@markuscoollife It doesn't hold a lot of dc current. Try charging it with static electricity. Ideally a whimhurst generator... That's actually how these were charged in the 1800s. It was an early form of battery... Pretty cool I think.

Do you think perhaps the plastic bottle is letting the capacitor not charge that much?
I think ill try it in 2 ways : Plastic and then Glass.

so basically the plastic here is the dielectric...
one plate being the salt-solution coupled with a nail...and the other being an aluminium foil and another nail ,right?
