Nero is Vergils son, the authors of the game have confirmed it officially. Vergil travelled all over the world and he did visit the city where Nero lives because that place has an connection with Sparda. Apparently he had time to go around wooing ladies.
*sigh* i allways have to be the one to explain this. dmc3 was BEFORE dmc1. vergil falls off the cliff in the underworld. he trys to fight mundas, but trish distracted him, mundas possesses him, dante kills him in devil may cry one. thats it. and nero is not vergils son.
i played DMC4 and completed it, i get it now. virgil lost too mundus in the demon world and mundus just possesed his body and put him in a controled set of armour as a slave.
