  • Saw this song as an encore in toronto... a unique rendition too! Great show it was!

  • too bad they've fizzled out into crap love ballads :P losing a lot of their first fans

  • Is this an awesome tune or what

    I love it!

  • The most sensually hypnotic and erotic song I've ever heard.

  • These guys are like Pink Floyd. Timeless. Only two bands that can do it.

  • thanks for posting these videos, haven't heard them in a while and needed a quick fix from a good selection

  • Word is they might be comming back together, Jeff has wraped up his solo stuff, and i think they would breath a fresh breath of air into today's rock.

  • @XxFlUfFyMaRiNexX Rumour seems true Wikipedia says that they will reform briefly to play Sarnia Bayfest and Canadian tour. Sarnia Bayfest listed the Tea Party on their website as participants. PASS IT ON!

  • Comment removed

  • @martbook They are performing in Ottawa on July 14th as well

  • My guitar teacher played a gig with these guys back in the day :D

  • There are only 2 songs equaly awesome......luxuria and must must

  • re the doors, i find it funny how much we detest copying. Sometimes when things are examined and re-examined, they can be kept alive, they morph and eventually they become more refined and improved. I'm thinking of Greek architecture as an example

  • One the most underrated bands in Canadian Music now we have this crap called Justin Beiber

  • These guys were definitely under rated! I've seen them live several times and they put on great performances!

  • perhaps their crowning moment is this song

  • 100000000 percent awesome video is fucking creepy though

  • I saw them play in Brisbane, Australia a few years ago and I must say they represent themselves EXACTLY as they sound in studio. They were faultless and tuned to perfection. The drummer AMAZED me at his talent, they are all multi-talented and can play numerous instruments, would def go see them if they ever re-group for a tour, money well spent and the BEST band I have seen live .........

  • @KoZZmiKchiK good to hear! cause im going to seet them tonight!!!! SO PUMPED :D

  • Goosebumpsssssssssssssssss ...... the memories ........ the love ....... the loving xxxxxxxxx

  • This song and the hole album is a unique effort. Combining so many instrtuments from all around the world , The Tea Party succeed an awasome result. Every song is a trip. Great performers and musicians. Too bad to break up. A classic band for me already.

  • Esta canción y este vídeo son verdaderas obras

    de arte.

  • Canadian artists do bring out some of the most original music.

  • I have respect for Glenn Beck in the sense that I agree with what he says until he starts to elevate himself to the likes of Jesus, Ghandi, and Martin Luther King Jr.

It is then I lose all respect for him, because all those great men exhibited something Beck lost along the way, humility. Those men let others elevate them into the status of greatness.

Both He and Palin are not the leaders of the Tea Party.

    Allen West 2012

  • cool graphics in this video nice music

  • hopefully nothing to compared with the political party ^!^

Love their music and some oriental sounds present in their composition...

  • @MrSickmoon Heh, we're talking mid 90's here. So no, nothing to do with that gong show of a political movement. As for there sound, it's more of a Middle Eastern/North African(Egypt, Libya, Morocco, etc...) sound rather than an East Asian. There unique genre of rock has been quoted as being called Morocc'n'roll. Jeff Martin, the lead singer, is doing solo work in Ireland at the moment and has also formed a band called the Armada and he still uses a lot of Middle Eastern influences in his music.

  • @MrSickmoon boston tea party! all aboard the tea raft!

  • While The Tea Party created great music, they also created great videos to compliment their music. I don't know who directed their videos, but they are impressive.

  • This was such a great song when I heard it on 89X radio...I miss this song!

  • Saw these guys at the Toronto Rocks festival. These guys fucking destroyed it, way better than the headlining bands!! When the finished their set with this song, I almost died! We love you, The Tea Party!

  • Finally

    There Is No King Left

    Acceptt

    Get(Come)

    Home

    I Love You All!!!

    :D(;Dcry;D)

  • I've always loved this fucking album. It's the best album to bang a woman to.

  • Great song from one of the greatest albums ever recorded

  • so lovely. (:

  • The first two albums were incredible. After that it was all pop crap.

  • Jessie: when this beautiful cult of desire has left you for dead, isolation will cradle the lies of things left unsaid.. what will it take? Sister ..awake!

  • Masterpiece

  • I think the woman in the video came too close to death and the supernatural;-).. the MIBs came for her LOL but seriously it's a great song!

  • this song is awesome:-D

  • lets all sit down and have a tea party 4 the best band ever tea party!!

  • totally under rated band they desserved alot more I love their use of different musical instruments truely original and a awsome sound and his voice a jim morris reincarnation simply the best

  • Basically it sounds like Alice In Chains with a sitar. That having been said, it's awesome.

  • @joiless and without the staley/cantell melodies.

  • @kcougar12 That too.

  • I shall have a tea party in their honour

  • nothing is original these days. all the brit blues bands from the 60.s stole the sound from american blues players. i didnt like the tea party at first until i saw them live. THEY were amazing!! they are very talented musicians. id like to learn all the eastern intruments they use in their songs.

