved Drew :P

  • XD

"Why am i still on camara you ask? I don't know!"

  • Aw bless Clive, first time on TV he seems so nervous here!! gotta love whose line, :P

and LMAO at Clives face 3:24, when he presses the button XD

  • "I realise the gravity of the situation." lol

    Classic, deadpan Paul xD

  • "Excuse me, there's someone at the microwave."

    ^

One of the funniest bits of Whose Line with Merton ever. And it was in the first episode too.

    Now that's improv! xD

  • That was just awesome xD

  • THOSE GUINEA PIGS ARE MY PETS!!!

  • Well this is the first episode of Whose Line ever made for television so it's not gonna be as finely tuned as the US version... They had 10 seasons of the UK version to learn from... If you watch the later UK's seasons especially 9 and 10 they're much better and more polished and the cast are more relaxed. Poor Clive looks so nervous here! It was his first time on television I believe!

  • I've already watched it. And you're right. It got better. Fantastic even. Still I think I slightly prefer the US version, but that's just the matter of taste. Thus I don't understand why did I get thumbs down :(

  • us verison is shite. british version is amazing

  • "Richard Vrance"

    rofl!

  • i love the title music XD

    so catchy :)

  • josie is so beautiful... and i love her voice!

  • josie lawerence is a cutie ;)

  • Laure Hall is prettier :p

  • lol...sorry to sound like a newbie...but who is laura hall....dont know if i have seen her?

is she the piano player in the american version?

  • I hope i wrote her name right...She is a pianist in american whose line.

  • yea

ur rite....u did get her name rite...i just forgot...lol

but i never forgot her smile ;) ur rite ...shes a cutie :)

  • And there we have it. The very first ever "Me, Clive Anderson, saying goodnight. Goodnight."

Nevermind how nervous he is doing it, it's a moment for the world history books! The first show like it. :)

  • I love all of whose line UK and US. Each performer brings something different and funny. Which is what it is all about. Great stuff and I remember watching it in the 80's and loving it then as I so now. To try and compare them is silly, just enjoy!

  • Archie has his props even from episode 1 hahaha!

  • paul merton is funny

  • Hehe, the world's thinnest man!

  • "There's someone at the microwave!" LOL.

Clive was pretty darn excited about that doorbell.

    ~God Bless.

  • "and i catch" lol!!!

  • i love john sessions. xxx

  • John really holds back Paul in the Props round. If I were Paul, I woulda taken the prop and smacked John with it.

  • Well, it was the first episode, and they didn't quite know what they were doing exactly, so they just needed some time until it got better.

  • Comment removed

  • I prefer the 1988-1989, i'm not sure why but, there's more whit. hehe. I don't have anything against Colin Mochrie or Stephen Frost or anyone from the early 90's but, I dunno why

  • yeah, the earlier series were wittier. What was annoying in the later series was the Ryan/Colin obessession, when i personally find them quite repetitive.

  • Glad someone else finds this
