Queen was a band that was brilliant from start to finish. Every album had a new original sound, and they always were way ahead of their time. Their music is timeless, and they had four musicians and songwriters who all wrote No. 1 songs! Who could surpass that! Love Freddie for the brilliant artist that he was and Queen is always No. 1 in my heart!
You know what's really strange about music? We all know what effort went into multitracking each guitar part to make up the chords for this piece. We also know that this is the great Brian May playing it right? But if you'd never heard this piece by Queen and you heard your local pub organist playing exactly the same piece with exactly the same sound, it would probably turn your stomach. Imagery eh! Tch!
I went to a Queen concert when this album just came out. They opened with this number and closed with God Save the Queen. They brought a lot of class to hard rock.
I want this to be played on my funeral :)

I think the work of Queen is timeless.
Even the later songs are great (hear "Innuendo").
It is my opinion.
Forever Queen !!!

The original was better, but Queen's version is also not that bad.

Queen took this song from Henry Purcell's "Music for Queen Mary's Funeral". Queen only adapted to it

If interested, check out my cover of "Rhapsody". Of course, it can't be close to original, but it's a tribute!