  • @bjchiniki good luck jeff martin the lead vocalist/guitarist uses about 40 different instruments in there career

  • @psykochyld234 I'm only up to 5 lol

  • @stoneymatthews Please let me add wolf parade, arcade fire, broken social scene, new pornographers, metric, sam roberts, mstrkrft, death from above 1979 etc. you missed some pretty important ones there bay.

  • Geez.zz this guy sounds almost identical to jim morrisson.

    Pretty cool stuff, though.

You can thank me for stating the obvious.

  • He doesn't sound like Jim Morrison at all !

  • @Ariellesoucy Ohh yea he does, in the sense that they both have deep baritone voices, doesn't really mean anything though....

  • The only way to move to this song properly is lose yourself like free Gypsy to The Dance. And I don't dance no more al I do is dis.

  • @SpiritBearTotem

Totally - I was turned on to Tea Party by a belly dancer friend & found this video looking for tracks to pass along to still another

  • pretty sitar

  • 1:15 to 1:1:50 sickest riff in any rock band lol

  • Awesome !!! The tea party = Perfection in my ears ...and soul !

  • Great band.. awesome music. I use to listen to The Tea Party back in the mid to late 90's ( aprrox 17-19 years of age then ) with a good group of friends and drop an acid tab or mushrooms and we tripped out hard, wass soooo fun cos of the shit we use to get up to and just being free of stress and worries of life. Anyway, great music like this will always be remembered just like the younger years.

  • Go See: "ALERT, alert"

  • i saw the Tea Party when i was in Sydney ... amazing show. amazing voice. and all 3 of the guys are so darn talented.

  • Comment removed

  • Saw these guys in Kelowna... small pub, intimate menu and lots of beer. Woot, good times! Love this song!

  • Brill

  • ...and the memories filled her with light...

an atmosphere and song before it's time. Nicely done and nicely told.

  • This wonderful clip complements beautifully this song, one of their best.

  • i like the eastern influences! very classy move!

  • The eastern influences were Jeff & The Tea Party from the very beginning of their musical career...

On "The Edges of Twilight" they moved to using the full, true orchestration of the instruments instead of emulating the sound...

  • It's their signature sound.... loved it the first time i ever heard them, which was when i was 8... amazing band!!! Miss them very much...

  • the time is 4:20 be there on time....

  • I miss them too...sooo beautiful..

  • Whoa...That was one of the best vidoes I have ever seen on here!! XD lawl...

  • besttt! best band ever duys im so sorry they broke up:(

  • Most underrated band I ever knew, I've been listening to them since 95 still totally unknown in Europe

  • it's the same situation in the states. i remember seeing a few videos (maybe just one) on MuchMusic when i was in junior high. Never any american channels. Certainly not MTV.

  • I guess they never had a good marketing plan or simply they don't care about outside Canada, how funny during all these years I was the only one ever heard of them in my area.

  • @aryathorn

They did pick up some large audiences in certain markets. They were big in Australia and Germany. Never hit it big in the US though.

  • They came out of southern Ontario close to my hometown... Started listening to them in 91 just before their first true release...

    PHENOMENAL Live....!!!

  • every 1/1000 singers in the world has perfect pitch, Jeff Martin is one of them.

  • This is my favourite Tea party song God i miss em

  • Beautiful sumerian story.

  • ΤΕΑ PΑRΤΥΥΥΥΥΥΥ!!!!! Awesome!!!!!

  • Dude, you forgot to take your meds again, didn't you? :)

  • @TrutherD1 What!?

  • This video has always fascinated me. The puppetmaster seems to be telling his puppet to free herself from him.

  • just proves canada has better bands. Ex. Devin Townsend, The Tea Party, Rush and god i could go on

  • lol

  • you forgot the Hip

  • @XxAcousticSamuraixX no you can't. thats about it. lol. just kidding! I love canada

  • morrocan roll

  • amen

  • what would you call this genre of music....with the exotic intruments? i can't get enough of it but it's hard to find...mind you, i don't know where to look

  • Well I would call them Progressive Rock because of the unusual arrangements and instruments.

  • same here

  • alternative

or nu metal, examples korn. they use pretty abstract instruments especially in there unplugged stuff

  • Shigei...your right.

  • Until very recently (Leonard Cohen's new tour) these guys had the Best Concert Ever Seen title in my head. They were tight, they were engaged, they were.. man. Phenomenal.

  • The best thing about 90's music was Canadian music. Blue Rodeo, BNLadies, Crash Vegas, Hip, Headstones, Waterwalk, Grapes of Wrath, etc.

I used to hate the Tea Party, as I thought of them as Doors wannabes, and they blatently seemed to plagiarize Joy Dision with song/album names, and the line, "this is the way, step inside".

But I'm glad that I hated them. I'm now discovering how amazing they were, and hearing all of their stuff for the first time.

