I find 15 fps to be better for such things to be honest, the gaps it leaves in the video makes it look more cinematic than having 30 or even 60 fps on them.
@patrickdinh i sure there are rendered in 60fps, like in FFX, but with 15fps they are 4 time smaller ;) Most PSX FMVs are 15fps but i have seen some 30fps but blocky - low bitrate - maybe thats the key... i dont know
@newR4Zi3L the way I look at it, if they render more frames than they're going to use, it would be a waste of time and resources. if the cutscenes in FF8 were produced (for real) at 30fps or even 60, wouldn't those be used in the PC version of FF8? the PC version's cutscenes are 15fps like the PS1, but with higher resolution at least.
also, the FMVs in FFX are 30fps. I suppose it might feel like 60fps when some good motion blur is being used.
@patrickdinh you maybe right about PSX FMV, but i have seen personally in M2V (demuxed PSS) and they said 59,97 fps. XBOX fmvs are always 30fps but on PS2 theyre likely to be 60... (Silent Hill 2 is also what i seen personally)
@patrickdinh ok, maybe i wrong again, and my memory is playing tricks on me.... but i god damn sure that most PS2 games have 60fps FMVs which looks better than 30fps (but needs more bitrate)
Ah, MVTools is some fun stuff. I always find it fun to make videos more appealing to watch just by upping the framerate a bit. Though there's only so much it can do on some videos and will get some really nasty deform tweens.

@newR4Zi3L i don't think they even rendered their CG movies at 60fps to begin with.

@newR4Zi3L i too have looked at the demuxed m2v files from FFX.... they are 30 (or 29.97) fps.