  • @themiff AMEN!

  • @themiff glad you're digging them! I first encountered The Tea Party in Australia via radio... then a new indie band doing it on their own terms... got to see them late 90s here. Still a fave, I continue to be impressed by the depth of production ideas.

  • @themiff Ahmen man. There's so many bands that I remebr buying there cd's for whatever single was out at the time and ignoring the album then a couple years later listening to that cd and being like HOW DID I NOT LIKE THIS!?!

  • @themiff I like this group more than the Doors. I never thought of the lead singer as a Jim Morrison imitator but he does seem to sound like him now that you mention it.

  • @themiff

Good... good my young padawan. With age brings wisdom!

Every band is a wannabe in their own right. Each new band is inspired by those that came before. Thus music grows, adapts, and finds new ground. Matures. Inspires. Gives life.

(Sorry, just had to be a smartass there for a moment. Lol.)

Personally, I think Psychopomp was their grandest opus.

  • i saw them in adelaide at the Thebarton theatre in 1997... it was a complete rap up of what weve all imgined it would be like to see the doors and zepplin back in the 60/70's but with the middle eastern edge that took it to another level. it was right out there.

  • The Entire Edges of Twilight Album is amazing, the way they blend ethnic instrumentation with rock. Very underrated album.

Saw them Live multiple times in Oz in the 90s.

  • Brilliant saw them play at Mac uni Bar in the 90's and I do believe they shared everything they smoked with their audience

  • Saw them back somewhere between 1994 and 95. Great band. Sorry to hear they are no more

  • i saw them in concert. canada rocks it.

  • Tea Party are no more. Jeff Martin now has a new band.

  • Is that true? Fuck love the tea party. Wont be able to see them anymore live hey?

  • It is true and pretty sad. He is with a band called The Armada now.

  • Me and my sister would rock out to this totally baked!! Haha! Good times.

  • were all proud of ya

    *rolls eyes*

  • how much are they known outside of canada?

  • Very very nice music!

  • they re known to greece (kinda) ...

i ve seen jeff martin (solo) live in athens couple of years ago, it was great !!!

    tho i d prefer ...tea party ....

  • a few years ago australia was their biggest fan base outside of canada. nowadays... i am not sure!

    but oh... what memories...

  • I only know them because we got a radio station 106.9 FM THE BEAR out of Canada when I lived in NY.

I've introduced all my friends to great Canadian music since moving back to MI.

  • Kind of an eccentric video, yet it's cool at the same time. I like this song. :)

  • i don't know why but.... i really like

    this song 0.o

i want to learn this song on the guitar :D

  • Great Canadian band, reminds me of seeing them in 1995

  • didn't even know their Canadian,I've followed their music for a long time

  • great song... shite clip

  • They're such an awesome band. Saw themlive in Australia quite a few years back. Thouhg I've heard they're broken up now :( Sad if true

  • The Armada, The Armada, The Armada....Seeing them tomorrow at The Manning Bar, UTS Sydney. Check out their website for tour details.

  • how is the band in comparison to the tea party? having an irish drummer should give them a cool celtic sound. Do you know if they are coming to canada?

  • That is brilliant, why have I not heard of them before?!

  • AWESOME BAND.....VERY TALENTED

  • No it is great. Until you start blaming President Obama for Bush-era mistakes. I support our President.

  • Obra teatral inspeccionando los rincones más confusos de la música; The Tea Party es sin duda alguna,más que música,es arte.

  • Masterpiece!

  • simple but sad reason they didnt take off was because they played indo arabic inspired music and the band was at its peak during the 1st gulf war

  • 3:51 looks like hes holding golden nuts lol

  • Eww your right! I never noticed before. Thinking about it now, is it supposed to be a heart shaped statue of some sort or the heart of the girl he is singing about? I can't believe that whole thought was lost on the director of this video. hehe

  • Es un corazón.

  • I like that song..especially form 1:57 till the end

  • MAYBE Im late but I cant understand why this group didnt EXPLODE? seems so right for today

  • I think it has alot to do with them never 'really' touring the US. I personally don't go to concerts but i guess alot of people do and for them to not do that, resulted in alot of people not knowing about them. I do think it's a shame as well. I've adored Tea Party since the 90s.

  • I first heard of the Tea Party, when I was in Basic Training. There first album was playing over the speakers of the music store, and loved there Doors/ Led Zeppelin sound ever since. ( Not any more.) Either way they put out some amazing music. There music grabbed me the moment they made there first album, and loved them ever since.

  • ( Not any more.) - you dont like them anymore?

  • I think he is referring to how their sound changed in their last few albums. I myself thought that they were turning a bit into a 'different band' towards the end. You would agree with that no?

  • I wish the Tea Party kept playing music like this.

  • hey dynamicDAVE519 i think they are playing a sitar in the background i think so anyways cuz it sounds a lot like east indian music in the background cuz i know that in east indian songs a lot of the time they play sitars in their songs
